So when do we here about compensation, 24 hours post paperwork being submitted or is that only for RFAs that haven't been matched?

Surprised there wasn't a thread started on him already. Had a really strong finish to his year that has put him well and truly into top 5, if not top 3, calculations. Played a couple games for Casey in the year. Possibly out of reach for us at pick 5 (perhaps 7 post GC and North FA compo), however we may still be able to make our way up the board for him if the club believes he's our man. This. I suspect we wouldn't even be able to get Reid if we did trade Clarry. Roos pick 2 and 3 or hawks pick 3 and future first have better cards.

Hate to put it out there but there is a chance that we lose Oliver and still don't have the draft capital to get Reid. If we want him gone we will probably accept unders. I know we survived without Oliver for 10weeks but we don't really have the midfield depth to cover him for a whole season. Our window will be slammed shut unless we can trade in some ready made mids.

That was my first thought if this actually eventuated. Pick 2 and 5 for 1 -> Reid Pick 3 -> Duursma or key forward if we can entice one

Do you know what's the ultimate plans for these picks? Reid and a key forward? I remember you posted being very happy about what's to come, can't imagine many people would have thought Oliver leaving would be a part of that.

I don't think so, could be wrong though. Over the years I haven't noted him to make outlandish claims about player movements. Most of what he says is fairly accurate and I put that down to him having multiple sources throughout the AFL. Doesn't mean he doesnt get stuff wrong or things change along the way. He's not Kane Cornes or a Heraldsun reporter I'll put it that way.
