WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Just a slight permeation of AFL bespoke "umps if Brissie are close enough for a sniff at any stage in the game give them a little fillip" yesterday. They weren't!!! Can imagine "The Girlie Man" talk at AFL Headquarters this morning. "Blah Blah Blah but they weren't even close enough anyway".

This opinion did not just fall from the sky as did neither i. It does precede the Essendon shambles and by the same, ran concurrently with it. All over the several years that I have participated on the forum we have been an unwarranted punch bag in a sea of punch-able bags whether it be about issues like team selection, coach selection or recruit; jumpers or lack of courage. there are many and I have no time for them (the media, disillusion be thy name). I wish I was still back in M sometimes amongst it. Heaven knows we tolerate their lies in lots of other general issues, but we don't nor shouldn't have to HERE even if we aren't a top team.

It's all about the sniff of a game, knowing that you think you're better than the older, more experienced blokes already in the team but never quite getting the opportunity to prove it so you try and do it at a pleasant Sunday morning. Not a good result! A good coach will just keep giving you the scent.....

"Pre arranged strategy" could have been the wrong terminology perhaps "divine intervention" more appropriate

To my way of thinking I reckon Weideman going to D's could have been a prearranged strategy in that this bloke has in one stroke alleviated a ton of pressure from himself, his family and the football public. The pressure on this bloke to perform would have been, behind the scenes, extraordinary, and I extend to everyone connected with this decision in football's extended family that he's probably now got a good chance of being a quite successful player in the AFL and with Melbourne.

Why wouldn't there be a film available of today? Surely you would be able to tell if he was fair dinkim or not

You would seriously look at a law suite to stop your kid going to Essendon in any draft.

At the moment we have about 1/6th of Collingwood's team potentially playing for us. With Weideman it would become over a quarter. No such thing as the Demonobbles is there?

I look at Melksham and I see a decisive disassociation from the past. Obviously the commitment and sincerity is there by the presumed length of contract and future coach's comments. There is a malevolent wind approaching Ess and people who make the effort to positively move on should not be overly recriminated against. Anything could come out of November in circumspection.
