Yes Macca....looks like everyone else copied our tactics...........that will teach us to post on Demonland!!! Pretty average day in the end. I did make the call on Fuhryk tho....and he completely missed the start, if not he was the winner i reckon......but as some famous poster said on here recently....thats racing!

Yes well Macca, there you have it. A bit hard to overlook the dominant Pike in a race like this. If you think he can get beaten, then perhaps quinella him with something else. Fuhryk is an interesting runner. This horse had a few problems and the trainers said they couldn't get him right......then they said theyd fixed the problem and well....it came out and smashed them at Caulfield over 1100. But then it went to Flemington in a Grp 3 and failed. But Oliver is on board here and maybe it might come good again. Rock Magic can go ok i think, dont know much about the rest of the field, so ill be sticking with W Pike and also for the rest of the day. How did you go in your form searches? Actually, looking through Pykes rides, the first 3 runners are all under 2/1 for the win, so wont pay anything for the place.....next ride is 3.30 but is the horses 2nd start, the next one is a 14/1 donkey and State Soliciter seems his best odds for a place so....it wont quite be the ATM of last weekend im afraid....still ill take something into something im sure.

Oh dear! Yes i think i remember Shakespearean Lass?......you would have done ok on the all up tho? 85 /1 is ok! But yes i know the feeling. Myself and a mate were putting on FFs on an Emirates Stakes day a few years back. I was adamant i had the winner at 17/1. Then i also wanted to put this horse in for 4th who had only ever missed a place once in about 10 starts. My mate said we didnt have enough money left to put it in. Of course my horse won which we had 1 out and the horse we left out ran 4th.......we had 80% and it paid 185,000. So yeah i know the feeling.........Thats Racing, but sometimes common sense needs to prevail!!

I was just having a look at the Moonga Stakes at Caulfield back in March won by Voodoo Lad ( a fav of mine). Dan Zephyr had a pretty good run, looks like the weights might have beaten him at the end there, but it was up there most of the way. Yes well Macca, thats the strategy indeed. Because you have situations like yesterday where one leg got shot because the horse got injured at the barrier, which was my second leg. No subs in Parlays (although there damn well should be!) Several shorter legs helps with that one or two bad legs, such as Silverstream yesterday. There is that bet stratergy however where you can miss a leg by pushing another button, and it allows the carry over, despite one leg missing, although i tried it once and it didnt seem to pay very much at all and it cost double to put on i think?? Ill have to investigate again. But he certainly put on a clinic yesterday and does it regularly over there as he gets a lot of good rides. Well im certainly keen to have another go, im a fair way in front now. Still dont want to give it back too quick. Had several reds in Mr Pykes honor last night. Oow my head.

Yes i thought it was the Winterbottom. Not sure what the Kingston Town race is all about, but ill have a look. WA Pyke had 6 placings out of a possible 7 races. So ill just parlaying him for the next few weeks.....i honestly thought hed retired. Thanks for punting again.

Excellent work there Macca. I am also on the WA Pyke get out stakes! I actually only need him to run a place and all will be well. How many more Ascot Carnival race meets are there? I think its 1 more isnt it??

Ok nice work then Macca. Yes WA Pyke is just continuing on another 1st in the previous race. only one he missed the horse was scratched at the barrier after injuring itself...... I noticed England was 5.50....not bad. If they can get to 220 plus, you know what we are like chasing a low score! Good luck in the multiples.

Im now doing a W Pyke all up... Hes had 4 races so far and hes got 1st/3rd/1st/2nd.....hes unreal isnt he?.......needs to change his initials to ATM Pyke!

Big electrical storm here in Ballarat. Heavy rain for 30 mins, track a bit chopped up past the winning post, but otherwise ok. Need the rain for the vege garden!! Havent heard anything much except the usual follow Weir, drink beer. I do like Grey Lion, Second Bullet and Mr Garcia in the Cup. The rest are pretty tricky. In Perth i see W Pike is still ridding around and ill be on him and Silverstream. I also like Scales of justice (local fav i believe) and Black Heart Bart i always bet on regardless. Good luck with the multiples.....im going to do a quad, but not confident.

Oh that Ascot...haha. Railway Stakes and all that.......I remember making a good dollar on W Pike over there, was always a good thing. Yes ill be having a look so ill see you on here then! Cheers I do notice the only Waterhouse runner (Long Time Ago) for the day is in this last race at 19/1.....seems odd to just bring 1 horse and a long shot at that....they had a good carnival so you never know!

That 9th race was a terrific finish....Oliver from the back of the field ..early......Ive only got 1 all up left Macca....Hellova Street into Crystal Dreamer..into ....Petition in the last. Ok well GB had an away win last week and back at home this week. The kid qbck is obviously learning the ropes. Rodgers looks like he may play again this season. Ill come over to the NFL thread. Im know little of the American sports but im ok with the soccer. You always get odds because of the draw leg. I threw the kitchen sink at Honduras because they beat Mexico and i thought the way the aussies had been playing......well. Anyway, we qualified so it was a win after all. Thats some really interesting things you pointed out there. I follow Green Bay, but im still learning the rules of the game. I will have to pay more attention.I I aslo agree with you about the amount of legs. I rarely take more than 3. I have a mate who religiously takes 20 leg multis on American Basketball..and he went hard on the outlays...and yep he eventually got one after about 2 years of trying and won around 20000k. Ive taken Burning Front into Crystal Dreamer.

Yes well thats about the size of it. Its a lot harder than it looks this race. Peaceful State is an interesting runner. 2 runs for a win and a 3rd. Could be anything. I note DK Weir runs his horses up hill on his 1400m training track at home. Sandown straight is uphill. If i join the dots..... I think its, "The more you know, the more you realize you dont know".....feels that way anyway! One particular form of punting that i like is the old Parlay or All up. I know you understand it, but i will explain for anyone who doesn't. You can go win and/or place and/or quinella or any combination of these.....you can skip races, and select more than 1 runner. Today for instance im looking at Crystal Dreamer and Burning Front in the early races into Almandin and Petition later on. The best thing about punting this way is that you use THEIR money and not yours. In other words if you have 3 legs, you only outlay once, on the first leg. That then rolls over into the next leg, but the winnings are from the TAB not your pocket. Thus you bet with TAB allotted outlay on all the subsequent runners. If you lose, you only lose your initial investment. If you win after 3 or 4 legs, you win many times your initial outlay as you know. Thats my take on it anyway. Good punting you guys.

Gday Macca.. The Guineas often throws up the outsider as the winner, because a lot of those horses are at the end of their tether by this race. A good field leg in a quaddie. I like Taj Mahal too. Ran very well last time. I think you have the trifecta there at least! The running doubles and quinellas pay ok. Pools should still be good. Good luck with those FFs. There is one more horse i like called Burning Front, DK Weir. As one well known sporting identity put it today, its had 37 placings from 53 starts.......its not a racehorse, thats what you call an ATM.

Thought the fields tomorrow looked pretty good. Some interesting races. Race 5 is a good one. I like Lucky Hussler who won his only start here, mixes it up a bit, pulled up sore last time so maybe he wasnt right. Also like Hellova Street. Ill be following Weir again and he has some good runners going around. Almandin should get the biccies here with Ollie back on board and Lloyd loves this race. Robert Hickmont (ex demon player) last gasp for the stables b4 he goes out on his own. What do you guys think?
