  1. Hey @Engorged Onion. Thank you for your well articulated and thoughtful contribution. I agree with the notions expressed in your first four paragraphs. What I would say is this. The Love Shack and Jack Watts share the same characteristics, one of which is the inability to exert themselves physically on a game. This is not a lack of desire, but something that just isn't in their genetic make-up. I don't have it myself and this made me a very average footballer. 45 years after giving up on football, I know I definitely have 'hunger', but it expresses itself in a different way to that that is expected of footballers. Aussie Rules is a brutal game, and for some of us, so it is in life. Yet, somehow, hunger - expressed as resilience, tenacity and persistence, get us through the difficult encounters in the same way that toughness and brute strength are relied on by footballers. Once again, thanks for your fine contribution. QD.
  2. Adrian Diabolical not being sacked. 3. Nominee for post of the year.
  4. In 1972, Chinese premier Zhou Enlai was asked about the impact of the French Revolution. "Too early to say," he replied. If GWS or St. Kilda make it to a preliminary final, their bloke surely is CoTY. Our bloke is CoTY when we [censored] the Filth in the granny.
  5. What is the definition of a 'big club'?
  6. Back in the ol' days, I regularly went hard for a good ruck.
  7. That moment when you realise ‘Land is bat [censored] crazy and you just loose it.
  8. Are we talking about Fritta's foot or Ralph's brain @WalkingCivilWar?
  9. In that case, he definitely plays, alternating in the ruck with Max, chop out for Maysie and kicking the lazy six from the hotdog stand.
  10. I have watched all the great full-backs for the last 50 years. Maysie's name sits comfortable among them. To have Wetting-the-Bed and Andrews in front of him speaks to the ever-mounting evidence of the incompetence at Harrison House.
  11. Two weeks is an eternity in the skinny, low cell-count minds, of the AFL media. Most change their minds based on the last mark or tackle they witnessed. I heard Lloyd say recently that two current players at the one club were "once in a generation players" Absolutely astonishing.
  12. anything jeewrong related is bloody strange IMHO.
  13. So as it stands right now with, say, 12 minutes to go: Brisvagas wins Port hot faves to beat Ninethmond We play Filth at HQ first week finals whether win or loose tomorrow.

  15. I'm in good company by the sounds if it.
  16. Whatever you get on before you get on 'Land @jnrmac, I want some.
  17. A climax in late September is generally good for all parties involved.
  18. I definitely concede Northey - well done @Glorious Day. Garfield Ayres similarly. I would note however, unlike Simon, neither was, nor became, a premiership coach at level. So slightly different circumstances. But I've got to admit, your footy knowledge is bloody good.
  19. Dimma was actually under contract (as is Simon currently), and unless proven otherwise, I take him at his word. That is, he was burnt out and the players needed a new voice.
  20. I was waiting for this one - St. Kilda actually rat-[censored] Lyon. St Kilda have since all but admitted such.
  21. Can anyone actual name one coach in the last 50 years who was lost to a club in these circumstances?
  22. New record - price of a ticket to see the Deez at [censored] Cricket Ground = $88.
  23. Love to be a fly on the wall when he explains this away to bestie Stuart Dew.
  24. Apparently he is not contemplating a list clear-out.
