This point is exactly why they can't charge us, they failed to define the line between list management, experimentation and tanking or even define tanking in the first place, poor rule, poor definitions and the AFL is paying the price of looking like a joke for it,

I understand this could be seen as a silly question by some, but specifically what does the AFL mean by " bringing the game into disrepute"? because the other two charges live and die with dean bailey, can't see how they could even hope for those to hold up.

Totally agree, IF he can put it all together he can play at an All Australian level and be the difference in alot of close games which in recent years has been the difference between 14th and 8th for alot of teams.

What a disgrace! She clearly doesn't like the MFC, has really dodgey sources and doesn't take her career very seriously to post such garbage, when we are found to have no case to answer for i can't imagine her being stupid enough to publish anything negative again.

Out of curiosity, if and i believe when we are found to have no case to answer for what result would you deem acceptable? In terms of other teams being investigated, AFL possible compensating, wilson getting what she deserves?

No reason this shouldn't be used if this ends up in court, just makes the grey area with this more and more obvious.

May have been as simple as he didn't buy in fully to neelds plans or neeld and co didn't see him in their vision of the future, nothing against him or his habbits. I really hope he does show everyone what sorta talent he has at North, but i also hope pederson shows he was a good target for us as well.

The AFL will have no one to blame but themselves for whatever mess becomes of this, at the end of the day it comes back to a terrible priority pick rule.

The whole thing is an absolute joke, not sure how they plan to explain how so many teams didnt cop what we have. Terry Wallace admitted not doing anything in the box, by the standards they have set for us he should be in more trouble than Dean Bailey.

Grimes, trengove, N.jones, toumpas, viney, blease, howe, M.jones, byrnes, rodan, davey, bail, mckenzie, midfield already looks alot better than last year to me would really like to see grimes and nathan jones push for All Australian this year

We have put up with enough off field troubles, i'm sure we will be better for having been through that and we can take a big stride towards becoming a contender next season! Up the Dees!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but some of these articles are very slanderous, particularly when we may well be found to have no case to answer for. It's really quite simple, they shouldn't open their mouths unless they know exactly what they're talking about. If we are found guilty we deserve whatever anyone gives us, until then they should on the most part be more respectful and at least be open minded to the idea that we may not be found guilty.

Full back line Dunn- Kicking and ability to play tall are huge assets! Frawley- Number one defender, at his best All Australian standard Nicholson- Huge endurance base, quick and showed great signs last year Half Back line Terlich- it's probably just me but this guy seems to have abit of heath shaw about him, good skills and rebounding McDonald - Probably the most exciting prospect on our list in my opinion! potential to be one of the comps best defenders for the next decade Watts- Expecting big strides from him this year, good skills and may have finally found his position

I really like the look of Dom Barry, skinny lad but looks to have some real class and poise about him,

Not much love for nicholson on here. B. Dunn Frawley Garland HB. watts mcdonald nicholson very dependant on opponent but i imagine players like toumpas and grimes might rotate through half back quite abit.

Could his injury be a blessing in disguise? Maybe less expectation being placed on him because of an injury in the pre season will help him to get some real confidence in his own game with a little bit less pressure?

Would we have the cap room to afford someone like that and still be safe if a couple of players really improve in the next 2 years and look for bigger contracts? paying dawes and co decent money would leave a dent

I think if he is open to a move the MFC would be insane not to inquire about him.

Western Bulldogs 18.GWS can't see there being a huge gap in wins from about 7-15 wouldn't be surprised to see MFC's draw being enough to have people feeling they might be a chance at sneaking into the 8 for the first half of the year then perhaps falling away in the second half through just being a young team and tiring abit, hoping for some good signs though!

Awesome read mate! loved reading something from someone with a little bit of sense. I really think alot of these reporters are going to look quite silly when this tanking situation is over, fairly confident if the AFL had something that would hold up as evidence for a charge they would have done it weeks or months ago, i believe they may be looking to deal with MFC to work out an outcome in the best interests of both parties as they have realised they can't get out of this without looking like stupid kids on a witch hunt.

I am not the most knowledgeable on this topic as all i know is what the media is blabbering on about but the thing that i think is the most unfair is that libba has said carlton tanked and Terry Wallace said " i sat there and did nothing" which would be not coaching to his upmost, exactly what they're trying to charge Dean Bailey with. I am bias but to me that is blatant discrimination and i can't see how any neutral court won't see it that way, we're the only team being targeted. Seems the AFL just wants a way out that won't make them look stupid. Also what i've read in the papers and on the net has been disgusting to say the least, if Melbourne FC don't recieve charges they should definately persue that.

I would be more interested in Quinton Lynch than Travis cloke personally, Cloke is a great contested mark granted, but he wants far more than he is worth unless he is in top form for 5 years straight, Lynch would cost far less, and fill the second tall role then we have more money to spend on getting our midfield up to scratch, i'd be tempted to mix up howe's time forward abit, he is too good a mark not to have in a dangerous position more of the time, then throw strong offers to Clint Young and Shannon Byrnes to get abit of experience, quality disposal and hard bodies into the mix and throw the kitchen sink at goddard, he may be gone but if there is any chance he would be well worth it, his on and off the field contribution would be huge for the young players and fans, if we get all of that, we would be a much different side next year, Boak would be an ideal addition to our midfield, not sure how realistic getting him is but we have the picks and we have the money so i suppose there has to be some chance there

We need to recruit a better midfield to be quite blunt, it's not at an AFL standard, plenty of potential, but Jones is our best player, and he's had a fantastic year but realistically he wouldn't be the best at very many other clubs so we need to recruit the right mature quality midfielders to rotate through with him, Goddard would be a huge pick up if we could manage it, his on and off field presence would do alot for our young players, would love to see them recruit Goddard, Q Lynch, Shannon Byrnes, Clinton Young and Travis boak if he decides to leave, add that to Grimes, Trengove, Viney, Jones, and it allows you to drift someone like howe forward a little bit more, and he could become even more dangerous
