  1. Great viewing. Better than Foxtel.
  2. Watts - pick 1 Trengove - pick 2 Hogan (Scully#1 compensation?) also Kennedy was pick 10 for the Pies (before we swapped for Howe/Toumpas#3) p.s. And Tyson was originally pick 2 when GWS drafted him
  3. I have seen Petracca on the park at training and I doubt that you will be disappointed when he plays his first match.
  4. I have seen Petracca on the park at training and I doubt that you will be disappointed when he plays his first match.
  5. Oliver is an absolute gun.i look forward to Round One when he will be in the team!
  6. It was mentioned recently in the press and particularly good news for Port as it might free up a lazy $1M for them. Perhaps a positive spin for our Club might be the extra salary cap we have next year in addition to the new recruit in Melksham.
  7. Or Trengove Tackle Mark III.
  8. I knew what you were saying and Watts, M. Jones and Oliver were also applying pressure further up the ground. The other 17 teams will have a different Melbourne to contend with over the next few years!
  9. There was a sixth guy in our forward half: Hogan!
  10. Frankly, of the four points, I would be quite content to only hear him state the last one. It is all we need!
  11. No harm in more than one nominee for Rising Star.
  12. Is Kennedy still eligible? What are the criteria?
  13. On another matter he looked awesome at training today.
  14. There are a high note number of MCC members who religiously take out a MFC membership as well. In the MCC reserve there are the same passionate supporters every week we play there, packing the Reserve when the often other sections of the ground are nearly empty. I never miss a Dees match at the G where in contrast I haven't attended a cricket match in 49 years of MCC membership. Back onto Oliver, I can't wait to watch him debut this Saturday as we towel the Power and, like many on this thread, see him playing as many games this year as Brayshaw did but having an even greater impact. Shame it's not at the "G" but still fun down the pub with a few mates over a late counter.
  15. I am presuming that Petracca and Trengrove might be two of the players that you referred to as 'etc'?
  16. How many games did Voldemort play if any?
  17. If we are getting a "top-up" on the same basis as Essendon, he will need to have been on an AFL list over the last two years!
  18. Not too silly an idea. Not only would it: 1) allow us Cross's experience and skill, (for both MFC & Casey); 2) free up a salary in our 2016 coaching budget (which will increase our flexibility); 3) give us a player intimately familiar with Roos/Goodwin's game plan; and 4) be popular with the playing group.
  19. CBDees replied to P-man's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Emma also had Ben Kennedy at #10, given that both Daniher and Viney were locked away as FS picks.
  20. On current performance, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gill took the AFL out of WADA merely so that EFC effectively did not have to incur their penalties. As it is, with top-up players etc they are trying to minimise the hurt as much as possible. If they did this, then Melksham and the others would be able to play this year also.
  21. I am not worried about Melksham as we escaped lighter compared with the Saints and PA who gifted Esendon first round picks and now lose potentially key players, whereas they they could have drafted Parish etc. l am concerned however that the AFL are doing everything in their power to minimise any adverse effect on Essendon. It is ludicrous that the AFL are manipulating their own rules to allow the players to continue to be paid whilst sitting out the year, a decision completely contrary to the spirit of the court ruling. Of ourse this comes as no surprise when you consider that EFC paid Hird a $M to holiday in France. Finally, I am astounded that the AFL will further compensate EFC by enabling them to recruit ten "top-up" players in addition to promoting their five rookies. The ten players concerned will obviously be at the expense of VFL Clubs and other leagues who stand to lose what are their best players at the onset of the season through no fault of their own. l think that the penalties imposed on the 34 should be just that : Penalties! That the EFC is also damaged is how it should be as it was them (and Hird) who initiated the drug regime, not the players themselves.
  22. Exactly my sentiments. Shame however that Casey effectively lose a good player from their list, however l am one that subscribes strongly to the view that the effected Clubs, particularly Essendon, should be topped up. If they were, the big losers would be the VFL (& the SAFL) through no fault of theirs.
  23. Congrats Jack for the 2015 AFL "tackle of the year"! (Only sorry that l don't know how to paste the link.)
  24. I get the feeling that Oliver won't be featuring too heavily in the Casey reports this year and that he will replicate Brayshaw in his Round 1 debut. Looking at the seconds reports shall be confined to salivating over Weideman.
  25. Wouldn't it be nice if Clayton Oliver were to make his AFL debut off the interchange during the 2016 Grand Final!
