I want to see players get the ball and actually run hard with it, not just sell their teammate into trouble. Jones, Lumumba and Jetta are the only players who take the game on and run, even in tight situations, but they do it with speed.

Why would an AFL football even consider kicking across the face of goal deep in defence? Players will make mistakes when under pressure, tired or when rushed but what Viney did should never happen. The idea of kicking across the face of goal should not even enter his mind. It's like suddenly deciding that drinking battery acid is a good idea, it just should not ever happen, especially from a free kick with no pressure.

I've defended Viney a lot but he should not play in round 1.

I would like to see Melbourne players actually take the ball and run a bit (quickly) instead of just handpassing off in a panic. That's what Nathan Jones and Jetta are good at.

Why do Melbourne players look sideways first? The first option should always be to the corridor, becuase that's the best option. Looking sideways and backwards should be the last option.

Absolutely, too slow by mind, by hand and the first five steps of most players are in first gear, they need to jump straight to third and then fifth gear in that time.

I feel like in general Melbourne are just a second or so too slow to make a decision and execute. The good teams know what they are doing before they get the ball.
