  1. Leading in to the start of last season was the “predicted best 22 thread”. 3/4 of posters had all of May, Lever and Oscar in their back 6. Then Frost came in and held his spot all year, there were even games when all four were available and Oscar didn’t play. Now according to some we only need a fit May and Lever as tall defenders. Also surprising is the lack of the conversation about the players around Frost this year, for if they were more up to the task we might not even be talking about this.
  2. Appreciate that Hibberd is still contracted, doesn’t mean we have to play him though. But we will....need some list rotation to keep things fresh.
  3. That an easy draw rjay, though I would like to make finals on the back off beating some of this years finalists not just the bottom teams twice.
  4. As mentioned earlier who’s plays on the two talls that some teams have? Lever May Jetta Salem Frost ? Hibberd can go, I’m personally over him, he’s 30 next year and it will be the last year of his contract. Too slow and not currently doing enough. We need to look to the future, then we’ve got Jetta who’s contracted for two more years. I think it’s better to start blooding someone new off half back next season and then look to replace Jetta the year after that. If we use pick 3 in the draft on someone quick that can kick the footy he could be used off half back with stints through the midfield. I’d prefer Frosty stay, he most likely won’t but regardless we also need to move on some other players.
  5. Tomlinson does nothing in the GF against the Tigers and you describe it as “Like every other Giants player out there, being overawed by the occasion.” Tigers would of most likely destroyed any other team last Saturday, and in the process make a lot of players look second rate. Was it after that performance that the Giants were happy to let him or go or had that seen enough of that earlier in his career? In last years preliminary final loss to WCE who went on to win the flag, we got destroyed in similar fashion to the Giants last week. The Eagles would of most like destroyed anyone that week and Kennedy would of kicked at least 4 on anyone with the amount of supply he had that day. Darling had his best season kicking 59 goals 18 behinds. He kicked multiple goals on multiple defenders, most likely even against teams that competed in the finals. In a season where the team as whole capitulated Frost is one of a handful of players that played well. He may of been beaten on occasions but he also shutdown his fair share of forwards.
  6. Apologies, I’m confused. I thought that’s what I was getting out. What did you think I said? Or do you mean that by his turnovers he creates goals for the opposition hence not stopping them? And against if that is the case what is everyone else doing?
  7. Agree to disagree on Frosty Wise, Frosty can play on more than just the KPF. I believe we could have May, Lever and Frost in the same side if we got more creative/damaging drive from our two back flankers and wingers.
  8. In response to Nick Dal Santo : Why is Frost the problem? What is the primary role of key defender? We have a key defender that can on his day beat the best fwds in the comp, his speed is an asset when attacking the footy to spoil a mark or chase down an opposing player. He also uses his speed to run and carry and break lines, this does result in a lot of turnovers. Why does Frost continually do this? Can we either work with him on his disposal or make those around him accountable? What exactly is Hibberd good for? How did people view his season? Salem his generally a good user of the footy but how damaging is he? Does he take the game on enough or does he play it too safe? Surely there’s room for his game to go to another level. Couldn’t agree more, primary job of a key defender is to shut down opposition key fwds. He does in spades.
  9. Wasn’t there a few games when May, Lever and Frost played together?
  10. That’s currently the case for the majority of the list at the moment. I think it would be a fair guess to say we’re paying a few based on potential or their name.
  11. If Joel Smith is fully fit and gets a good run at it, how would his game compare to Tomlinson?
  12. A lot of posters talking about other posters overrating Frost. I think we all know where Frost is at, can’t blame him for wanting more money, it’s only natural. The two most overrated players on Demonland in recent history are Hogan and Petracca, at least Hogan could dominate the weaker sides.
  13. What’s he asking? I would love to know what players are getting starting with Petracca, Viney and Hibberd.
  14. Regardless of what anyone else is doing, we’re only interested in one player, and for how much a season?
  15. Besides Melksham who from our side can kick it from outside fifty? Not many names come to mind.
  16. Salem’s disposal is pretty decent at times.
  17. With regards to GCS citing keeping the mates together as justification for picks 1 & 2. Hasn’t one of the Adelaide boys from last year not re signed whilst the other has?
  18. We’re all aware of Frost’s pro’s and cons, I really hope we keep him.
  19. What I take from that is he’s happy for someone to clean him up come next weekend.
  20. How good is King? We still need midfield class if we are serious about competing. I understand scoring was an issue this year but I believe that can be addressed easier than our midfield problems.
  21. I’d like to think we’re still looking at drafting in some small forwards. Always need to have an eye to the future as well as the present.
  22. If Kings that good trade Petracca for him and keep our early pick.
  23. Would love Frosty to stay. Yes his disposal at times is a concern, if we had some more class around him this wouldn’t be such an issue. I often wonder where our salary cap goes looking at our list we must have a few players cleaning up.
