  1. there was more to it than just that 2018 age podcast which i was quoting from. you’re making feel like searching fr it ... i’ll see how i feel later.
  2. i did read it LN , as it’s remained etched somewhere deep in my heart. but i’m def not going searching through her work at that time to find it. lol. someone else here may have a stronger stomach than me.
  3. lots of love here for CW. She has many years of good journalism and some low lows. Personally i’ll never forgive her fr the slow leaking tanking story she drove at us. And lest anyone say “ she was right” she wasn’t. she still says that episode was worse than the drug saga at essendon. she does. At the time she outright questioned whether we should continue as a club and wanted jimmy stynes statue removed from the G. let’s remember that she wasn’t speaking without “fear or favour” she was absolutely doing the bidding of the AFL. so many clubs including the big clubs ie hawks, pies, blues and others had done it, and the afl needed to stamp it out. this was mainly because there had been the entrance of big gambling sponsorship money into the game. So scapegoat was needed to a./ make it look like it was just ONE club and protect the AFL and b./ to scare all clubs away from the action. So despite the obvious cover up at the centre of her work ie that it was many clubs over many years, encouraged by AFL policy she tried to shame us literally out of existence. she outright tried to kill the club by poisoning us to death and questioning our right to exist. all of this in one of our darkest, weakest hours. was tanking good, helpful or beneficial nope. Especially fr us. was it worse than essendon drug saga??? should we have removed jimmy’s statue at the G? do we have a right to exist as a club? Caro will never look the same to me after that. i don’t care about anything she does or has done after that.
  4. yeah i saw that too. my first instinct is i wanted weid to be a bit stronger. it made me miss viney tbh. one of these days, and it may well be against the lions, a side is going to try physically intimidate us ..and i don’t mean at or around the ball. weid, jackson, tmac, lever are all wonderful players but they wouldn’t strike physical fear into a mouse.
  5. yep, me too. In fact I want to live in a world where im always in the week post that game!
  6. Agreed. Trouble is we’ve had so little practice at it so far! It’s good to feel the areas we can and have to improve when we’re 10-1 and sitting on top.
  7. may be the only positive for the pies all year :-)
  8. I know right? Faark. Then I also would have had to worry if I can get out! Ie if I could get bk to nsw without a quarantine. I canx the trip today. So disappointed
  9. damn. this has got to be the longest 2-3 week injury in history. does anyone know anything more? what is really going on? One thing Viney has consistently shown though is that, when fit, he can come bk in and have immmediate impact. we need him fr the finals and i’d much rather he’s injured now than later. Even so, he’s missed and will be especially missed v the dogs fri eve,
  10. I also felt the same. Why isn’t everyone in those final frames appealing fr that free fiercely?
  11. Its true ... and prob the only thing that’s marred the first 9 weeks. Because we’ve been winning I think not enough is being said on this. If you keep leaving the door ajar then sooner or later teams will start walking through it. The dogs are absolutely burying teams when they get on a roll. I want to be wrong here but when I look at the doggies and lions I can’t help but think we’re going to have our arses handed to us in the next two weeks.
  12. because.. melbourne. i have to admit though that it’s getting harder, even fr me, to hold depressing positions convincingly.
  13. damn. presuming yr source is right, and not sure if it’s a serious injury, but if not it’s a good opportunity to see how we play without him against a team in the lower half. We get a chance to find alternatives. He’s been close to our most important player this year and sooner or later clubs will move to blanket him. Gives us an opportunity to experiment. In saying that, he’ll be massively missed.
  14. hope they give weid a few games including the doggies . let’s have a good look at weid 2021 style! hope he gives the selectors plenty of headaches in the future.
  15. man the injury report is a dogs breakfast. I thought Hore was out for the season. he’s now down at 10-12. i get that’s close to seasons end but that difference may be important if we get injuries close to finals.
  16. Agreed, but it’s def a tough fight in here isn’t it. lol. let’s return to this subject in the future.
  17. Hmmm. Why would big multinational, multi billion dollar companies , with CFO's on huge pay packets be bothering with a pyramid scheme? Theyre holding bitcoin as part of their cash reserves now. Its true the dotcom bubble, which this is being likened to, had a lot of fails...as will certain coins in the crypto space ( probably many) , but the dotcom bubble also left us with Amazon, microsoft, google, utube, Facebook, paypal etc etc etc etc. Dont be too quick to overlook the size of whats happening here.
  18. Im flying down for this one..how could I not? But Im also a bit out of touch with how to get tickets at Marvel. The game will be heavily booked Im imagining. Anyone got any suggestions of how to get hold of them early?
  19. or dollars themselves once they left the gold standard
  20. short sighted comment DD. Do you have any idea how many people have huge sums of money in Crypto assets looking for a place to spend them? Its why so many retailers are trying to be crypto friendly now.
  21. Crypto offerings are happening through traditional banks in the USA now. JP Morgan, Grey Scale Trust etc . Its also on the books in billion dollar ways of major corporations ie Micro strategy, Tesla and many others. No need to confine it to a a demographic...its coming soon to a town near you ;-)
  22. For all the crypto new comers this is quite a big deal. I dont know what a " partner" is but coinjar is a big busines now. Pity they're not a sponsor. For the doubters crypto is 100% here to stay and in bigger and bigger ways. For those still wondering you can hold USDT ( the crypto token for USD) in certain staking accounts and earn anywhere from 8 - 12% PA. Name a bank offering that? Coinjar is Australias largest crypto exchange, its a platform you can link your bank acct to and come in and out of AUD and Cryptocurrencies. Its both a bridge into crypto with dollars as well as a place to hold your crypto and exchange it between coins. A good get! But as I say pity they're not a sponsor as they're a big deal.
  23. Agreed..a fine idea! Should that miracle occur, Id love to meet my fellow companions of these years , travellers through the dark woods of the tanking and Neeld years and way way beyond.
  24. I want us and the doggies to win... to open up a gap on 3rd place. 1st or 2nd is no advsntage either way, while 3rd loses home ground 1st week.
  25. well fair to say, given we’re down viney, jackson, tommo and Petracca it should no longer be classified as an easy game . Although imo it wasn’t going to be an easy game anyway, the blues really should have crushed the doggies last week. They’re better than their ladder position shows. Will be a good win if we can pull it off.
