  1. Either or, he's going to have far less time and space next year but there's no doubting Oliver's ability.
  2. Obviously they were the passages of play where he either got out traffic or dished it off to the best option. I'm sure he would've got pinned for HTB plenty of times as well. The impressive thing to me was he just seemed have that natural nous to dance his way out of congestion, rather than a JKH who tries admirably, but never looks comfortable in doing so.
  3. Goodness me, that kid will play senior footy next season. How many opposition players did he turn inside-out in that footage? Tough, composed, skilful and a fair dose of mongrel.
  4. Sheez. We didn't draft the kid so it's okay to hang crap on him, is it? I feel sorry for any kid that ends up at the dung heap.
  5. Wtf.. Where did I make that allusion?
  6. That same argument could be made for the Bombers with Daniher. Bombers might snare Wiedeman before our pick 7.
  7. Any draftee that comes to the club now has a significantly better chance of becoming an AFL level player than what they did before Roos and Jackson came on board. They're now 'entering' a professional environment and into a club actually operating the way it should. If we blow another top 5 - 10 pick before we're (out of that market) I'll be very surprised.
  8. Isn't it ironic that the media report that the AFL have turned trade period into such a hyped up show, whereas in actual fact, it's root cause is probably found more at the fingertips of forum posters. Hacks like Barrett and co plagiarise and sensationalise it a little and fuel the big dirty trade period monster.
  9. This is the first time I've posted in this thread. I hope the content below is appropriate - given from what I've read on this page alone it looks as though a few can do with a chuckle. Read this today by a poet from Vic who is a long time Eagles follower. TRADE IS POETIC KARMA by Josh Vinecombe I'd like to reflect as an Eagle, On Carlton's trade for Judd, The one involving Kennedy, When the PM was Kevin Rudd. With Kreuzer, Gibbs and Murphy, And the cash of Richard Pratt, Carlton's hopes were growing, While ours was dashed with that The trade of the century, Our Captain and Number 3 For an unproven forward, In the shape of Kennedy. Which club would be the winner Only finals tell the score. Now it's eight years later We know who won for sure In the year that Judd retires, The Eagles are Number 2 Kennedy wins the Coleman And the Wooden Spoon is Blue
  10. Considering we're going to get a similar value pick for Howe, giving up 25 on Melksham is reasonable in my opinion. FD thinks he'll be in the 22 on game day and he's a mature body.
  11. Please don't rubbish this thread any further.
  12. Geez, Colin. Sticking it up Duhwayne would be more crucial than getting a long term contract extension with Hogan? Mate, I hate the pelican too, but come on...
  13. Correct.
  14. Yeah, and that's why he's playing waffle footy.
  15. I can't last that long.
  16. I can't get past the idea that Geelong are looking like picking up Dangerfield, Henderson and now a good chance of landing Scott Selwood. Surely they won't have enough draft picks to trade and all these deals will require substantial player swaps as well.
  17. The blokes a midget, albeit a fast one.
  18. Damn you! You've now forced me to actually go and read some of his trash journalism. I feeling a little violated. Ed; so other don't have to: Melbourne (If) there's a team we feel is keeping its cards close to its chest as trade period looms ... ... (Then) it is this one. Predicting a massive play from left-field.
  19. We beat 3 of those sides and lost to the other by 2 points. Apart from the Dogs, there's not a great deal in it.
  20. The consensus amongst commentators (apart from that stroker Duh-Wayne) is that the MFC have the most promising set of youngsters. I reckon Jesse knows this too.
  21. Generational player.
  22. Maybe I'm just choosing to see it that way.
  23. Paraphrased. Same thing.
  24. Playing finals next year is almost a prerequisite in keeping Hogan at MFC. The Dockers will lose some big name veterans and begin to slide in 2017 thereby losing some appeal. The Eagles will be around the mark for the next 5 years based in their average list age and pose a bigger risk, although with Kennedy and Darling they are very healthy for power forwards. MFC must show vast improvement next year to keep the Hulk.
