WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
The metres gained king and averaging 28 touches off half back combined with his immense courage.... surely will be AA. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-16/all-australian-40man-squad-whos-in-the-mix-from-your-club Michael Hibberd: Missed the first four games due to an Achilles injury, but the former Bomber has been one of the competition's best defenders this season. Hibberd has been one of the recruits of the year, with the attacking defender averaging a career-high 28 disposals and ranking No.1 in the AFL for average metres gained per match (566.9m).

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-16/all-australian-40man-squad-whos-in-the-mix-from-your-club Clayton Oliver: Deserves to be in the final team based on his consistent output in a breakout second year at AFL level. Oliver has averaged 30 disposals, including 10 games above 30 touches or more, and 6.8 clearances per game. Gets criticised by some for over handballing, but his hands in heavy congestion are elite and almost unrivalled.

Hes on the verge of becoming the first player in the long history of the Melbourne Football CLub to average 30+ disposals in a season.

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Melksham has been great too. Our recruiting has done a total 180 since the Roos era began.

Just thinking what an incredible move it was to trade up in the draft to nab him. Jumped right in front of Essendrug who took Parish, and who is about 1/5th the player Clarry is.

Another 4 votes from the coaches and hes into 6th place. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-14/aflca-votes-round-21-cat-claws-back-lead Must be a massive chance for the AA team. And he should be joined by his mate Hibberd.

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
And thats where Jordan Lewis does his thing. He will be salivating at the prospect of a cut throat elimination final.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
So I am gonna assume he will be in the AA team. We are on the verge of finals and he has been phenomenal. If they put Howe or that Docherty bloke from 5 win Carltank in ahead of him the selectors should be hung.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/08/10/you-re-a-coward-if-you-boo-james-hird-robbo The only coward I see is the head footy writer at the Herald Sun who protected Hird during the drug saga and was a cheerleader for the disgraced Essendon Football Club. If only the term 'fake news' was around during that time, Robbo would have been crowned the king.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Oliver, Petracca and Kelly in the midfield. Talk about the perfect blend. Three young superstars all with their own rare and incredible skillsets. Ok Ill stop dreaming now....

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
You think his teammates like him? He was the captain during the whole drug saga, and his 'leadership' was a disgrace. Good riddance.
-
Josh Kelly
Surely we are going hard at Kelly? Surely?

That's a pretty sad list. I'd hate to see it compared to every other clubs best midfielders over the same period of time.

I did think before I posted. The guys you named have him for longevity obviously. None of them have had remotely anywhere as good a season as Oliver's 2017 and none had anywhere near the upside. He is already better than any of them ever were in their best seasons.

Clarence Oliver
He is already the best midfielder we have had in the last 30 years. Can anyone name a better season from a Melbourne mid in modern times?

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
A star key backman is the final piece of the puzzle for us. This would be huge. MFC 2017 1st round pick + MFC 2018 1st round pick for Jake Lever and Adelaides 2017 2nd rounder Id then like to see us trade back into the first round as I feel sorry for Jason Taylor who is being starved of 1st rounders to weave his magic with on draft day.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-31/aflca-votes-round-19-just-three-perfect-10s Another 8 votes from the coaches and hes now sitting 6th on the leaderboard. Cant wait to see how he goes on Brownlow night.

Zak Jones
Wouldn't be in our best 22 even if we did get him. Would just be depth.
-
Glaring weakness in defence
We have been smashed all season by big forwards And this week, General Patton and Jeremy Cameron await. Oh and Rory Lobbe.
- Who will be the next Dees Brownlow Winner

Agreed, I would give him a miss. We have a bunch of half backs, and they are way better than him (Hibbo, Hunt, Salem with Wagner and Joel Smith coming through) We need to keep some draft picks anyway for our list profile. Jones would cost us too high a pick. Jason Taylor needs to get a shot at the draft, its what he does best. If we bring in Lever, we will lose another couple of first rounders too.
