  1. Not watching the game but: Toumpas: would like him to develop at Casey for at the first half of this year. Strauss: would like to see him get consistent game time at AFL but Clisby is probably ahead of him Nicho: dont want to see at AFL level again Clisby: Deserves a chance at AFL (good offensively but don't know what he is like one on one tho)
  2. He has great potential no doubt but whether he can reach his full potential is another thing. I am so sick of expecting potential to turn into results (Morton, Trengove, Gysberts, Watts, etc.) I love how since Roos has come in I have hardly given any thought to the likes of Harmes, Hunt, Salem, King, Toumpas etc. I am going to try and keep reasonable short term expectations on our young players (e.g. I hope Kent can claim a spot in the 22 by the end of the year - whether that's as a fp or wing)
  3. I think Garland needs at minimum - 1 game at Casey. As Dawes said: match conditioning is huge and that's probably even more important in the backline.
  4. Make a statement - no changes However - players I would like to see: Clisby, Strauss, Jamar, Blease. Players in the spotlight: Evans, Georgiou, Terlich and Howe (will probably stay due to potential)
  5. The Hawks smash everyone so its hard to really gain any perspective there - I thought they fought well tonight (especially early)
  6. Yep - a big crowd could help the boys to get over the line. However Gold Coast is now a pretty good side.
  7. Hopefully he can share that confidence with all the boys at Casey. Good effort today but can't wait for Garland and Hogan to come in.
  8. I don't mind it - their giving an honest prediction - isnt that what people keep asking for - some honesty on the website? Anyway its probably just copied from the AFL website.
  9. Do we have two Nicholson's in the team? I was hoping we had seen the last of Nicholson.
  10. If Garland could also come in for Georgiou that would be good but I don't think it will happen. Bail, Byrnes, Pedo and Fitzy are players that would be first to be replaced if possible. Would rather McKenzie, Trenners, Strauss or Jetta over Byrnes. With Clark now retired can we upgrade Jetta?
  11. Would be interesting to know what Roos sees in Strauss - time will tell. I still have hope for Strauss but it is no doubt his last roll of the dice.
  12. That would be great but I am not getting the same vibe (VFL and probably 60-70% game time)
  13. Pretty sure it’s due to structure and not form - if he can just bring the ball to ground then he is giving other forwards a chance (instead of always being outnumbered/muscled). We all know he can provide more than he has and as mentioned - concussion and rain do not help.
  14. It appears so - live updates here: http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/season/vfl/2014-results/practice-match-v-ais-afl-academy
  15. Really? Jones is about the only player I trust with ball in hand. I think he has become a very good penetrating kick.
  16. Peterson? - is that a nickname or just a typo? King is very raw and kids like him/salem/toumpas would benefit from a year at Casey
  17. Melbourne team: round three B: Alex Georgiou, James Frawley, Lynden Dunn HB: Jack Grimes, Tom McDonald, Dean Terlich C: Daniel Cross, Bernie Vince, Jack Watts HF: Matt Jones, Jack Fitzpatrick, Jack Viney F: Jeremy Howe, Cam Pedersen, Rohan Bail FOLL: Jake Spencer, Nathan Jones, Dom Tyson I/C (from): Jay Kennedy-Harris, Dean Kent, Shannon Byrnes, Jack Trengove, Michael Evans, Sam Blease, Dom Barry IN: Sam Blease, Jack Viney, Dean Kent, Michael Evans, Dom Barry OUT: Viv Michie, Jimmy Toumpas NEW: Dom Barry My final interchange would be: JKH, Kent, Evans (Sub in?) and Blease (Sub out?) Outs; Michie, Toumpas, Byrnes, Trengove, Barry Trenners probably won't be dropped but I think Evans could offer more run (speed). That interchange would give us plenty of leg speed. .... oh and Viney!!!!
  18. I have a soft spot for Strauss - maybe because he was a high draft pick he is harder to let go. Has speed and is a good kick (needs to adjust to AFL level)
  19. I think we should bring in Tappy solely for the purpose of cleaning up Scully... jks I would like to see us win some holding the balls - the only one I remember from this year is the Nathan Jones one - which Trengove decided to throw away!
  20. Pedersen on Patton - lol Otherwise some of those changes could work. I don't really like the idea of playing with our back line (Dunn, Frawely, McDonald, Garland, Grimes and Terlich) but I guess due to the lack of forwards/need for change we have no choice. I hope Strauss gets a game this week, Tappy/Jetta are slow but could provide some aggression in the forward line (rather him than Pedo or Byrnes). I really feel for the team - they must lack real confidence due to the lack of talls up forward. Kent must come in if fit. I can't see Viney or Garland coming in - maybe Gawn. Viney would make a big difference (could play forward pocket with midfield stintsor play as sub). Ins: Kent, Strauss, Blease, Tappy/Jetta and Gawn/Viney (if fit) Outs: M. Jones/Bail/Trengove, Spencer (if Gawns fit), Georgiou and Pedo/Fitzy
  21. The talented junior did not get much chance to show his wares with Greater Western Sydney, being restricted to 10 games in 2012 because of a shin complaint and then playing just three games in 2013 after overcoming a knee problem. Tyson is a tall midfielder who adds to the Demons’ midfield mix and is capable of bringing players into the game with his quick hands and competitive attitude. He has had two pre-seasons and, while he remains something of an unknown quantity at AFL level, he is expected to develop into a quality player in the next few years. Player honours: NAB AFL Rising Star nominee 2012. Previous AFL club: GWS Giants (2012-13: 13 games, 4 goals)
  22. I am sick of the media saying that he better be good cause Melbourne traded pick 2 for him.
  23. I think Bail is well ahead of Byrnes. Bail has speed, endurance and the ability to tackle and go in hard (you can't question his effort). Bail has also had good quality games - can't say the same for Byrnes. Byrnes can't really provide anything in the midfield. Bail had 22 touches and 7 inside 50's last week. Byrnes had 14 touches and 0 inside 50's. Without Key talls the forward line must apply lots of defensive pressure - small forwards like Bail and Byrnes should be laying at least 4 tackles. That's something I think really hurts us - the forwards need to show more desperation.
  24. Last week they obviously deemed Pedo and Byrnes not worthy of being striked down (wish they had been)
