Have we really improved at all since last year?
Bossdog replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gee Hawthorn and Sydney must have very bad leadership problems They havn't won a game -
Jesus SWYL You know this game of footy is not as easy as you seem to think it is.....Just snap your fingers and stop the run ons. NOW. So so easy Goodwin has coached 4 yes 4 games as head coach and you reckon the heat MUST be put on him. You weren't saying that during the pre season comp or the first two games. You make asumptions that you know more than the footy club, coaches and players and demand results NOW. Calm down mate.
-
Oh....I get it .........we are 2-2 Sack the coach Some of you blokes are pathetic After the 1st game he was a marvel Now he's a dud
-
Crisis what crisis We are 2 and 2 and probably should have won the 2 losses People get so carried away by a narrow loss to a pretty good side
-
You blokes make me laugh The last few years after being 22 points down at 3/4 time would have seen us blasted off the turf and endured a 50 pt loss. Yes we played a really bad quarter and hit the front again in the last 1/4 At least we fought back and nearly pinched it We are young but every game we improve and learn As for all the super coaches out there........Give me a break......
-
Interesting to note Western Bulldogs had 18 more poss 1 more clearance 2 more inside 50's 5 more const poss 9 more tackles 19 less H o's Against Freo last week and lost by 16 points I not sure what all that means but I thought it interesting

OD.....Please.......I am not a religious fellow.....Every thing is shut........I need a little entertainment to get me through the day.......I love the RCH thing , but please I need something. I find it great to have the footy on.

I love that the footy is on Good friday Otherwise it is the most boring day of the year

All I ask is for posters to give Spence a go and not smash him with the usual "He's a spud" type comments

Last time I looked we won our past two games The first was a good winagainst a side that had the wood on us and a ground that it seemed impossable for us to win at, the 2nd was a bit of a grind against a side that had the wood on us. I don't think a lot of changers are warranted Two are compulsary I don't believe that Hannon,ABN or Brayshaw have done anything so bad that they deserved to be dropped at this stage from a winning side. Nobody starred last week but they all did the job. You can't star every week. Vince for Lewis Kent for Hogan The rest will have to be patient and continue to play well at VFL level until such time as they are needed or bust the wall down. It's a good feeling that this is the case
-
Well you can only beat the opposition they put in front of you They have done that God help us if the Blues get up tomorrow
-
I know that stats are'nt everything but ABN's stats were: 15 poss (7 kicks...8 hbs) 8 contested 7 uncontested 3 intersepts 4 marks 5 tackles 15 pressure acts 1 goal assist 4 score involvements disposal eff 73% 0 clangers There was quite a few of our players that didn't reach that mark He has played just 15 games and is 20 years old

HA.......he he he I find it amusing that you blokes are argueing over a practice match squad in march Sorry Carry on..... -
I feel that this is the same situation as O McDonald Vs Dunn last year The club needed to get games into OMac as he was the future and Dunn had to give way even if he deserved more games. It is now Garland Vs J.Smith Who is the future???
-
So.....Let me get this straight.........A senior player doesn't get picked in the first practice match of the year in Feb (horror horror) Coach wants to see how young blokes go against a top four side (Great) Said player has a thumb or finger in a cast at family day. Club or coach gives no explaination for who or why certain players played or didn't (Great) Media goes into melt down and Jack Watts is in dought for round 1 which is still a month away. DL blames it on Jack's new hair cut (Geeze JJ from the bulldogs is in trouble with his new do) So I can only conclude that Jack is lazy, full of himself, unfit, has a bad attitude, and really wants to go to Collingwood? Have I got this right?????
-
There were many turnovers in the two games played. If you watched Geel vs Haw last night you would have seen some beauties. It's Feb Just saying

Say what you like about Foxtel.....It beats the hell out of free to air shows.........With all the " real life" shows such as a show that is about people watching TV for Christ sake and nasty cooking shows.....Ten thousand adds....No overseas cricket......Movies once a week with adds every 5 minutes... Foxtel saved my life. Worth every cent.

Easy.........Kick more goals than the other mob......Doesn't matter how.

Wrecker45 Many years ago, after the death of my wife,I repied on alcohol to get me through. I would drink most days so that I could sleep at night and get through social occasions that I had to attend. After gaining weight (110kgs) and feeling always depressed I attended my doctor who told me I was heading for an early grave. I would have at least a dozen cans a night and drink by myself. So....I gave up the drink, joined a gym and began walking the dog 4 ks a day. It wasn't as hard as I thought and the dog loves me. I now drink socially and enjoy the times when I do but I still restrain myself and limit my alcohol intake. The only thing I can tell you is that I feel so much better in my everyday life. I don't drink weekdays and only drink in a social setting I'm down to 85kgs and now reasonably fit for my age. Hope this helps

Training - Friday 10th February, 2017 at Olympic Park

Thanks to all for the reports I don't think you can take much out of a scratch match in Febuary Even the next three weeks won't see our best side as new players will get games they might not deserve, players will be tried in new positions, players will be rested Can't wait until the real stuff.......Every year family and friends have a tipping competition, where you have to tip your winners for the WHOLE year and submitted before the first game. Very hard to do this year. -
The answer to reducing congestion around the ball is...

The coaches and the sports performace people are to blame Last year I saw Jessie Hogan kick the first goal of a game at the 40sec mark and then came off for a rest......Really???? At one stage the entire midfield was interchanged after a goal.....One of them had only been on the ground for a minute Years ago players could play a whole game and rest in pockets. Soon players will limit their possessions so they can stay on the ground and play the game they love. It's really a simple game stuffed up by high performance gurus. -
Casey City Council The only Council that is trying to take a 70 year old's land from him and build 4 Soccer fields, pavillion, and roads. He has owned the property for decades and planted every tree and built a lake in the middle for wildlife, bird rookerys, but the Council want his land and will compulsary aquire it. How can this be right? I don't see any plans for ALF grounds by the way.

HS Bicks weighs your AFL team’s chances with his 2017 preview
Bossdog replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think any player would ever think along those lines. -
I don't get the angst aimed at HL......he is a different cat.....So What? There are so many robots already in the AFL. Any one a bit different is treated like they are insane. and are scorned and belittled. He has now gone.........Lets move on.
