  1. Just read the Sun, how the hell is Slobbo employed in the media, that was the most biased load of rubbish i've ever seen! how can the AFL allow so much positive talk around a bloke who with his mates made a mockery of their rules and showed the whole world just how much integrity and strength the league really has.
  2. Yes, and i suspect Crameri will get a decent boost as well having missed out on a premiership.
  3. Mitchell and Cotchin should and i think will get one. To add to this i believe they should get medals because they should not miss out on the games highest individual honor because another player has been found guilty of breaking the rules later. they're rightful winners in my opinion.
  4. Agreed, i felt we and others were having a strong debate without crossing the line, i suspect the mods aren't stoked about the same things being bought up over and over, but if that's the case, perhaps it's time to move on from this thread, the SAGA should be finally over with Jobe handing the medal back.
  5. I'm not sure on that, but the EFC made it nearly impossible for them, which to me is a very un-Australian thing to do.
  6. How's Gus Brayshaw moving around, he seemed to start last season quite slowly when he got back in the side but really moved well at the end of the year
  7. Saty for me it's quite simple, if Essendon provided any sort of records they could have cleared their name, they couldn't and didn't. every player is taught from u18 level how to record substances they take in detail and not one of the players did that despite an intense injection program that should have made such a simple thing more important than ever, anyone critical at ASADA isn't acknowledging how hamstrung they've been through this process, they had little to work with because little existed to prove anything, which in itself strongly hinted at wrongdoing. as for Jobe, he was never going to be able to keep the medal so i am glad that part of this story is now over, at least he handled that aspect of this reasonably well.
  8. Did you get a chance to have a chat to Trenners at all Saty?
  9. The challenge is we probably need an experienced ruck as backup rather than a younger guy, and we need them to come through either the national draft or rookie draft. I am not sure what mature age ruck options are out there in the state leagues but i am sure we'd be having a good look around at options. Jack Hanneth i think would be a good option as a rookie pick
  10. Bit of a personal request here Saty, but i suspect others may not mind, next time you're at training do you think you could have a chat to Trenners and find out how the foot is feeling and if he's doing anything special for this coming season?
  11. I quite like that we've made a few changes, bought in a lot of guys who have premiership experience, but i think in the assistant coaching ranks it's important to make changes semi-regularly because sometimes a fresh set of eyes can make a difference, Egan, Rooke and Chaplin will definitely help in this regard.
  12. i'd have had Dawesy ahead of him, and we just delisted him so i can't imagine us picking up SMACK.
  13. Not unhappy with those penalties for the individuals involved but ultimately the club is responsible for it's employees and should be punished as well, slap a decent fine on the AFL giants and suspensions to those involved and move on imo
  14. young Christian looks like he's put on a couple of KG's as well! big season coming up!!
  15. exactly, it will require some sort of deal being struck between the AFL and Jobe which is awful, the league answering to a player who has done the wrong thing is a really blunt reminder of the quality of leadership in the AFL
  16. you may well be right, but i can't see Jobe willingly admitting any sort of guilt, and i think he'd view handing it back as admitting guilt, i think the AFL will have to take it.
  17. and the Swans will accept a straight swap for Alex neal-bullen
  18. In terms of coming to us? i've seen/read that he couldn't move for family reasons but also been told that the Swans wouldn't release him from his contract to be a senior assistant elsewhere, it had to be a promotion to senior coach.
  19. I am waiting for, we felt that all the players had different circumstances within this SAGA and different levels of guilt and we couldn't strip the award without being able to establish just how much guilt jobe had blah blah blah then the first person with any common sense says, sorry Gil, it's not your job to decide guilt now.
  20. four coaches now who were involved in the Cats era of success, Macca, Egan, Byrnes and Rooke Lewis who's been at the Hawks Goody at the Crows Jennings at the Hawks and Dogs Mathews at the Swans plenty of premiership know how at the club these days
  21. They needed to keep this as simple as possible in my opinion, let Jobe know that if the appeal failed he'd lose the medal, that simple, if there is some sort of information out there that makes jobes case different from the rest of the players, the time to use it has been and gone, now the AFL just has to act.
  22. But surely they do, he's been found guilty and lost on appeal, i'm not sure what information they could possibly need at this point.
