    What really annoys me about Dwayne Russell (amongst other things) is he cannot say anything positive about Melbourne without also saying something negative. Case in point was when he was talking about Dom Barry and how he came from Ballarat.

    I'm watching the replay now and I'm actually comfortable when Dunn has the ball in his hand. He's always had the skill, he's just playing within his means now.

    For me he still looks a scared of the contest, it's what holds Watts back and held Morton back. The kid can play, but it's this physicality that is a concern.

    That would have been when he was drafted, he would be a few kilograms heavier now.

    The problem is the ones with good skills (Strauss, Tapscott, Toumpas and even Blease) can't find the ball.

    Fairly average, same with Toumpas but it was a team-effort so individual performances are almost irrelevant.

    I'm more excited by the way Melbourne played than the result, especially considering the fact that most of the forward line was missing yet we were still able to kick a decent score.

    For me the highlight was there was no standout player and that the whole team looked to play within their limitations.

    Why didn't anyone mentioned JKH in the training reports... You don't need to look at a stat sheet to know this kid has what it takes.

    Agreed. I just don't see it with Spencer, but a lot to like about Max.

    Dunn looks like a batsman with talent who's simplified his technique and doesn't look for boundaries on every ball.

    Physically he's almost perfect, he just doesn't have it between the ears.

    I think it all depends in how teams classify their injuries, Melbourne has a lot of players not available for Friday but who aren't on the injury list.

    My guess is that today was the first time that teams had to put together their injury lists and that Clark's 3 to 4 weeks isn't a new injury, they have just quantified it finally.
