  1. . . . Everyone thinking we have big issues.
  2. I also find it hard to fathom Swoop. He was brilliant on TV as well. Yes, he had a few clangers. But the players that touch the ball the most often do. Max is as brilliant a ruck as I've seem in 50 years.
  3. I understand how players loose form (e.g. fitness, fatigue, confidence), but how does a whole coaching panel lose form? Should Goody, Williams, Ooze et al. be dropped, surrendered to the mid-season draft, traded to Freeo?
  4. I respectfully beg to differ @kev martin. Reading through the posts on this thread, I am transported to an alternative universe. Some posters: definitely watched a different game to me, fail to grasp even a modicum of complexity as it applies to the relationship between human nature and footy, lack the good grace to extend respect and dignity to some all time champions of a club who delivered, 10 months ago, the holy grail in a 40 minute 'other dimensional' execution of this glorious game, unmatched in the history of grand finals. The video tape machines at the other 17 clubs have been worn out pulling our game apart. Bevo can coach people. Yes, we shot off our feet a few times, but Bevo got us. And if I was Goody, I probably wouldn't have planned for English to play the one good game of his life against Max, nor JUH to seriously arrive on the same night. Sometimes the lack of perspective on these post-game threads is at least as ill-considered as Maysie's brain farts. Kettle/pot/black.
  5. It is indeed a bleak weekend for the club in the narrow context of season 2022, but this othering is surely a few fries short of a happy meal. Apart from the obvious, (i.e. who in their right mind seeks facts on Demonland?), what the hell is an incorrect fact?
  6. This is absolutely brilliant work BC. I love it. And there's only one place where this can come unstuck in its socialisation through the broader footy community. A workshop would need to be held on the second floor at Harrison House to explain it to BT, Lingy, Derm, Robbo and Basil Zempilas. That lot, and their likes, are flat out identifying the number '2' on the button panel in the lift, let alone understanding the sophisticated and nuanced approach of your proposal.
  7. That wouldn't be the same Harmes that set the Deez on the road to glory in the third quarter of last year's Granny would it?
  8. That would be Melbourne Premiership player Luke Jackson?
  9. Jesse is a part-time nut job. Would fit perfectly back in the Deez forward line as the counter balance to Maysie down back.
  10. Not sure Libba is a Rhode's Scholar.
  11. To whom much is given, much is expected.
  12. I come to 'Land for insight, quality analysis and a good laugh. The mainstream media, with one or two notable exceptions, would be the last place I would go. (And long live WCW)
  13. Ninthmond won it in 2020 with two players arrested.
  14. Indeed. We’d be really stuffffed with only 13 players on the ground.
  15. Auto spell check. Sux. Barings deleted from all dictionaries as well it seems.
  16. Failure: I mean Taylor. Barracks for himself.
  17. I would definitely take him if Colinwood paid the first million each year, they throw in the Daicos boys as the steak knifes and give an undertaking that Ginnivan wears shorts that fit him.
  18. Here is one answer FT. Matthew Lloyd's primary job is to make money for the entity in which he is working. These entities only have one primary objective . . . to make money. And this is done by selling advertising. And advertisers are only interested in one thing . . . eyeballs. So what does this mean? Shock jokes need to shock because that is what attracts eyeballs. Lloyd can actually analyse an individual game pretty well with his magic screen and pointer, but he has zero, absolutely nada, ability to connect the dots into a broader narrative which creates understanding. So what we are left with is the first and last thought that ran through his brain in the last 30 minutes. And why does Lloyd operate like this? I would suggest that he has at least $1M reasons.
  19. And only only ones throwing the darts in the first place are those who didn't poke their eye out first.
  20. The ol' DCM. I would add, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And don't even think about coming near Gosh's.
