A Day at the Races
Gold. I got the quinella, so cant complain i guess. Missed the tri by leaving out Prince of Arran, didnt know it had Melbourne colors as i went to bed before those posts went up, or i may have thrown it in. But you cant have them all. Pity about the rain. Ace High had a good race till the turn and the distance and wet track beat it in the end. Hell be back. Was that the drought breaker for Godolphin? Their first cup??

Thanx Macca, thats really good info. Since im in Croatia, i just adjust the name to Rostropivic and it becomes the omen bet! After the lightweight 3 yo from last year, that everyone said no way can a 3yo win a Cup....well, it is what it is. So Toms had a little flutter huh? Dads not getting the paintbrush out again is he?? Yep there are 10 or 12 chances, thats for sure and a lot will just depend on the run of the race, so keep an eye on the experienced jockeys.

A Day at the Races
Which was the other 3yo.... If Ace gets up Macca....it will be Dancing in Dubrovnik!

A Day at the Races
Mmmm.....interesting comment DZ. I do now remember the Caulfield Cup run, it stood out and was all the talk last year before the Cup. Dont think Bowman rode it last year? Didnt Vengeur Masque run well also? What are peoples other thoughts on Cup Eve? The 3yo...any chance? The above comments almost seem like a Joeboy 3 word analysis! Also just looking through the race card for the day, its always so bad. When is that gonna change? So many other race days have been vamped up to the max. Darby Day now has many rival days for instance. Its the VRCs day of days and yet we have listed race BM90s or some rubbish. So many people turn to Cup Day that know nothing about racing and want to learn about it and they get served up that rubbish. I find it strange to be honest. Also i mean i hate to mention the bleeding obvious but... The Shieks horse has won its last 4 races including the Caulfield Cup at 16/1 when the jockey was saying it was a great horse from a great trainer and in any other race in the world no way would it be 16s, but thats ok cause it takes the pressure off me. I mean.....is there something im missing here?

A Day at the Races
Certainly a hard one this year. Lloyd Williams cant be dismissed. Call me mad, but im sticking with Ace High. At least the odds are good. I will have another one i like though, just thinking about the others.....Bowman is on Marmello, ran last year didnt it?

A Day at the Races
Stunning return to form there Macca. You had a bit of a mid season slump, much like our Illustrious Dees, but you came home with a wet sail to blow us out of the water. The BB strike rate went up a click and now we turn to the great race on tuesday.

A Day at the Races

-
A Day at the Races
Its just not a strong Darby. Sometimes they are, and sometimes they aint. This year it doesnt look like it. But is something hiding? Find out soon enough i guess.
-
A Day at the Races
That bought home a few multis. If Thinking Big gets up, i might have to fly the Day at the Races crew over! (Ryan Air of course)

A Day at the Races

A Day at the Races
Reporting in from Naples....it not the beer that kills ya here! Hey they won 5-1, so the town is rockin tonight! I got a 990/1 6 7 leg all up going with the first 3 legs, Ranier, El Dorado Dreaming (plc) and Osborne bulls all saluting and Patrick Erin (plc) scratched!!...(which will drastically reduce any return of course), but hey! Is there a cash out offer for the final legs?.....nope.... Well done on your selection Macca, very well spotted. Melb Cup beckons.
