  1. From what I saw of the game (second half) he played much better than last week. He has potential but is a bit of a long shot - he looks like a giant alpaca (with some work he may put on a bit more size and get some coordination)
  2. "we could do worse" - I think we need to adopt a different attitude if we are ever going to get out of this mess.
  3. Yep we had to make sure Swan didn't get more possessions than we got points!
  4. Pity you have to crash the party!
  5. But I just turned it on! sigh..
  6. I don't believe it was Geelongs drafting skills but more their development of young players (their culture).
  7. So your point is Neeld was the only one not wearing rose coloured glasses?
  8. I meant since Neeld and co have come in we haven't had any Cale Morton's or Gysberts'. Every young draftee that has come in under Neeld has added size to their bodies pretty quickly including Barry and Toumpas. Player like Taggert (Monster), Kent, Viney etc. would never have been the size they are with our old development department. Having said that I am no Neeld fan and would rather go for a guaranteed good young player (22-25) who can come in and have an immediate impact.
  9. No thankyou - I won't be watching anymore draft videos! As for using pick 2 - that depends on whether we get another high pick (compensation) and how desperate the club is for immediate results. I don't think we can say the current FD can't develop talent - name one player that was drafted under Neeld and is skinny? Unless there is an obvious pick 2 that is a guaranteed great player I would be willing to trade pick 2 for an already good player aged 22-25. They would be able to come in and have an immediate impact and help out Jones and the young draftees.
  10. 'delivered draft picks' I can't tell if your joking or not? - Most demonlanders hate the emblem but I like it and as for the 'clearing our debt' - that was the work of Jim Stynes and our faithful supporters not the board. If anything it is the poor structured board that caused the debt and will be the cause of the epic looming debt that is about to hit us hard.
  11. He would still struggle to make it into the 22.... Neeld is always talking about experience and getting games into our young players - maybe it has something to do with that (Magner has already peaked - not part of our future). Never the less we should still be fielding the best possible team and developing our yougth in the best possible team/culture. Maybe Magner had a little niggle a couple weeks ago? It is an odd one - maybe Magner is [censored] off with Neeld for not making him captain (probably be picked up by Brissy next year)
  12. I thought it was quite noble for some to come out and support a special salary cap for Melbounre - because if Melbourne were up the top I couldn't give a rats about helping any other team. Although maybe there is something behind it? Maybe an increased sallary would mean no priority pick or maybe Eddie McGuire was trying to win back some respect after the Goodes saga or maybe trying to avoid Collingwood sliding down the draft? Even if we did get this increased salary cap I doubt we would use it - we only use 90ish% of the cap now. We are in debt agian but could just bite the bullet and attract a number of key players (like Clark) with big money and boom .... suddenly we are an okay team (need to get mids - Thomas).
  13. Agree - can't wait for Peter Jacksons 'Whiteboard Wednesdays'!!! So that's what Schwab got around to when he wasn't desk shopping ...............
  14. I will be honest I thought Peter Jackson was basicaly playing musical chairs (comes in for Schwab and then leaves in 6 months). I underestimated the ability/power of a CEO and thought he would basicaly do very little. Well looks like I was wrong - CEO's seem to be the spine of the football club (who would have guessed judging by Schwabs known influence). He seems to be willing to make the decisions that for so long we haven't been able to make. Although I am now skeptical - how much power does this guy have? can we put our faith in basically one person who seems to report to a board meeting once a month? Anyway ............. Let the heads roll Jackson!
  15. Well instead of giving us a scapegoat in Neeld they gave us a poster boy in Jackson
  16. Confirmed that Neeld is still the coach - for atleast this week: channel 10 Even on ABC: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-06-03/neeld-keeps-coaching-job-for-now/4730194
  17. He also refused to make comments on Neelds future
  18. And the Herald Sun seems to think that Neeld wil be there for the Collingwood match http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-coach-mark-neeld-will-coach-against-collingwood/story-fni5f91a-1226655470508
  19. Yes ABC seems to know something everybody else doesn't. Just when you think you can give the F5 key a rest!
  20. Good news but only the tip of the iceberg
  21. Right - what are the chances of that?
  22. Well its to late for a press conference now right? Maybe tomorrow - the thing is if they announce a press conference for tomorrow the media will be waiting in bushes outside Neelds home ...so what do they do? The meeting should have started at 10am to allow for this
