The official I love Dom Tyson thread

Either him or Aish would be my bet. ...be interesting to see how Scharenberg comes up, the kid can play and I was surprised GWS didn't go with him given they have a surplus of small medium mids. Maybe they didn't like the chances with the foot injury. Whilst I think the above, I like your story better. I think I will adopt that one. -

There's a premiership team called Hawthorn who have a lot of players who always turn on their left. If you've ever watched Josh Gibson try and kick on his right it is one of the funniest things in football. Most players only go one way and their coaches encourage it. Tyson does have a get out on his right and has used it but will naturally go to his strong foot as all AFL players except Sam Mitchell do and as Sam Blease thinks he can. -

That's a pretty good call. I here that he's a bit of a perfectionist and hates missing targets. He will get much better as time moves on, his improvement in all aspects of his game so far this year has been good and he will only get better. -

Agree with this, and a few of his teammates are becoming more aware now. -

It's always hard to make comparisons but to me he has a bit of Mitchell and Black about him. Neither quick across the ground but very quick hands and work hard in close. He will only get better with more game time and time under Roos and Stone. -

Occasional he has a bit of a brain fade with his disposal which I expect he will clean up with a bit more experience; seem to remember someone called Sam Mitchell doing the same early in his career. -
Geelong were keen to keep Mummy, in the end we have a place available and some cash for the right option.
-
I think Sinclair is a better bet than Lycette but I think the Eagles are still trying to work this one out.
-
Don't agree with you on this one 'stuie', I would be very surprised if we don't have a shot at one of them. Out of our lot Jamar is on the downhill slide, Spencer is Spencer and I like Gawn but he stay on the park long enough to build a base.
-
'stuie', ''Pennant has named a few on another thread. I agree with him on this, I really like the look of Sinclair at the Eagles. Very athletic and can go forward. there is also Clark and Griffen at Freo. http:///forums/index.php?/topic/36291-players-to-target-at-the-end-of-the-year/page-6 http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/36291-players-to-target-at-the-end-of-the-year/page-6

I'm not so fussed with Wright but I would like to pick up another KPP at least, particularly if Frawley goes. If we were to give up an early pick it would need to be for real quality though. It will be a bit different to the Tyson/Kelly trade as this time a KPP will be up for grabs and that is worth a lot to a club like Carlton, Adelaide, St Kilda, Brisbane(although they will be at the pointy end anyway), Footscray and maybe Collingwood. Would these clubs give up Sloane or Beams for a KPP chance. I'm 100% with you on picking up a ruckman and chances are it will be one of the guys in WA, be very surprised if the club is not all over this.
-
Like the look of McCartin myself, if we end up with a couple of early picks him and Goddard would be good choices. A lot will depend on Frawley and a PP pick.
-
Agree with you and would think if the season keeps going as it is then we would be a walk up start for a priority pick. Particularly after last years Port argument seems to be well unfounded, we don't have the list Port does to do the amazing turnaround. That was a total furphy.
-
Also need to look for one of the class young rucks in WA not yet established and throw a bit of cash at them. A bit like Mumford at Geelong.
-
Been saying this since we picked him up, a great get and will be one of the top mids in the comp in the next few years. Not doing bad for 17 games.
-
N Jones (pick 12) and Tyson (pick 3) were both first round draft picks.
-
Would rather Tony Lockett. Because we have had such a poor midfield I can understand where you are coming from but with Tyson and Viney led by Jones, Vince and Cross...Salem to come, yes we are on our way. With half reasonable drafting from here on we will top that list up, it's the really good talls that are hard to get. This draft offers some good prospects.
-
We will need another couple of good talls. This draft will provide, the midfield is on the way and we will add more to it.

'Sassy' you have lost the plot old son. Of course Danger has put talks on hold, he still has 2 years to go on his current contract. Why would he negotiate now? He has said he is more interested in success than cash so that rules us out. Forget Danger, he's not for us and he is over rated anyway. As for Wines, that one is long gone. He will make a good career for himself at Port and will be a champion of that club. Home for him is not the city of Melbourne he is a country boy and Adelaide is a big country town.
-
Tyson is probably leading our B&F at the moment and you haven't seen Salem who is rated up there with Kelly but next draft I would keep some high picks. We are going to need the KPP's.
-
You're right there, the clubs that will be interested are those desperate for a KPP. I guess that brings Adelaide into the mix and a couple of others. Of course if Frawley goes then we would be deperate for KPP's.
-
I think you are right.
-
McCartin has a bit of mongrel about him same as Hogan, I like that.
-
It was Paton a few years back, then Boyd now Wright but we do need a couple of KPP. If things keep on as they are we will have a few early picks, we can use one in a trade for something really good and keep a couple.
-
I think Ellis is good, it's just other clubs are now not giving him a free hit at it and tagging him. We will see how he works through it this year but using him to tag Gibbs the other night was a real plus and a good win for Ellis.
