I He wasn't rucking against spence yesterday, they were working on body positioning in marking contests. Practicing working your man under the ball without pushing in the back. -

When I arrived the players were split into groups. Russian and Pedo were doing marking contests, Dunne, Spencer and Fitz doing the same. Spencer is enormous and packing a ripped six pack. Surprising. Dunne was working with the forwards. Rawlings was giving plenty of feed back on technique to avoid hands in the back. Another large group where doing kick to kick with tennis balls and soccer balls. Smaller group doing contested handball drill, receiving ball on the ground and getting hit by a bag. Blease was copping plenty from Neil Craig and made to repeat some of his efforts. Byrnes was real sharp and Craig was loving it. Flash was very clean, I still have hope even though he can't straighten his left leg. He lifts the whole group just being out there, they love him. Rodan, Jones, Tappy and Howe were having set shots. The groups then joined up, doing a full ground drill moving the ball from back pocket to full forward, with each section being filmed. Jmac cannot kick, full stop! Jamar looked great, swinging onto his left on the wing and hitting up forwards! Tappy played in the forward line. Strauss was criticized for his disposal into forward line. Rodan was really sharp across the wing, looking forward to him hitting up our talls this year. Also notices viney wearing number 7, and Magner in Moloney's 22. Spencer moved well in this drill, had me wondering if there may still be hope! Then half group split into tackling drill, working on hitting low and lifting opponent, not sure if this is a good idea. Another group where doing 3v3 handball drill, very intense. Jonesy was dominant. No one can touch him. They then split into 3 groups for running. A repeat 100m ish effort, a 30m agility group, and a full ground spreading drill where the boys got flogged. Wrestling, spread, ball work, and repeat efforts. Pedo worked hard but needs the work, Davey just ahead of him. Tappy headed in after first of 3 rotations. Forwards doing 200s along boundary combined with hard leading from the square. Hard work. Blessed blew up! Howe looked a million bucks. Gotta go now.- 74 replies

Watts is not a number 1 draft pick any more, he's a Melbourne player.... So move on! If u accept that you would be pretty happy That we have a 21 yr old playing, elite skills, speed, evasive and has the potential to play any position on the ground.... Get around him and encourage rather than the kid constantly being bagged. My opinion is he will turn into an afl elite, versatile and very tough to shut down as he can move anywhere on the ground.

2013, scully receives floating handball well outside the pack away from the scary contest, from the left at full tilt viney, from the right wines, bang! Trenners mops up to grimey, who hits Clark at chf, feeds off to Rodan who dances 3, then puts it down dawesys throat!

He's only 170 something cm so not a lot of teams would look at him and until another poster put this vid up I had never heard of him.

That's why this kid is a must draft at pick 49!!!

Been to 3 dees sessions so far, went and watched the saints this morn. Even though I am biased to the dees, must say our sessions have been a lot sharper and more intense than what I saw this morn. I know it's November but with our recruits, keeping this years draft Picks and the standard of training I've seen it's hard not to get excited. I have signed up for membership for my first time.- 61 replies

Would be in our top 5 for disposal, top 5 for aggression, and has a lot of mongrel in him.has never had a pre season so had no fitness. I beleive could play hbf going through the middle. Should never ever be mentioned in the same Breath as courageous cale! Has done more demon-like acts in 5 minutes then Cale Did in his whole time at the club!

Been down to a few sessions in the last few weeks, and have been glad to See my boy Tapscott following Nathan jones like a bad smell. I thought jones last year seemed to be the biggest improver and this appeared to be based on his attitude Towards our new training mentality. He got on board neelds train and the benefits where there for all to see. So I was wondering, with a massive pre season and guidance from our best player, does anyone else see the possibility of Tapscott having his break out year and turning into a dominant player for the dees?

I think that is the most impressive highlight vid I've seen so far. Looks like a slick speedy forward who takes grabs And genuinely wants the ball in his hands. Surely can't make It that far down the draft. What about Dil Roberton if he enters the draft? Showed a lot at freo and they wanted to keep Him but a having a kid has led him to come home to vicco.

Exactly why I would say wines is currently better!

He seems to go under the radar, i remember when there was talk he would go to GC I was shattered, as you said he had dominated some games in 2010 and is still just a kid really. Could be a real smokey this year in a team putting it forward more often. What is wrong with Tappy and Davey? I was hoping for a big pre season from Davey under a new coaching set up. -

First time at a training sesh, first time on here as well...... First impressions, Jurrah is a lot taller than I had thought; makes his athleticism more impressive. Beamer and Magner are stand outs because of their size. Chip did most of the talking in the warm up and was asking the boys for more than Monday, saying that Monday was terrible. Greeny was loud but joking around a lot early on. Once the ball work started I was suprised by Clark's foot skills, was very sharp. After some handball drills which looked very clean, they went into a transition drill, in which the first thing I noticed was Sellar looking slow and making poor decisions in congestion. As opposed to daveytrain, I thought Watts stood out in this drill, moving all over the ground confidently and winning 1 on 1s consistently. Garland's run also shone in this drill, just taking players on. I thought Jones skills looked sub standard even when in the clear. At one stage Watts ran down JB trapping the ball in the fwd line, which impressed me. Dunn looked like he needs to slim down a bit, very solid. Sellar was full back on Martin and doing well, but to me Martin just doesnt look like a forward. During the set shots I noticed Bate very rarely missed, very good shot. The fact that every drill involved hitting up leading forwards gives me hope that our fwd line might actually click this year and could be very dangerous. I was impressed by Gysberts' skills in pressure, one of my favourite players but looked good. Magner seemed to be very quite in the contested drills, needs a voice as it was costing him touches. I was expecting Howe to be bigger. Jmac continues to miss kicks and handballs AFL players shouldn't, he's a worry for me. Ricky P was great across half forward, and I think he is gonna be a star, could have a big year. looked strong, fast and a great contested mark. The backs started recording one on one body work during marking contests, in which Sellar impressed me, but you would expect him to when he's that big. The next drill where the midfielders worked it round before hitting up the fwd's saw Nicho playing the loose QB role out the back of the pack. Beamer looked like he was playing against kids, and dominated. Bate was clean and creative. At one stage Trenners outbodied and then marked against Martin. The kid is gonna be a superstar. In the next 1v1 handball drill Beamer made sure he went against Morton, which I saw as a tactic to get him a bit more physical. Just my opinions, could be wrong but its what I took out of the sesh.
