  1. ... read the post again, and maybe turn on your sense of humour this time!
  2. Don't disagree, but I would argue that he is coming in armed with very little information, and as you indicate a fairly large ego. Coming out and saying it would be a 'feather in his cap' to turn the exit of Neale around.... ?? Really? I think more damage was done prior to Bell's appointment with Rosich effectively rubber stamping a few odd list decisions that now Bell is trying to unpick.
  3. His value should be higher now, but demand for him next year could be higher if WCE join the race for his services.
  4. Bit harsh Nasher, Bell is an upgrade on Steve Rosich Freo lost/let go both their list manager and their general manager of football. Bell fills the latter, but surely they would have elevated an existing scout or similar albeit temporarily. But they are making themselves looks like fools at the moment.
  5. ... and in that article it sounds like any trade negotiations with Brisbane have Freo insisting on 5 and another first round pick, yet they think they can low ball us with Hogan. something is seriously wrong in their headspace.
  6. Sydney have nothing to offer MFC as compensation even if it was remotely true. ... actually it doesn't show Hogan as a mercenary. It shows that the MFC want to move Hogan out of the club and value what May could bring. Hogan is in the middle of all of this, I don't think he's instigating anything, although the rumours of him leaving don't ever seem to have died down!
  7. Has Hogan said he wants to be traded? I didn't hear that yet... *Edit* didn't see replies on prev page... apologies.
  8. Agreed. I think Kent probably has shown enough to suggest that he can be best 22 when fit, but on the body of work... the guy has just had rotten luck with injuries. Thats why he's moving on.
  9. Lincoln McCarthy, who has been as injured as Kent went for pick 61... Ryan Clarke as you say went for 61, and didn't Gary Rohan get traded for that pick too? 65 sounds about right!
  10. Worse than losing him to the saints via the PSD?
  11. not only the 6-6-6 that is valuable for key forwards and backs. The hands in the back rule being relaxed to allow players to 'protect' the drop zone of the ball.... very interesting.
  12. Because like us (with Hogan returning West) they might be sick of the hype, and don't want another year of it. They might get a high pick, but the speculation and disruption to the club for another 12 months given that his manager has stated that he'll either stay on an extended contract or leave this year... 11 by itself might be low in their eyes, but it's above market worth for the player and he's 26 (27?) so might only have 3-5 solid years left.
  13. ... best in category for AFL trade period journalism conducted by muppets that don't require hands up their nether regions to move and speak!
  14. Kent out as well, but also manage to keep AVB!
  15. They might now be looking to push 6 and 10 to the GC to get either pick 2 or 3. I also wonder if we secure pick 5, whether we will be looking to trade to Adelaide/Port for some slightly later picks... or players.
  16. It's prohibited without prior approval / clearance from the AFL. However... if the deal was Pick 5 and the future first round pick for Freo for Hogan, and our future third round pick... it balances back out technically.
  17. .... you've seen how many members we've got Bob. We need answers when we post here!
  18. Two things, firstly would Hogan be heading off to Bali on a surfing trip if there is any doubt with his 'Medical' with Freo? Secondly I can't see Josh Mahoney GOING to the media saying that he expects it will be one of the more expensive trades ever were to move to Freo. Sounds to me that Peter Bell is trying to get across the state of their list ASAP, and whether there are other issues that he has to tick off before they can process Hogan, Lobb and Neale in and out of the club. Looks like a power play going on behind the scenes at Freo! (Not sure if Bell v Lyon v Rosich, or Bell v Lyon/Rosich) Feels like the latter, and that Bell might have been put in there by the board. With all that said it's a horrible look that the CEO is looking after list management .... Bell is their footy manager, they don't have a list manager currently. Club is looking very reactive atm! If we pull off a trade with Freo for Hogan, I'd almost be tempted to request 5 and next years first round pick, cos there is a chance you could land the 2019 number 1 pick out of the trade.. EDIT: This is purely speculation on my point.... so it's possibly as accurate as what a lot of the journo's are putting out there!
  19. ... the starting point is Freo and Lachie Neale, followed by Hogan saying he wants to move. They have 3 first round picks to play with (if you look at next years pick too.) If they want Lobb and Hogan coming in, I suspect that these three picks go out the door, you might get some change coming back the other way, or you have to lose a quality player along with the trade.
  20. it doesn't have any bearing.... also we might have offered Pruess a 4 year deal at 300k. It's not a big contract, but it's a contract with job security. With that said,... with a lot of clubs looking for rucks at the moment, West Coast, Richmond, etc... I don't quite understand coming to play behind Gawn.
  21. .... Hardball? Perhaps I am being naive but Hogan hasn't said anything to the MFC, so neither club knows his intentions. Freo don't look like they are budging on Neale leaving.... which limits what they have to play with too! I don't think Freo has indicated anything about what they plan on offering for Hogan, it's purely media speculation and rubbish out of mouths of people like Sam Maclure that has driven this at this point.
  22. Ouch! replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sad we couldn’t get him, but still don’t really like free agency! So I guess I am glad to see players resist and show loyalty.
  23. It would be a disaster to accept a single pick, however there is no reason to suggest that Freo don't offer pick 5 and next years first year pick would be similar type of pick (5-9)
  24. the stupid thing with Maclures argument isn't that we might have to give up pick 5 to land May. Most people expect that is likely to be the case... it's thats he is making trade 1 = trade 2. Trade 2 is between the MFC and the Gold Coast. Trade 1 is the trade for Hogan is with Freo, and we should land pick 5, but Melbourne demand and expect more than just that. I don't think that the muppet knows how to do maths.... yet he is taking pot shots at Dal Santo for spelling!
  25. I can't stand listening to him, but I can't turn it off. Been a long week, trying to get to the end of the day, and I think I'm being fuelled by my hatred of him to get me there!
