With all due respect Chazz It's amazing that with the power of hindsight how we all know better than the people who made the draft choises. This applys to all teams over a long period of time. You can follow a kid from under 14's to uder 18's and think you have found a star but when put into the open age AFL you find that he is not as good as you thought. Jimmy Toumpas is a great example of this Was a brilliant Junior but is really struggling at MFC and now Port. We all know we would have picked James Hird in the top 10 but the silly recruiters waited to pick 79 or whatever pick he went at. Every club picks so called duds (Hate that word) You can only go by what you see and what you think you can get at that pick. It is pointless to point blame at one person

Jack hasn't of yet named a club he wants to go to so the club cannot enter trade talks until he does. I for one hope he stays
-
Disgree.... Denham said in his opinion that Connors would not allow watts to remain at MFC next year Denhams opinions mean very little in the scheme of things

I reckon Trade week has become a blood sport, vultures sitting in the stands waiting for another of our players to fall and gleefully gloating when the axe comes down. Some on here want 10 to 15 players gone, I know it's the current trend but how can you sign up for 2 or 3 year contract and then be traded 1 year in? What's the point of a contract? We missed the finals by a bee's you know what, you would think that we didn't win a game all year the way some are talking Any way, tuning out for trade weeks (months)

I do wonder if Richmond supporters were having this conversation last year or the year before. I wonder what they are saying now that Hardwick is now coach of the year??? Most wanted him gone years ago. I have to laugh at some posters who say that they will give Goody "another year".......How good of you. After his first year, Goodwin has just missed the finals by one goal One bloody goal We won games that nobody gave us a chance......We lost some games that we shouldn't have but gee.....That's footy sometimes. The injuries and fixture didn't help. Adelaide were beaten by Nth and us in consecutive weeks. This season was the most even in years, any side could have beaten any other side on any given week. We all ask that the players "Buy In" It's a pity that we don't sometimes. Well, its now silly season with trade week approaching and some dickheed on SEN is telling me that Hogan is going back to WA (again) and Watts won't be playing at MFC next year. Can't wait for all the stupid trades that posters can come up with. Anyhow off to Sydney for a long weekend and will catch the footy in a pub somewhere.

A couple of times this year I turned on the TV to watch the footy. I knew straight away who the home side was(Traditional jumpers) but had to look closely to see who the side was that was mostly white Was it Adelaide, Fremantle. Carlton,Port, Gold Coast? Talk about confusing. But we should know that the footy suporters are dumb and need to be led by the hand by the all wise AFL. If they say we can't tell the difference.....Well who are we to argue.
-
All this whinging about umpires.........It's not even a MFC game. Our game is the hardest in the world to umpire. The AFL don't make it any easier with interpretations on a weekly basis and rule of the week. And please don't tell me that umpires go out to make sure that certain teams win or have it in for teams or players. They just pay 'em as they see 'em and they do it without TV replays or different angles over and over again. I wonder how many DL's have actually umpired a game, every decision you make is wrong according to half the crowd. Without umpires we don't have a game. Or we could go back to the captains making the decisions, that would be great wouldn't it? Yes they make mistakes but not as many as the players do every week, so how about we give them a break.

Wow....Some angry people on here. Just some positives from the season We have a first year coach .....Made some mistakes....but got us to the cusp of a final series in his first year We were decimated by injury to our AA ruckman and a horror year for our star foward and other top line players We won 12 and lost 10 Most supporters would have taken this at the stat of the year we fielded the youngest side in most matches this year We were compeitive for most of the year and just tripped up at the end. The club will make a profit this year (Over 40,000 members for the first time A huge effort) We have come so far in the past couple of years I was wrapped to be in the eight for most of the year Excuses......No Reasons.......Probably Disappointed?.......Very End of the world.........No Anyway Sorry to interupt the wrist slitting Carry on
-
For those saying the Mac's played badly........Bris forwards kicked 3 goals in their total of 14, Most of bris goals came from their midfielders Close (1) Hipwood (1) Barrett (1) I thought the defenders did a pretty good job, after all the defenders job is to stop their opponents from scoring
-
I was happy that he got 18 possessions in his 1st game.

You blokes make me laugh......3 weeks ago you were all hailing the team as finals bound and how hard it would be to break into the side. Now you blokes want to trade players that are having a drop in form.....Some are calling for the coaches to be replaced...."Oh my god we are doomed" Jack has had a pretty good year IMO Since he has come back from injury, he has struggled to have an influence, but so have other returning from injury. Form is a fickle thing. Last time I looked, we are just percentage out of the eight and 1 game off 5th place with 3 games to go. In a season full of upsets and unpredictability. But sorry for interupting. Carry on the bagging.

By whom Old Dee???

I don't get the moral outrage Affairs have been happening since the day dot and will continue long after we're all dead Sometimes it is just mutual attraction, some times it a power thing. Two consenting adults, but we all look for some ne to blame.
-
We lost the 3rd q by 10 points and the last by 5 pts I don't think it was that bad for the side we had in We were blown away in the 2nd
-
I can't understand, that in the best season of AFL footy in decades, commentators and posters are talking about trades, free agents and drafting. How about we get excited about this season, which is the the most even season in years. No one knows who is going to win each week and 13 teams have a chance of making finals. Leave all the other stuff for the off season.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 10
Bossdog replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't get all the doom and gloom This is the most even season that I can ever remember. We are one game off second bottom We are one game off 6th position We have beaten 3 sides above us and won 1 game to sides below us We have lost to 3 sides above us and lost to 2 sides below us Who knows what will happen this week and although we get disappointed at our loses, this season is one of the best for a long time No one knows who will win this week (with the possible exception of Coll vs Bris.) Haw ( 17th ) is only 2 games out of the eight Sit back and enjoy. -
Brown is also 25 and has played 60 odd games Vs Weid who is 19 and played what 10 games? I don't know what you expect? And just as an aside where do we find another tall KPplayer from our cupboard is a bit bare at the moment.

I don't know why you would say that G Lyon didn't stand up to be counted. Coaching is not for everybody. Great footballers don't automaticly make great coaches. He didn't want to coach. Tim Watson, a great footballer was a terrible coach. Ox and Garry are paid for opinions and are entiltled to express them. There are a lot worse things said about other players than was expressed against JKH I think everybody is too thin skinned.
-
You just have to laugh, whilst I love the guys passion, It's very hard to dump a truck load of snow at the clubs front door (SEN caller) As for JKH I seem to remember similar comments about Nev Jetta a few years ago, a bloke who was delisted and re rookied and now one of the first picked in the side. Some players take time to gain the experience and confidence to play their best footy. I don't know if it will happen but I hope so.
-
That's because the primaries put all their crap shows on to the secondary channels

It's the way footy is played these days Sir Zone defence No taggers(or not many) Have you noticed how high the scores are compared to a couple of years ago when defence was the be all and end all of coaches And how boring the footy was. I love the attacking style of more scores we still kicked 15 goals yesterday in a losing side Much better than to lose after kicking 6 goals in a losing side. P.S. I agree that the 3rd 1/4 was terrible
