POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Is there a table somewhere that shows the scores we need in the St Kilda and Sydney game to hold on to second spot?

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Percentage watch is going to be intense this weekend.

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
I know none of those changes will happen, more just a reflection that we need some change because the current formula won’t stand up.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Great call about Carlton missing their midfield. We should have the best contested midfield and ruck combination and yet we often get beaten in that area.

My 3 word player analysis V Carlton
I’d prefer eight goals and one tackle. Forwards are there to kick goals (something we struggle to do now) so the obsession with forward tackles for a player like Fritsch is weird to me.

The Run Home
Sydney are a better team than us and playing on the small SCG won’t help. I’d prefer we play Collingwood but we are very far from certain to make top four so not worrying about that yet.

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Jordon just isn’t suited to a wing because he’s a handbrake. His best position is midfield or as the sub. We need more run and penetration off a wing so our forward entries are deeper and not just high balls to a pocket.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We can still win the thing but it will require changes because the current formula isn’t good enough.

VOTES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
In a time when we can’t buy goals, Melksham kicks four and he isn’t top vote getter for everyone? I love Petty but come on, people.

My 3 word player analysis V Carlton
We’ve looked a worse team this year since Salem has been back.

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Joel Smith or JVR in the forward line to create some dynamic contests. Bowey in for Salem who has been awful all year. Harmes in to tag Neale and remain a tagger for rest of his career because that’s where he plays his best football. ANB or Spargo out because they simply do not provide the crumbing up forward we need. Ben Brown out even though Weideman hasn’t been good we seem to play better with him in the team. I prefer Weideman to Jackson (contract distracted) as the second ruck at the moment. Get Jordon the handbrake off the wing. Do we have a better option than Sparrow?

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I fully stand by these comments. That last three minutes was wallpaper over cracks.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
There needs to be a minimum for four changes for next week. A totally complacent team playing a style that has been worked out with a forward line that couldn’t kick straight if their lives depended on it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
If Brown doesn’t kick this he’s dropped.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We are no chance of winning this. We do not look like kicking another goal tonight.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
This. Same team each week as well doesn’t help, need some players with hunger.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Salem has been rubbish all year, bring back Bowey.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Every single kick forward is to a pack with no crumbers. Spargo and ANB dying out there. This is so bad.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Won’t win this game let alone a final missing these sitters. We are the worst set shot team in the competition and it shows.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We might not even make it into the Dangerzone tonight.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Viney constantly running on to his right side is infuriating.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
He got off.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
He’ll get off.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
I think Cripps is a little unlucky and I always err on the side of suspending players for bumps. In this case it was more clumsy than malicious, but as we know the AFL are all about outcomes. For the record, all intentional punches, bumps (to the head) and strikes no matter how minor should be a suspension as it is the only way to remove it from the game.

Demons will win the flag in 2022.
Too complacent (see Dangerzone) and not hungry enough.
