Probably something like pick 88 - which we would then go on to not use
-
He does realise even if he does move he he will still be demonlands whipping boy ... right? If he leaves who are we going to pay out? Toumpas?
-
Go away - your not wanted here ........ jokes Welcome to the looney bin! A place where you will no doubt waste countless hours and be aware of it.... but you just can't stay away! Good first post (don't agree with tapscott or Jamar tho - we need back up ruckman)
-
Agreed - we can start worrying about a small forward when we start getting the ball in the forward line. It will be much easier to trade for a good small forward than an good young mid.
-
I agree - he is a mid playing forward at Casey because he supposedly doesn't have the tank yet to play mid. Probably is a similar case as Kent. If we really want to bring him in maybe he could be a sub like Kent but play in the midfield (we don't really need another tallish forward) and our midfield could use some help (especially size). No rush though - you should at least have 1 full preseason before playing afl

I would swap Davis for Nicholson and delist Davey for clisby. And also I would have Bail as a possibility Defiantly keep Taggert for another year. To be Delisted MacDonald - Hogan Gillies - ND2 Jetta - ND21 Nicholson - ND41 Sellar - PSD2 Rodan - ND61 Davey - Clisby Possibles Bail - ND 82

I think WYL summed it up well - how can one possibly predict what the Mfc will do next.If we decide to come out and play we could have a day out but if we don't we will get flogged. From memory their midfield killed us last time with their pace and spread.

Where are we going exactly? -

I tend to agree - demonland has created a colt status around PJ in a cling for hope. Although I can't judge because I am one of them and think he does have vision or direction. I love to be optimistic but don't think we should give ourselves to much false hope (look what happened the last couple times - same buzz was around Neeld at the start). At least we know not what to do now. -
I think your a bit optimistic Grand Old Flag. There is really not much to suggest Roos is keen on the job. He is most likely refusing to say no because he wants to see what the AFL arena throws at him (I am sure other clubs will approach him). Maybe he has done a Lyon and already signed with a team so can't really say he is not interested in coaching again. Who would want to coach a basket case like Melbourne? The pressure would be enormous

I am beginning to think there wasn't a whole lot of one on one time with Neeldy and the players. I think they thought he was a cold blooded and the only thing that was one on one was the whip. I hope he appoints a coach who can communicate to the players on a personal level and someone who the players want to win for (malthouse) -
New Docklands Park - Potential Training Venue?

I have heard Peter Jackson is building it with his own hands (with the help of James Magner of course) -

Just because you put something on a list does not mean you will get it - trust me I speak from experience.I would have asked Santa 10 times for a rocket ship and I am still waiting. -

Yer I think he wasn't happy with Buckingham Palace ... Poor kid hasn't got much going for him -
Don't know about trading pick 2 - we have to wait and see what a. The draft is like, b. what is on the trade table and c. Free agency (any decent youngish mids or maybe a senior mentor - Cooney) If we got pick 1 I would defiantly say trade though because your basically trading Tom Boyd (which we don't need but other clubs do - high demand high price). Whether we trade pick 2 or not depends on the established mids on the trade table and free agency (then no need to trade). I think if we want genuine improvement next year we need two good mids aged 21-24

I don't disagree with you - he has size and class but I think he is like Kent (a midfielder playing forward because he doesn't have the tank). We need midfielders so let's develop mids and to do that I think both Kent and Taggert would be best at vfl (also to gain confidence). This is assuming the comments i have read regarding taggerts fitness are correct (hasn't had a preseason yet). Don't get me wrong tho I have high hopes for him - he is just what we need a tall and strong mid.
-
Taggert is just not ready and Jetta has had 1 good game. Can we even still play Magner? I don't know about Howe and Blease although I agree with the other changes.
-
Oh now I understand your post - was a little miss leading (did you even go too school?)Still don't agree with you though - why trade off two kpf's that we have been developing for 4-5 years and then get an 18 year old kpf when we are in desperate need of results. We can't just keep rebuilding and focusing on the future otherwise this club won't be around to see the results. By the time Boyd develops guys like Sylvia, Jones, Clark, Dawes and Frawely will be past their best.
-
Love seeing Hogan, Strauss and Taggert in the bests. Time for Strauss to play out the rest of the year. In afl (forward pocket) Taggert to start playing more midfield games for Casey.
-
So you are saying keep him on our list for 2 years and then trade him? First of all that is cold (that's an 18 year olds life you are playing with) Second you are expecting that in that two years he will improve and increase his trade value (don't forget our recent development has been like - cook, Morton, gysberts, watts, trengove, scully etc) Just trade the pick to a team desperate for kpf and that has an established young mid (we need results and we need them quick! ..and I am not talking just about the supporters)

Does the MFC deserve draft assistance?

Oh yer I am sure they will be happy to "settle" with pick 2 .... lol -
Does the MFC deserve draft assistance?
Young Dee replied to Sydney Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's not a matter of whether we "deserve" draft assistance but if we "need" it. If there was ever a case when a club needed draft assistance it is us and now. We will get it because we are a burden on the comp right now and right now we are down the fitzroy path (it is the afl job to stop that). Other clubs complain that we will waste the pick - fine you give us a good young mid and the pick is yours. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Young Dee replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
We all know that investigation could take years (they are probably trying to drag it out for so long that everyone forgets about it) I think they will make the announcement after the grand final (off season). Then they can begin to plan next years fixture with 17 teams. (Least we won't move down the ladder) -
I always get confused with resigns and re-signs. At first look I thought Michael Evans had retired .... Almost fell off my chair! If they are guilty Hird is going to look like a massive [censored]. Imagine how hard it will be for the afl to ban one off legends of the game.

It doesn't take a genius - all you need is a knife and a wrist and you can watch all the bad DNA flow out. This is followed by a simple process called the draft.
