Describing how these teams hate each other , Barry Melrose compared it to the USA against the Russians during the Cuban missile crises ! Gotta love Barry !!

The Battle of the Hudson ! Watched a bit of todays game and it wasn't as full on as the last time they met . Kings are just marching on , 6 away wins in succession . Rangers get through to the last 4 with a 2-1 win over Washington . From here on in we'll get a game virtually every day . With the exception of next Sat (oz time) . LA and Phoenix kick things off tomorrow at 10am . Not on Foxtel ! What am I paying a premium for ? Unacceptable . I'll find a way to tune into the game though . The Rangers play the Devils the following day . Hey 'GTG' - have they got a name for this match-up ? Like the subway series in baseball ? And does it get a bit "Willing" on the ice and in the crowd ?

Here's a track from 'Euge Groove' ( Steven Eugene Grove ) . This song takes a little while to get going but when it does , Steven gets to show his real talent . Some earthy sax here . Nice lead guitar break towards the end to round it out nicely . Macca 3.2

I read somewhere that the Nuggets are one of the leading "fast break" to score teams . Think that's how it's described anyways . I hope the Lakers get through . And I really do like watching Kobe play - especially when he's on . They play again on Sunday (our time) so hopefully Bryant is firing on all cylinders then . For similar reasons I'd like the Clippers to get through - Would like to see the Chris Paul and Blake Griffin show continue . Clippers are at home to the Grizzlies tomorrow - 11am ESPN .

A fan of Jamiroquai but haven't heard a lot of Moses Mayes though if that track is anything to go by , I'll have to get into some of their music . Great stuff . I like a fair bit of that funk/acid jazz from the 90's including 'Brand New Heavies' , 'Incognito' , 'Down to the Bone' , 'Urban Knights' , 'Marcus Miller' , 'Wayman Tisdale' , 'Brian Culbertson' and the 'Greyboy Allstars' .

At the moment both the Lakers and Clippers are "skating on thin ice" . Perhaps they need Kobe and Griffin to "Ice" their next games . oy vey

Well here's another Fleetwood Mac song from the late 80's . A lot of people liked their early stuff around the late 60's , early 70's but "Rumours" remains a standout album . Let me have a think on the 80's rock . So much of it really . Maybe we can have an 80's theme for a few weeks ? Or longer ! Others can post their fav's . Yep , the Thunder and the Spurs have a chance to rest up - a real plus in this cramped season . Clippers @ Memphis (3-1) tomorrow as well as the Knicks @ Miami (9am , Espn) That Staples centre is getting a workout . The Lakers , Clippers and the LA Kings Ice hockey team all play out of the venue . Apparently they just roll out (?) the basketball court out over the ice for NBA and WNBA games (Sparks)

Amazing how the 2 paths can be so different . You could argue that the 8 seeds are really the 15 and 16 seeds which makes the pathways even more dissimilar . The Devils wrapped it up today which puts our last representative on this thread out . Would have thought we might have at least got one of the Flyers , Penguins , Canucks or Sharks into the last 4 but to no avail . Next year ! Unless of course , there is somebody out there on Demonland who follows one of the 5 remaining teams ? Beware of the jinx factor though !! Phoenix get through after beating Nashville again to win 4-1 overall . Their match up with LA should be a beauty . I think the Coyotes get home ice advantage but LA won't care . They'll probably relish starting off away from home again . Over in the East the Rangers hold a 3-2 advantage over Washington after their last gasp win today . The Devils lead the Flyers 3-1 but Philadelphia may not be done with yet . They play each other tomorrow at 9.30am Oz time . On Fox3 'live' for those with cable .

Lakers win a close one but they seemed to be in control in the 2nd half . Great defence in the last 5 minutes . Oklahoma awaits (assuming LA get one more win , which seems a formality now) The Knicks get a win ! Anthony has a night out and Amare scored 20 . Didn't even think Stoudemire would play . The next game is in Miami . Boston had a big win over Atlanta . Just like the Lakers , Miami and the Sixers (who also won) the Celtics hold a 3-1 advantage . I know it's probably a no-brainer but I can't see any of the Knicks , Hawks , Nuggets or the Bulls having any chance now . Stranger things have happened though . The Bulls did well when Derrick Rose didn't play during the regular season . They need to get a wriggle on though . Atlanta would need to turn things around big time .
