we have taken quite a few in the aflw though, so we must have at least some scouts out there
Goldy & Mackin integral players in our Premiership...

Got me baffled 'daze'...
The mens & women's team should be working together on this.Use the resources at hand.

He'd struggle to even play senior footy there and would end up in the reserves.. he's genuinely that bad.
I get your point mate...but nothing ventured nothing gained.
We've tried with him and Bradke before and so far haven't had a win.
Personally I would have put more eggs into the Irish experiment where we were once leaders and came up with some real gems.

4. The forward swap should be seen as a make shift option. I know Petty can mark but he is not a natural forward. His kicking is ok but sometimes lacks the real confidence of a key forward. I think he’s being “tried” due to deficiencies of alternatives like Schache.
He's a beautiful set shot but is lacking confidence this season, you can see it in his approach.
I just think he is lacking confidence in his body at the moment.
Get that right and he will be good to go, forward or back...

...and, I like the idea of trialing Disco forward.
We nearly pulled the trigger on that move in finals last year when the cupboard was bare.
Now is the time to build our options.

in fairness he had shown 0 at vfl level last year, i think its all been between his ears essentially.
Last year he (Vearrall) missed all of preseason and most of the first half so was coming off zero base.
It was always this year that he would start to show and he is.
Lets hope he keeps up the improvement.
There is a spot in the AFL team for him if he does.

It's night for Jack Viney tonight...
He's was coming off illness into the games in Adelaide. I expect he will step it up a notch or 2....

Adelaide in Adelaide, St Kilda and the Dogs off a 5-day break mightn’t be the hardest fixture so far but sure isn’t the easiest.
They, sadly, appear to be right back in contention.
No Danger also...yep, they're well in contention if they stay fit.

Salem has already played some midfield time this season with mixed results.
...when Bowey comes back does he move back into the rotations.
Probably.
McVee's defensive game is too strong to move just yet and it's good to have quality ball use coming out of the back half but then again Howes has been a surprise package with his contested and defensive play.
At least we have some good options.
Playing AMW off half back at Casey...wonder if we see him here or is it a taste of what he needs as a forward?
Anyway this is a McVee thread and the kid has been a real surprise package since coming into the team last season.
Has so much more to offer and we just got a good look at that last night...

Why oh why do D/ers not understand that at this stage no proposal is completed to be refused overlooked or written off.
our Caulfield project is far from finalised so a specific authorised application has not been refused. The stakeholders are not ready yet but it is gaining momentum and priority.
Some D/Lers post negative comments about our Club when we don’t hold the strings this stage.
Another virtually says we don’t fill out forms of application for funding and other Clubs are great at it. Well that's because the Cats for example have a ground and it is easy to make a specific grandstand application for funding. By six time over they are good.
No plan including our training facility is near finalisation so hold the horses till it is. Or let’s get into our Club and make them the whipping boys again.
Oh and the post about the Lexus Centre location not being chosen was and it is well known a walk up case of no money to put in. Joe G had just saved us from merging/ possible extinction but still it’s used again incorrectly as an opportunity missed with no mention of the fact that the funds were not available at the time in our finances.
It’s all about timing and one must have some cash to spend on such a development I repeat.
This may be the final option for inner city land suitable and it’s no good spoiling the facility after this length of time due to overdue haste.
Yep, but my point was more about other clubs getting funding under false pretences.

This stadium funding charade is a game of ticking boxes. Doesn't matter what your true intentions are, as long as you tick the right combination of boxes to unlock the $$$. Some clubs are very good at it. We are terrible.
Yep, and the sad thing is that we led the way with AFLW and yet others who sat back and had no particular interest benefit from it in their funding.

I’m sure he will. It’s no wonder that Ed is having his best start to a season since 2021 IMO. Because without an experienced second winger in Gus or Hunter, we are using his wing far more frequently.
The more we start to trust Windsor the more he will get the ball in his hands. At the moment he’s almost hunting his own ball which is an impressive trait to have as a wingman.2 hours ago, rjay said:Needs to get more ball, and teammates need to use him more on the outside.

The best thing about Windsor is that he’s already shown that he doesn’t need much of the ball to be incredibly damaging. He had 12 touches yesterday for 4 score involvements and a goal. That is elite.
Of course the more he gets his hands on the footy the more damaging he will be, but he doesn’t need to be a big accumulator to be incredibly influential, which is why you can tell he’s headed for stardom. He works hard back and forward, clean hands, good quick decisions...is trending well.
Playing a midfield role on a wing he needs to be getting in the 20's and hopefully that will come.

I'll reserve judgment on whether Collingwood are "back" until I see them play someone else.
Brisbane right now are no good. I don't think it's hyperbolic to say the wheels could fall right off. If they're this lethargic against North...well...probably not. But then they play us, Geelong, GWS, GC and Adelaide. It's a tough run and on current form they may well be 2-7 at the end of it.
Take Neale out of that team tonight & they would have been lucky to have got within 10 goals.
...look a rabble at the moment.
North don't have any KPD's so you could expect Joe & his mate to beat up on them otherwise I reckon I would back North in...

He should definitely come in imo
No...not unless Tommy is played forward.

I suspect it’s Petty back until May returns post bye with that line up
Yep, there is no way Tomo comes in if Tommy Mac is playing defence.
Petty back with Hore & Tommy or Tomo.
Salem now stays back as the only experienced leader in the backline until May/Lever return

...because every AFL team bases their decisions on 1 or 2 games.
Cornes is paid to stir and he's good at it.
If he was a list manager his tune would be a lot different.
Taking a long term view is not a media strong suit.
