CHANGES: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
Gawn listed as 1-2 weeks away on the clubs injury list so barring an unknown injury I would imagine it will be no change.

2022 NAB AFL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Very good grabs by young Reid there. Think he is in the 2023 draft class. Didn't spot our NGA prospect in Finn Emile-Brennan who was supposed to be wearing 13. I wonder if he was donning number 30 for the game today?

2022 NAB AFL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sheezel is going to be a star, there's talk of him challenging for top 3 this year. Walter is a 17yr old 198cm Key Forward eligible for the 2023 draft. Unfortunatley he is part of Gold Coasts Academy where they will get first rights to him. Can someone remind me if they are still able to pre-list their academy players without using draft picks? Becuase that would be a massive coup for them. If not, I'm fairly certain they can match bids anywhere in the draft compared to Victorian clubs that can't match within the first 40 selections. Either way, massive win for Gold Coast.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
Enjoy the game everyone, I'll miss yet again because of work. Will hopefully be an enjoyable watch on replay.

TEAMS: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
Our sub will be over 180cm for just the 2nd time this year. Could make a good argument for Tomlinson since we've gone in smaller and Petty has been sustaining a few injuries recently. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see Hunt who can cover back and forward.

Low Attendance
This probably doesn't stop people from going, but a lot of the atmosphere that makes this game a special experience watching live has been taken away. This piece from 9 years ago articulates my feelings better than I can. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cut-out-the-hype-and-maintain-the-atmosphere-20120930-26trd.html

Farewell Luke Jackson
Pretty good idea, should come cheap with the lure of a premiership and he's more than capable up forward as well.

Aaron Cadman
They'll need to keep in mind that his height was most likely measured pre-season while he was 17 and could easily grow into the high 190s. But if they're still concerned there are a few other taller prospects to monitor in Harry Lemmey, Tom Scully and Isaac Keeler. All three are South Australian boys who are 199, 201 and 198 cm respectively. The website I had linked in above has Lemmey at #9 and Scully at #10 while Keeler was not mentioned in the top 25. South Australia played the Allies on the weekend where Lemmey kicked 1 goal with 7 touches while Keeler kicked 3. I'm not sure if Scully played with talk that he could be playing for his school instead.

Aaron Cadman
Found a profile write up on him in the June Power Rankings at https://central.rookieme.com/afl/power-rankings/afl-draft-power-rankings-june-2022/ where he is currently placed at number 11. #11 Aaron Cadman GWV Rebles/ Key Forward Height 194cm Weight 88kg DOB 3/3/2004 VICE-LIKE HANDS One of the more prominent lead-up forwards in a draft rich with promising talls, Cadman has proven undeniable as a genuine first round candidate this year. He got some good bottom-age experience under his belt in 2021 but has excelled as Greater Western Victoria’s spearhead in 2022, earning a call-up to the AFL Academy on the back of terrific NAB League form. With vice-like hands on the lead and strong presence in attack, he is somewhat similar to fellow left-footed forward Jye Amiss – with arguably more dynamism, but improvement to be made on his finishing. SEASON SO FAR: Cadman has put 14 goals on the board across six NAB League games, tending to kick them in bunches. On the three occasions he managed to boot multiple goals, Cadman finished with bags of three, four and five as a real force up forward. His presentation and ability to snaffle marks under opposition pressure makes him an ominous presence in full flight, and he should be a key figure for Vic Country at the upcoming championships.

CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
Melkshem fit to play but I'd be surprised if he's selected in the seniors.

I'd go with B1 and B2.

True, although I suspect West Coast is the real danger.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Contracted to 2025. Hard to see freo entertaining him in any deal as he's their best young mid and they lost Cerra just last year.

If both stay then something will have to gives sadly. Would be a shame if it's Harmes though, grew up a Melbourne supporter and kept faith by signing a long contract after our 2019 season.

Aaron Cadman - Key Forward Height: 194cm Weight: 88kg This is one player to keep an eye on during the upcoming stage league games as a potential Key Forward prospect. A member of the AFL academy, he plays for Greater Western Victoria Rebels where he played as a key defender in his under-age year. This year he has been switched to the forward line where he has kicked 18 goals in 7 games and has been praised for his repeat efforts and "vice like" marking. Reading some draft watchers opinions, including a writer from rookie me (formerly draft central), they believe he's poised to come into first round and potentially top 10 calculations as the premier key forward in the draft. Has been named for Vic Country which kick off their campaign next week vs SA on Sunday the 26th. In terms of our key forward stocks, we all know that B. Brown and Tmac are approaching the end of their careers and already proving inconsistent when on the park. Our key forward cupboard currently includes M. Brown (likely to be delisted) and Weideman (so far failed to cement a best 22 spot). JVR has yet to debut but shows promising signs at Casey. This should see a Key Foward become a primary area of focus for our recruiting team (as well as a developing ruck). Now perhaps this would be more appropriately addressed via trade and free agency but the cupboards are pretty bare this season with Dan McStay the best on the market so far. Another option would be to look within, with someone like Petty showing ability in the front half. However some would view that as robbing Peter to pay Paul. In my view we could do with another developing Key Foward on our list while Brown and McDonald can let them ply their craft at Casey. This link below is a fantastic resource for draft enthusiasts. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/

I'm not sure if there's been a recent change but we definitely acquired Dom Tyson from GWS after he signed earlier in the season.

NON-MFC: Round 14, 2022
Good results for us so far this round. Now for the weagles to upset the cats. Somehow.

Finn Emile-Brennan
Has been named in the Vic Country squad who will kick off their state league games next weekend vs SA on Sunday the 26th.

Low Attendance
Two Victorian teams in prime time on friday night, with one club boasting over 80,000 members, could only attract 33k in perfect conditions under roof. Just 2k more than our game vs freo on a thursday night.

Farewell Luke Jackson
He's not a free agent so West Coast will have to trade for him. In theory they can try and walk him through to the pre-season draft where Jackson can nominate contract terms but this rarely happens. If they finish 17th then they run the risk of North Melbourne claiming him who will definitely have the salary cap space to match. For him to go through to the PSD and nominate contract terms, Jackson would have to be a willing participant and would essentially be giving the middle finger to the club that drafted him, also his mates, and delivered him a premiership (hopefully two). It won't happen. If he wants to go home, we'll get a trade done. How favourable it is will remain to be seen. Their first round pick is non negotiable at the very least in my view.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Interesting. Obviously want him to stay but if he goes their top 2 pick would have to form part of the deal.

Are we confident Gawn is going to be able to get up in 9 days time with his back injury?
