  1. I will be keeping my fingers crossed the whole time. If I hear the words 'blind freddy" I am going to scream! It finally feels like we have rid ourselves of a great cancer - lets not let it come back! (no dramas thanks Neeld just say how great a club we are etc. - no tanking comments or any other such activity) We have hit rock bottom - only upwards from here
  2. Nope not unless he is head and shoulders above the rest. We need mids, mids and more mids! Key forwards is something we have (provided Clark pulls up - Clark, Dawes, Hogan and maybe Watts?) We need to use our first 3 picks on mids - we improve our midfield and I think our performances wil improve tenfold! We have a backline in Frawley, Garland, Mcdonald, Watts etc. if they weren't under constant pressure due to our crap midfield they could work well together. It is in the center of the ground where we get dominated and that drags the rest of the team down. (Tom won't be any use if we can't get the ball to him)
  3. And get Ratten as midfield coach (whatever it costs)
  4. Don't agree - looking at the past is our only way out of this mess. Lets make sure we do the complete opposite to what we did the last two times (rebuilds) and we will be fine! So I think the past is part of the solution: (2008-2013) = failure ...... (unproven coaches + ignorant board and structure etc. etc. etc.) inverse(2008-2013) = Success
  5. Agree us Demon fans need something to watch! (they would probably get a lot of demon fans watching) They have been on once this year - at least we have had the socceroos and soon the Tour de France to watch.
  6. That's why i think financial support + an expanded salary cap would be more appropriate. It would enable us to secure proven tallent in Free agency and would be less opposed by other clubs. That will only work if players are willing to come to the club though! (If we have a totally different club structure and proven coach by Free agency time we might just be able to trick them into thinking we are on our way up)
  7. Anyone up for making a new thread? ........... "The No M.N No B$ Thread"
  8. Thought I would brighten up the mood here! Took me a while to get this (until I read the caption) David McArthur cartoon. Macca cartoon. A voice from a hole says 'I step down!' (Melbourne Football Club.) http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-president-don-mclardy-stands-down/story-fni5f91a-1226663852725
  9. "MELBOURNE CEO Peter Jackson remained tight lipped as he entered AFL House at 9:30am on Friday to present his plan for the ailing Demons to the AFL Commission." "AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou said the League looked forward to seeing how it could help the Demons, but a decision on any assistance package was unlikely to be made on Friday." "He has made it clear there will be changes but he will not be rushed into making them until he has a plan in place for the club's future." http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-14/jackson-arrives-for-deeday-meeting

  11. Lets just hope our 'action plan' differs from our gameplan ........... (just handball it to someone else)
  12. Don't agree with Strauss and Sylvia. Everyone seems to hate Sylvia and say that he is inconsistent but he is our second best mid (behind Jones) and he has been consistently good this year. We desperatly need mids and leaders so can't afford to lose him. How can you say you couldn't care less if we will lose a big asset and in return get a crappy compensation pick - thats a net loss!
  13. Good call:
  14. Yer not really sure if there is much in it - that was mentioned on the tv (hawthorn vs Melbourne) and Ling said he just chats to Trengove occasionaly about trivial stuff. Unless something has changed since then?
  15. Yes I read yours and I am begining to think you are right!
  16. Haahaaa If I remember correctly I was only responding to your post: you were the one attacking other posters Satyriconhome, on 11 Jun 2013 - 9:52, said: "You would not get flamed from me, only the posters on here who can't look at things logically"
  17. I think you are just proving my point for I clearly don't look at our situation with a 'hate filled gaze'. I am actually quite cool headed - although I don't think that we are yet on the right track I think that the club has the chance to reform itself under PJ. I support their decision in not sacking Neeld (yet) - wait for seasons end where we have time to restructure the club. I am logical and don't see how since Neeld has come in our team has improved - actually it is worse! You can't really suggest that Neeld is implementing a highly defensive gameplan when we lose the possession counts by large amounts and yet also seem to lose the tackle count. I just don't think we will see improvement until we get an experienced coach who can create our own gameplan based on our abilities (like Geelong and Collingwood did). I go to the footy to watch an exciting freeflowing game not to see one chain of possessions in an entire match.
  18. no thanks we have enough list cloggers (maybe Magner though)
  19. Since Neeld said Clark won't play another game this year promote Clisby and just get games into our young players (not Sellar, Gilles, Nicho etc. - not part of our future) Until the end of the year just play youth - at least it will give us something to explain the weekly thrashings. Come the end of the year I think we should take a leaf out of GWS/Gold Coasts book and have a very young list but lead by some really good players. Sellar, Gilles, Nicho etc can be replaced by youth (draft) and players like Rodan and Byrnes can be replaced by actually good players/leaders - (Free agency - Dal Santo, Hayes, Thomas?)
  20. Now that Neeld has come out and said that Clark is unlikely to play another game this year why don't we put him on the long term injury list and promote Clisby. Neeld is always talking about getting games into players, well if they are so valuable why are we wasting them on players like Sellar, Gilles etc.? (they will never be part of a good team - the future) I think if we can genuinely say that we are playing a really young list then the thrashings won't be as mentally taxing.
  21. Only one way to find out!
  22. ......... mmm I think you need to look at things 'logically'
  23. Garland, Sylvia, Jones, Tom Mcdonald, Davey, Howe? (I am not a Neeld fan by the way)
