So the intention of this rule was originally to stop abuse at local level football because umpiring numbers were falling away. Don't see how this works as 90% of abuse at those levels comes from over the fence. They're tackling the problem with the wrong solution.

Not as good as people believing Tom should have been looking at the posts, the line, the ball and the opposition all at the same time. His main focus would have been the ball I'm sure. Also just as many on here go to great lengths to pump up Weid's mediocre performances.

Completely correct, been done to death and over analysed by people who have no idea what was going through Tom's mind, or what his perception was about where he was regarding the posts, goal line other players etc.

Contested marks probably relate mostly to one game, the Essendon game. Goes missing for long periods in games too many times in my opinion.

Tom could've perhaps should've kicked 4 goals on Saturday. Ones he missed were quite kickable.

Do people realise Weid has only taken 1 mark in each of the past 2 games. 3 or 4 goals we can only hope.
