  1. Stick fat. That said, I'm sure Col will cope. Twill be hard though.
  2. Colin Graham is the first Aborigine I can remember since following Melbourne. A talented 1970's left footer/wingman. Ultimately, wouldn't have played 50 games though, from memory.
  3. I've noticed your improvement of late. Keep it up.
  4. Good post, Jaded. From what I know, Judd is a relatively quiet guy who doesn't crave the limelight. There's no doubt that he was reluctant to captain WC this year, but the footy club leaned on him. I doubt very much that he'd be comfortable walking in and being captain in his first year. I don't think he's the type.
  5. My biggest concern with Sylvia is OP, not his shoulder being in a sling. It may be giving his legs the break they need. Anyway, we'll all know in a few months, til then, take things in your stride. We'd all like no rehab group, but reality suggests otherwise.
  6. My order: Ottens Mundy Yze
  7. Miller has his first decent game in months and he quickly closes the gap. He has a dog of a day tomorrow and he's useless again. Don't you love those besotted by the 'moment'.
  8. If Miller had LRT's pace he'd be better. The fact is, we as a footy side are in a quandary. Carroll and Rivers are better than Miller down back and Robbo and Neitz are better up forward. There aren't any many forward-lines that play 3 kpp's these days, so where does this unnnatural footballer fit in ? BTW, it didn't look like a typo
  9. At least Neitz would've made them think. And I'd have LRT over Miller any day.
  10. You have a valid point. There's no doubt that ND and the club have held Miller in high regard. He didn't make the small leadership group on the back of his talent. No doubt everyone is disappointed with his progress this year, not least Miller himself. That said, he's not good enough. Who here thinks he would have made the Brisbane side that won 3 flags ?
  11. You and I see two very different footballers. He's a poor mark (chest/hands), isn't remarkably good when the ball is on the deck, he's not a great kick, he's undisciplined, makes poor decisions (had Jones free inboard but kicked poorly to a contest on the wing), lacks awareness, and doesn't kick goals. If you aspire to a premiership you have to get better than Brad Miller.
  12. You are joking, right ? Nobody would love Miller to be an excellent kpp more than me, but I prefer to deal in reality. Reality is, Miller simply isn't a good enough AFL footballer. Well, not if you aspire to win a flag.
  13. That's the plan.
  14. I agree, Rhino. I'm bemused by those supporters doubting the ability of Dunn to contribute in a final. I don't expect domination, but he brings variety to our side and is a difficult matchup for the opposition when they're already trying to cover Neitz and Roberston. On a side note, I expect Miller to play forward this week. If need be he can go onto Hall, but I expect Carroll to take Hall, Rivers to take O'Loughlin, and Ferguson to take Rivers zoning role. ND needs to do something different this week, and I believe we can stretch the Swans backline. The agile Dunn can play the traditional chf's role on LRT, with Miller and Neitz deeper in the forward line. I'd play through the leading Dunn as much as possible to take LRT away from supporting Barry. He needs to run LRT off his feet. We need to be unpredictable tomorrow.
  15. Mate, my brother and I have been picking 'best teams' and 'who'd you rather' over beers for 20 years (not continuously :D ). It's a part of footy I enjoy and makes winter go quicker. What gets you through the cold months ? Lighten up.
  16. It's a very tight vote. I went for the natural footballer.
  17. I'm interested in the thoughts of anyone who's seen the tape (CD) but wasn't old enough to watch Robbie 'live'. What did you think ?
  18. A very big thankyou to Marc and particularly Ash for enabling me to re-live many of my fondest memories. I was priviliged enough to see nearly all of Flower's career, and to be able to reminisce is such a great pleasure. The greatest wingman of all time, the greatest goal kicking wingman of all time, and I've no hesitation in saying the greatest marking midfielder of all time. And to think so little of his finest moments were captured on tv.
  19. Schimma played with a dogged determination not dissimilar to Paul Kelly, but he had more skill. Whilst a fine and enduring player he lacked the brilliance of Flower. Barrassi played in a similar vain to Schimma and Kelly, hence imo, his bias.
  20. Greig is overrated. One of my great disappointments in life is that Flower wasn't named on the wing in the TOTC. The legacy of playing in a [censored] team. And as many of us know, he shone when paired with the best in State games. It's also harder to dominate in a crap side - which Robbie did. A true 'star' of the game, not just our club.
  21. My Jewish mate is coming over tomorrow. I'll let him know. I'm not familiar with you Adrian. I'll pay closer attention.
  22. Mate, it's Chritmas -- nothing else.
  23. Flower was faster, more evasive, and a better mark. Hird has influenced the result of more games. At their best Flower is the better pure footballer but Hird arguably more valuable. Hird will be/is rated more highly by history. If I had one criticism of Robbie it would be the defensive side of his game. His opponents could definately get a kick on him. But I'm splitting hairs. I love the guy.
  24. Markc I'd also be eternally grateful to have a copy. Let me know the details.
