The DL trifecta works for the first time. What a battle that was down the straight. Very brave by Le Romain and we almost had a $10 winner in the tri. Showtime third by a nostril, phew.

Dothraki loomed as the winner but as the caller noted the horse’s run stopped quickly. Plenty of racing left to make amends.

Showtime Hartnell was the other obvious choice but I couldn’t fit 3 into 2 and wanted to add some value, not that it would make much of a difference anyway. Good point, when Roughead marked the ball in the last quarter on his own about 30 metres out from a pass that came from the boundary someone posted Wagner had a few words to say to Lewis. I didn’t see that but sitting at the bottom of the Ponsford a few of us noticed Max getting stuck into three teammates and the gestures indicated that those players weren’t in the right spot leading up to the play or filling the hole like they should. The disappointing thing out of all that was that all 3 players turned their back on him and walked away without even acknowledging Max. We slumped back in our seats wondering if there was any care factor after that.
