  1. Don't think Hogan will win it but I can imagine him on stage receiving it. Fixing his hair then pointing to the trophy and saying "is that it?"
  2. I think I heard somewhere that he was helping out with recruiting (as a scout?)
  3. Not really a fan of player comparisons but on another note I hope that he has made the most of his year off. A years break could potentially be a good thing (like Hogan) - I imagine he has done a lot of footy analysis. Might also take a bit of pressure off too with Brayshaw, Hogan etc showing form.
  4. Viney doesn't need legs... they need him
  5. Think he was actually thinking "but I ducked... how short is this beast?"
  6. lol here is one for the good record list: "Although the result was a shock, the omens were bad for the Cats leading into the game. Melbourne has not lost when a player on the opposing team is recording his 300th game – having defeated teams including Leigh Matthews, Luke Power and Paul Salmon. The Cats have not won any of their three games when a player has celebrated 300 games." http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-06-21/five-talking-points-geelong-v-melbourne
  7. ? Defenders is something we have - don't forget Frost. Midfielders is I believe more important - Trengove may not return and if he does who knows what his fitness will be like. Petracca will effectively be a first year player and what if say god forbid Jones goes down next year? Midfielders, a young but promising Ruckman (maybe 22yrs?) and a Full forward (love Dawes endeavour but he is not looking promising)
  8. I couldn't care less about poster boys and don't really rate him either but was more thinking of the little kids. We can't expect to keep/attract young members if we don't win and play a boring brand of footy. At least through the dark days we had Jurrah, Wanna, Davey Robo etc
  9. Agreed - you could almost add Jetta to that list (amazing he is only 25 - feels like he's older). Problem is do any of the rest have much trade value? Howe is one that I think we could get something for but have to consider his value to the club (poster boy). Garland/Dunn - probably want to retain the few decent senior players on our list (but as you said comes down to offer) I predict that we will make around 6 - 8 delisting's depending on depth of draft and wether we can lure a free agent. Possible delisting's: McKenzie, Bail, Hunt, Riley, Terlich/Jones (how are they contracted till end of 2016? - maybe pay out contract(s)?) Possible trades: Howe, Fitzy/Dawes, Grimes (depending on small defender stocks), Toumpas (rather keep but depends on rest of year) Possible retirees: Jamar, Cross Needs: - a gun mid or 2 (to take pressure of Jones and lead the way for the young ones) - a quality Ruckman (Jamar is probably finished, Gawn is unpredictable and Spencer I don't rate all that highly) - a quality tall forward/2nd ruckman (Spencer/Gawn can really only play main ruck role, Dawes - not looking good, Fitzy - isn't great up forward, King - hard to tell)
  10. Who cares... we know how good he is!
  11. I guess that answers the question - How many Jesse Hogans does it take to beat Hawthorn? Now we just need to find another 4 and a half by next week...
