  1. Well i got the Quaddie with a 4 dollar investment.....so ill take their money.......but strange i got that, but i still managed to screw up the parlays! Crystal Dreamer is a beauty. There was an old surf flick called Crystal Voyager and had some early Pink Floyd music, i used to love it, had the soundtrack for years......think thats why i picked it originally or why it caught my eye....haha. Bad luck on that FF....very very close. Has Bowman got a ride in that Japan race?
  2. Tell me you got that ff!? Its paid really well.....
  3. Hi D77, thank you indeed, there was a protest of course on the last race. The winner shifted across on the 2nd horse and clearly interfered, and the margin was half a neck. However another horse seemed to push the winner across....so maybe that was why it was dismissed. i was sure being horse 13 it was going to be upheld. But yes i will take it indeed and i wouldnt have got it if i hadnt been following Dan because i dont normally bother with Saturdays outside the main seasons.......so Dans beena winner to me! Cheers
  4. Top run. There is no doubt hes a good horse. i thought they would quinella for sure with 100m to go, very unlucky not to run a place. On a lighter note, ive got the first 3 legs of the quaddie with a 4 dollar bet for 33%...ha. only 1 pick in the last the fav. no 13 of course...
  5. Oh yeah, i also wanted to mention now the Spring Carnival is over, you can catch every race live on line these days if anybody didnt know......... (Doesn't cover Ascot tho). https://www.racing.com/live-vision.aspx
  6. I really like Silverstream also. Guess you are right, many good runners in this race. Boxed a few up for a trifecta....for the rest ill concentrate on Caulfield and see how we go.
  7. Yes, i was just saying its an unknown, but the weight advantage is great. There are actually some good races on today at Caulfield. I like Crystal Dreamer in the race after Dans........have put both in my quaddie! I also had a little go at R2 Good Therapy into R6 My Psychiatrist .....couldnt resist.
  8. Im sure your "mate" is confident, and probably not without reason......however, it can be a demon (intentional pun) of a track and really seems to suit some horses although Ive never really known why. If hes had a good win there however, that is a good thing. All his other runs may have had various other factors against him. 11/1 is about right i guess, maybe slightly short. Its a good 4, so should suit. Im not totally sold on the jockey, but i really wouldnt know.
  9. Ok thanks D77. Standing by for the late mail.
  10. Wow what races they were. Hadnt seen the Fairy King Prawn race before, that was epic. The mare of the world was right. We must all be around the same vintage i guess. Excellent history lessons guys.
  11. Ah i see ok yes thats pretty much how i do things as well. We had some sort of Quaddie system......everyone had their picks and if more than 1 person picked the same horse, then that horse would get 2 or 3 points and so on. Thus we had a range of horses and a range of points......it was pretty funny watching everyone try to figure it out, usually at the track after a few beers with about 3 mins left to get it on after the arguments finished!....Your right, online is way more sensible..
  12. How do you and your mates pick 1 or 2 horses....? We had some sort of points system going for a while but it was too complicated!! Ok post away, ill be here
  13. Yes well pretty close though. Pounamu was certainly a good pick, and you said it would be a blanket finish also. Ok so it goes on and on..no rest for us.......well id be interested to hear your thoughts on the 1400 WFA next week.
  14. FF did pay very well. I dont think many people would have had Material Man, i did, then i took it out! Also typical. I had Alchemar Star for third somehow and the Jewel of course. But yes bet small to win big, no real loss there. Onwards and upwards, might go check my small investments in Crypto currency for the 3rd time today.....was a good week for them actually.
  15. Pounamu! Well picked Macca. I didnt see the vision, but it sounded like Black Heart Bart copped a big check and that was his race.....I think a lot of these are too tired now. Like you said its a long way to go to Perth.
  16. Yeah easy from the grandstand i guess, and split second decisions.....but hey we know that, we follow the Dees! A jockey also said after the last race, it was impossible to make up ground. The Quaddie paid 123k. Definitely a roughies day.
  17. Jockey went the wrong way after a good start i thought. reckon he should have cut back inside, but ended up in a stash on the outside. Also wasnt suited in the ground, but he wasnt that far off in the end all things considered....
  18. Just had a look again at the field. Dan is holding at 7.50 and 2.50. They still rate it a soft 7 on the internet. A friend of mine has a rule of the thumb he goes by and ive watched him win a lot over the years on strange picks. He reckons a horse should have 3 runs in and placed at their last start (so must have placed on its 3rd run).....i must admit ive used that formula myself and have often found it works. Some fields of course have multiple runners on their 3rd run with a place at the last start and some fields only have one. Today Dan Zeph goes around the only horse in the field to have had 3 runs and was placed at his last start.....
  19. Ok interesting, ill have to sit down and have a look at that, 21% is pretty good too, as group races tend to have some money in the pools. I usually pick a standout to win, although sometimes i put it second as many picks just get beaten. If you can pick the winner, its gives you a wider range (more horses) in the other legs.....going on that theory, i hope to fluke the other 3. Maybe ill try both systems tomorrow and see how we do. Thanks for that Macca, most interesting.
  20. Ok, its game on for the Zeph! Thats great txt, been a long time since ive seen one of those. Theres a bit of wind around so the track might dry out. Interesting about riding the horse cold. Maybe thats the key! Who knows....thanks D77. Ill be watching with great interest. Lets hope theres no rain overnight.
  21. Ok so its pretty interesting field with some excellent odds to be had. I notice WPyke takes the ride on Perfect Jewel 6/1 is juicy odds. You have to chuck Tom Melbourne in as a roving banker cuse you know hes gonna run 2nd. Out of interest, how do you pick your FFs Macca. Do you prefer a standout horse if you find one. It always seems to expensive to box them all up type thing and thus i usually avoid.....but i might have a bit of a go this time.
  22. Yeah hes a nice looking beast, needs to go round in Dees colors tho.....see what you can do and maybe we can get him on the Banner!! You didnt tell me how he goes in the soft ground tho??
  23. Its a good point Diamond Jim, i also feel i know him. Perhaps one day they could run him in Demon colors!
  24. Well he cant take a trick re the barrier draws but hes due for a break soon. At least in longer races sometimes its not so much of a handicap.....looks like a soft track, how does he go in that sort of ground? I like Burning Front and watch out for that Waterhouse Bott lightwieght missile at the bottom there, one of only 3 runners they have sent down. Maybe your quinella with those two. Good luck D77 Ill be watching on! I like De Little Engine in the Cup race, was flying home last start although he doesnt seem to win much these days. Quinella with Grey Lion. Have you come up with the form for The Kingston Town yet Macca? Whos W Pyke on this time!??
  25. Yeah, as i always say, some weeks you make a deposit and other weeks its a withdrawal....either way its a bank. Last saturday was definitely a deposit. I shall have a look at the form from the Railway then. Thanks. Any news on Dan Zepher D77??
