Fellow DL's, based on the last few seasons, I have a feeling we're just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic...ie. doing something pointless or insignificant that will soon be overtaken by events, or that contributes nothing to the solution of a current problem.

The last practice match played by Casey had the following players as best on ground in their win over Port Melbourne: Evans, Jetta, Blease, Clisby, Gawn and Salem - I wouldn't be averse to letting them all have a go next week...

At the 8:15 minute mark of his initial press conference, Roos mentioned that he would have a longer term relationship with the club in some other way....So it makes sense that he will continue at Melbourne (just not sure in what position)

I'm pretty sure we weren't found guilty of losing games deliberately Caroline, but by all means, don't let facts get in your way.....

Brisbane were pathetic - they only managed to beat us by 28 points, despite having 116 extra possessions. That's the equivalent of 4 extra players getting 29 possies each! Dee's should have lost by at least 10 goals..

I notice that Mark Robinson's team at the HUN are going for the MFC hammer and tongs on this drug fiasco (he'll do anything to get his beloved Essendon out of the headlines). But what worries me most right now is Mark Neeld's extraordinary claim that the MFC and Greater Western Sydney "are pretty much at similar stages in terms of their development and what we're trying to do". Are you kidding me? Talk about setting us up for a loss!

No way known is Jamar quicker than Spencer - Jamar is the slowest (physically and mentally) I've ever seen. Spencer averages more marks per game than Jamar. Jamar never kicks the ball so that argument is bereft of data. One thing Jamar is good at is crawling around on the ground after he's fallen over in a ruck or marking contest.

But he's a better ruckman than Jamar...

I've said this in another post, but I think it bears repeating: The MFC are worse than the stats indicate. Last year teams took it easy on us after they'd blasted us out of the park in the 1st and 2nd quarters. After all, why try your guts out when you've got the other team beaten? The MFC coaching staff would then hang their hats on the one or 2 quarters where we "matched" the opposition. And its happening again this year. Port tried all day and we couldn't get near them. Essendon (who are better than Port) an even bigger ditto. West Coast tried for a quarter and half - we got smashed. How on earth we beat Essendon last year completely staggers me. But we won't come near any of the established teams this year and might even consign ourselves to oblivion against GWS and GC. Mark Neeld cannot coach; Brian Royal cannot coach; Jade Rawlings cannot coach; and who knows what Leigh Brown can do...? Finally, Neil Craig gets paid a lot of money....

Jack was waylaid by a reporter on the way to training and instead of saying "no comment" he responded (without much forethought it appears). But you guys have dissected his response as though it were a Papal Decree!! Get a life...

As far as I'm concerned, Schwab and Connolly stuffed up this club royally when, under Dean Bailey, they stuck their beaks into the Footy Dept and tried to micro-manage. They introduced politics into the playing group and caused rifts that still reverberate amongst the players. And inevitablly, when the sh*t hit the fan, Schwab distanced himself as any politician would. Can't stand the bloke and I'm sure a lot of our players can't either. But McLardy and the board seem mesmerised by him...

I remember when Bailey was coaching - the only time we would try as a team was after getting belted. For some reason, the mindset of most of our players has remained the same - they have absolutely no SELF MOTIVATION, therefore NO PRIDE and sooner or later Clark and Viney will succumb - get out while you can boys...

I have a feeling last year was even worse than the stats suggest...In most games the opposition cleared out early and just coasted for the rest of the game. The MFC coaches hung their hat on those quarters (usually the 3rd or 4th) saying we were at least competitive in them. Uh! no we weren't....we were allowed to be competitive by the opposition. And while I'm at it, let me say I CANNOT believe Brian Royal is our midfield coach and WHO ON EARTH signed Mark Jamar to a 3 year deal? Surely not on the recommendation of Neeld!

I'll tell you how well Moloney played - the Bulldogs didn't even bother to tag him...it seems they really rate him. And for someone who wasn't tagged, 20 possies is a poor return for a midfielder...(and half his possessions ended up with the opposition)

We and everyone else didn't touch Dayle Garlett - ergo, we won't be going after Martin. END OF STORY
