  1. Better quater by Melbourne. Trengove not getting a sniff is just a little concerning, still waiting for him to really dominate a game.
  2. These a hole commentators are going to giver a heart attack
  3. Jones doing well, sounds like it could be a massive year for him
  4. Good problem to have though and both contested well today. Just need some time to sync and start working together. Jeremy Howe is a freak and will be a break out player this year if he continues to improve like he has. Pick 34 and a surprise pick at that, I thought at one stage I must have been watching his utube highlights. Type of player that sells memberships ....
  5. POSITIVES Clark Jones Howe Tynan Watts NEGATIVES Sylvia - Just a selfish player and no good against good opposition Fitzpatrick - just looks clumsy and awkward out there Nicholson - disposals and spectating Bennel - Just get involved son Magner - Injury (I hope this isn't serious front runner to be elevated)
  6. Nicho might be quick be he is not an afl quality player and im no sure his worthy of elevation
  7. Agree 100% getting consistent with our structures should be top priority. If we are good enough, results will come in the mean time but we shouldn't detour from the game plan for a glass half full night premiership. Don't need the 200k that much, thank god.
  8. Gysberts will be fine and will play out most of the season if fit. He will benefit when the likes of Blease and Bail hit the their straps and inject some speed into our midfield. For 2012 I think we need to get right into the congested style of play (As boring as that might be to watch) as we need to master that trade before we can move forward with an attacking game plan. We are not just changing our game plan, we are changing the behaviours and the culture of the MFC including what we want to stand for. It will take time but Sat night we got a taste of it...and I liked it!!!
  9. Either that or he couldn't make out who was who due to the conditions. Didn't want to drill the wrong player.
  10. Just caught the lions game again through replay on fox and Nicho was pretty good in the last ten minutes. The player that really stood out was Howe....leading up the ground, tackling, getting to the bottom of packs and then went for a trademark hanger. I know he was the fresh man on the field but even the commentators said he will be dangerous this year. Looking forward to seeing him in action against the pies.

  12. First game under new coach, hardness and contested footy were the highlights. The two things on top of all supporters wish list coming off last years debacle. BIG tick in those boxes for the new coaching team.
  13. Hardly noticed bail last night, did he have a number change? Contions didn't suit same as Watts
  14. Not sold on couch just yet, need to see more of him. Thought Tynan showed some real competitiveness and willed his way under packs on more than one occasion. Can see why we picked him up based on Neelds game plan... at pick 50 something could be a steel along with Sellar.
  15. Your 3rd point in particular is spot on and exactly how I felt after last nights games. The mrs is a magpie supporter and I am very much looking forward to seeing her face as we start crashing into some of there players for a change and winning the contested ball. I know it's back to two teams and 4 quarters but are the quarters still shortened for the remaining NAB rounds?
  16. Agree about Davey however I did notice him pull out of a contest at one point which was an all too familiar sight. His arms looked massive....but still has some pace about him.
  17. Magner for me. At one point he had the ball on a string and put the ball inside 50 a few times as well. He could become a cult figure at the club by seasons end.
  18. Good point, very hard to make too many assessments due to the weather and NAB format. I felt that with the playing the wings style of football and knowing most of the kicks OOB that gave the opposition the ball would normally result in a contested situation the season proper, we would have controlled the play more often and kicked more goals. After the first half of the GC game the mrs turned around to me and said "you have a man crush don't ya" refering to Mitch Clark.....I think I just might!!
