Brett Kirk - Roos' successor?
Ted Lasso replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mark Bickley, been an assistant at Adelaide for quite some time, already had a taste of being a senior coach and did quite well, premiership captain, couple of years under Roosy and away we go? just a spitball. -
I'd have offered Murphy for trade for boyd certainly, Mick needed to understand that it was a one step back two step forward type situation
-
If Carlton were serious they could have offered enough to get a deal done, Gibbs and their first rounder, Kruizer and their first rounder, noone on their list is good enough to have been immune when a key power forward was on the market.

Brett Kirk - Roos' successor?
Ted Lasso replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't see Roosy leaving a job half done, i still believe he is getting a taste for it and will want a couple more years. -
and convince the Adelaide recruiters to take a 4th round pick for both
-
i'd argue you can't be a premiership captain without being a leader to some extent, i'll give you an example, my boss is a massive Carlton supporter, last year on the bye week the blues were given an optional training the first day, one player turned up, guess who it was, my boss went to training to watch one bloke get out there. being a duel brownlow medalist means you have some good habbits and standards, this is another example of leadership, he is a role model for the younger players at training and so on, this is how a brownlow medalist carries himself, captain of two different clubs to me says someone thinks he's a decent leader.
-
the quote i was replying too said he was okay in a wce eagles midfielder, i'd say he is abit better than okay, and he's a premiership captain, i don't think that happens if you simply can't lead, certainly there would be better leaders but i don't think he's terrible in answer to your other question, i'd trade Gibbs and Yarren for Boyd in a heart beat Gibbs, Yarren, Kruizer, Robinson, Menzel, any of their picks from last year, i'd suggest a player like Gibbs and their first rounder might have tempted GWS
-
Doesn't concern me if he is on it at all, everyone knows the swans game plan, that's irrelevant, the great leigh mathews once said you can tell your opposition the game plan, if you play it well enough and it's good enough you will still win

Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
Ted Lasso replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
he has seemingly lost the ability to leap and take an overhead mark and his kicking penetration, both were huge weapons of his in his SA days, even in his first years he showed signs -
Thomas Boyd was on the table, how they didn't chase him is beyond me, i wouldn't consider any player on their list untradable for a 10 year power forward.
-
my money is still on Lynden Dunn

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 5
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
i reckon we have improved out of sight, could easily be 3 - 1 if we had one of our key forwards and a touch more luck, we are good enough to beat the suns and should back ourselves to win this game. -
I don't believe the AFL would invest the time and effort of getting PJ on board, financially bailing us out, helping get Roosy on board and so on if they were going to relocate us, i reckon North, the doggies and the Saints should be very nervous, i reckon one goes to Tassie

Damien Barrett is an expert, THAT'S how loosely we use the term.

Training - Wednesday, 16th April, 2014
Ted Lasso replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
Damien Barrett criticises Dom Tyson trade to Mfc... has never seen him play... -
I think his best position is in the backline, he can attack the ball hard and has a long kick but these days you touch the opposition and you give away a free, he is fighting a very uphill battle.

it's interesting from what i have seen JKH doesn't have an issue with pace, he isn't lewis jetta quick but he's quick enough to play the role, doesn't mind the tackling which is important and has really great footy smarts which is what i think will make him a really good player for us.
-
I was so annoyed when Mark Stevens asked him, "are you embarrassed to lose to a team like Melbourne?" and Mick responds with, "I think you're underestimating Melbourne, beaten us and Richmond, should have beaten St. Kilda and GWS".
-
also 250 pllus games, 2 brownlows premiership captain a heap of All Australians and all those minor details.
-
I don't know if we will see Salem or Toumpas til mid year, i want to see Toumpas winning some more contested ball and making himself impossible to overlook, and i want Salem to develop, learn his craft and so on, maybe come in and play a minor role on a forward flank or something later in the year to give him a small taste, maybe as sub
-
He gave the club 10 years of service, i reckon he deserves nicer words, but that's just my opinion
-
love the article on the AFL website about JKH also begging Roos to let him play a full game, isn't it a nice change when blokes are desperate to be out there? perhaps the beginning of a cultural shift.

Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
Ted Lasso replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has a crack in his navicular, full brown stress fracture, it's a four month injury i would say, and given his history i would consider Trenners on ice until day one of 2015 pre season if he is still with the demons at that stage. -
Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
Ted Lasso replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a real shame, hopefully the year off will help him get completely over it and find the little bit of pace that made him a more complete player when he first came onto the scene -
I reckon we are a good chance to win this game, i reckon we have been a whole lot better this year than people appreciate
