someone find me somewhere where it says Scooter Selwood wants out?
because i have no idea and i've been looking over bigfooty and google everywhere!
some for flower sake give some evidence?!?!?!?!?
-
trade it for Sloane!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
they need a key forward and we need a bull (Sloane)
would love to see Sloane and Viney in the centre of the ground <3
-
They can make a play, but why the hell would go there as he already said no to moving to Brisbane.
If you dont want to live in Brisbane than why the hell would you want to live in Perth?
i reckon he'll be a demon
-
Personally i am hoping for a top eight position in 2014. if Port Adelaide did it with Hinkley, then there is no reason why we cannot do it with Roos as we are not dramaically further behind than they were last year [and IMO are slightly ahead going into the draft/trade periods].
i'd love it, but that is very ambitious of you..
i just want to see some serious improvement
-
IF we are to get pick 1, I'm warming to the idea of using it on Boyd.
Otherwise, we'd want to get a hell of a lot for it, if we trade it.
Pick 1 for Sam Mayes and pick 8?
Pick 1 for MacRae and pick 5?
Pick 1 for Armitage and pick 4?
Pick 1 for Yarran and pick 12?
Pick 1 for Scooter Selwood and pick 7?
We'd be playing hardball, any way it goes.
what about pick 1 for Rory Sloane?
i'd take that as a done deal

new meat ??
hey, grimsey, suggest you ask some of the older guys just what is required...
age limit is 7 for girls and 9 for guys...
our youngest ever players...
if yiu are under 18, suggest you turn up with a guardian...
(our current coach is a bit strict on this)....
i will, but can someone tell me the coach? so i can ring?

although the content of the thread is good
why make a thread about getting a priority pick when we dont know if we are getting one?
id say we have about a 30% chance of getting one

Davey
Magner
Sellar
Gillies
Bail
Jetta
Tynan

-
He was just on Footy Classified. Geelong may not be giving him another contract.
Pros:
Hard as f***
Still racking up touches
Wins the ball
Finals and premiership player
Practically free pickup if hes a free agent
Cons:
He's 31
Rodan didnt work out
May not have the passion to play elsewhere
Rodan v Chapman...
not even a question Chappy all the way

-
Trengove - little to inspire
Grimes - steady and effective
N.Jones - what we expected
Watts - finished other's work
Toumpas - has got talent
Viney - just a game
Frawley - passionate and effective
Sylvia - tried but lacking
McKenzie - heart and soul
Dunn- mostly effective performance
Garland - wasn't often noticed
McDonald - worrying with ball
Sellar - a dumb plodder
Kent - cause for optimism
Davey - fantastic second half
Gawn - rarely bothered statisticians
Howe - only 1 trick
Jetta - played with dash
Spencer - outmuscled and ineffective
M.Jones - was he playing?
Terlich - loose and dumb
dont agree with Watts, he was a champ
Trengove was pretty good also
Matt Jones was also very good

1. Has been out of the game for a while
2. Is obsessed with his Sydney side - is he one dimensional?
3. Is he more interested in the money
4. Never developed players just drafted in senior ones and developed the team
5. Only won one flag in 2005 - 8 years ago
6. Had John Longmire and Ross Lyon working under him - were the assistants really the brains trust?
7. Goodesy, Joshy, Kirky, Pykey should i go on...
8. The wife don't want him to coach
MFCSS kicking in early. When a 2 win season and negativity is you're starting point then it can only get better.
LOL, he saved Sydney...
who else would you like as coach? maybe we should bring back Neeld?

A team with a full pre season under Roos and a few games into them under him would be well aware you tow the line or your out, you do the 1%ers, you take ownership when they get a run on and you kill the game and their momentum, you remain disciplined and never leave your man free, you force stoppages to kill the oppositions free running style or just to break momentum. It is the way the Swans played and it is the way Freo play, had we played that way today
- the 9 goal second quarter from the Dogs would have been halted after a run of 3,
- the goals we gave away with lose checking would have been far less
- the clearances and breakaways made from them with lose checking resulting in numerous inside 50's would have been reduced
- the discipline and team ethos to adhere to game plan and run hard for each other would make us some what robotic but reduce turnovers
- his game style pressurises opposition sides at stoppages, negates quick ball movement on the rebound and forces them to over possess increasing the capacity to turn the ball over
- whilst some consider this style not pretty under Roos we would be within range of opponents on most occasions due to his game plan.
It is for these reasons we will see improvement against the sides in the bottom 6/7 and this will bring more wins. We will continue to struggle against the stronger sides but we will see improvement and small steps which IMO will make us a mid table side fairly quickly.
Although one quarter really was bad, we had 3 solid quarters along with 2 fantastic team goals in the last quarter... something to work with
-
any of you going to complain about the 4 goals Watts kicked yesterday?

So if the AFL is giving us 3 million, but we are reportedly offering Roos 2 million a year... how on earth are we supposed to pay him?
Maybe Jack Watts can do chores around his house?
no you make a good point.
I would suspect though that the AFL will pay Melbourne 3 million dollars for next year and another 3 million dollars in 2015.
So that would put us on track and hopefully the money will flow in from revenue, sales and crowds
so that would explain it in my opinion.
The money the AFL will give us is definitely not a one off
-
If we get Paul Roos it could mean more than just a coach.
Because the thing is that Melbourne will offer some big names some big money and instead of them dismissing us.. they might decide to come to Melbourne as playing under Roos is even more of an incentive.
Food for thought

Above all, the playing group have no more excuses. No more blaming the pres, the CEO, no hiding behind the shortcomings of a coach. Nothing short of total commitment, loyalty and determination will be tolerated. No more false dawns, this is the real deal!
absolutely, because if he didnt succeed it would be the players not Roos.
Because we know Roos can coach, but we havent actually seen the players play
-
I would expect a clearly more competitive and better coached unit in 2014, not sure if that will mean more wins, but i would hope far less floggings, far more respect from the comp and some exciting footy from our boys.
reckon 3-4 players might have huge break outs under a decent coach, going to guess now it will be
Jack Trengove
Jack Watts
Colin Sylvia
Jeremy Howe
Definitely Watts and Trengove
not sure about who else.. though
hopefully he can turn Jordie Mckenzie into a Ryan Crowley though, how good would that be

Just keen to see what us supporters think of the immediate impact (2014 season)
that Paul Roos would have if we were to snare him.
Considering now that he is really contemplating the Melbourne job as shown on the AFL site
-
do you think that we have offered Dustin Martin anything?
if not we seriously need to get the ball rolling
-
So basically the AFL is going to fine themselves because they will give us the money to pay the fine.
who cares
The difference Roos would make (VOTE AWAY)
in Melbourne Demons

Finally someone agrees about Trengove...
I hope he is amazing though.
imagine a midfield of
Jones, Trengove (as an A grader), Viney, Toump, Free Agent/Trade X2, Sylvia and Mckenzie
