Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Luke Ball said he would not play for any club other than Collingwood, and if anyone picked him he would sit out the season. From memory i think he got picked at 30, Saints got nothing

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Mahoneys negotiating skills are particularly poor. He was in a commanding position in this trade, Lever could have gone to the draft Luke Ball style and Crows would have gotten nothing. If he stood firm on 10 + 27 they would have had no choice but to capitulate. Likewise, telegraphing to the world that we didnt want Watts devalued his currency significantly. Obviously the guys know what they are doing when it comes to talent and footy, they just need a decent business advisor to help them in doing deals.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
What about this scenario: We pull our offer and only offer pick 10 based on BF performance. Crows chuck the sads. JL announces he is going into the draft a la Luke Ball and will only play for the Dees, otherwise will sit out the season. No other side will take the risk and he comes to us at 10 either way.

Zak Jones
Upsets me to see Zak Jones rip it up for the Swans when is rightful home is with his brother, at the Dees. Contract now up for renewal, can we get him ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Hibberd fills a gaping hole in our defence that existed even before Lumumba got knocked out of the game. Our recruitment team has had him in their sights since before the start of the year and getting him across the line is a huge win. 2nd round offer is a fair deal.... the guy is their best defender by far.

Dayne Beams
OK, so now Beams might be going to Sydney, and the word in the media is that the "sick dad" story is secondary to the money. Beams is EXACTLY what we need. Get to work boys.

I feel for Nathan Jones
As far as leadership goes, just watched 2006 semi dees v freo. There were 6 dockers still playing (Pavlich, Sandilands, Crowley, Mundy, McPharlin, Johnson), while we had 3 (Sylvia, Davey, Jones). what really was obvious though was the difference in the ferocity of the Dees then and the Dees now. If only we could lay tackles that stuck......
