  1. I suspect the case would have either been thrown out or at worse another fine issued Mr Leg. Eddie and the Pies are No.1 in Gil's eyes and have been at AFL level for quite some time imv. A very special cosy association...
  2. Even if the Pies get through there's a strong possibility they might be without Grundy WW
  3. Eddie says hello SW
  4. Meanwhile....Banana's been banned in Bali... https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/world/tourists-to-be-hit-with-bali-bonk-ban/news-story/328dab4f0d9157d8a9325593dff3b850?utm_campaign=EditorialSF&utm_source=HeraldSun&utm_content=SocialFlow&utm_medium=Twitter
  5. Papley seems more likely to go to Norf LH. Martin appears to be a lock with the Blues but with Casboult likely to be loosed does that mean the Blues are still eager to add another KF to their stocks? Patton might have other options of course and this might be one of a few meet & greets prior to deciding.
  6. Range is gonna be upset. Touring Ikon Park this morning apparently.
  7. Great summary ty Gents. May we never return to that dusty bowl that offers absolutely nothing to the mighty redlegs. One of many boxes we need to tick off in our climb back to greatness including .... > home base (outside the CBD if necessary ); and > Training on our traditional home turf - the G (at least once a week).
  8. Yes our angry friend mentioned fitness wasn't the issue up there WB...again! Said "cohesion and consistency" were the issues. I assume he us speaking about the players not having the usual amount of training time together as a unit on the park. While I have no doubt this would have had a significant effect, there's also no way every player was fit in terms of a full pre-season fit either. I have heard of at least two players who were only able to complete half of the required sessions usually expected. They may well have completed their required loads as angry bird said but this would have been over a massively reduced program. Two isn't alot but probably weren't alone and they were both top of the tree seniors. The above two factors no doubt contributed and among so many it was on show from the opening rounds.
  9. Ah good ol' Saty. Would he ever say different? Why i have him on block. Didn't have time to question the source and there was a reluctance to go further anyway so who knows, Saty could be correct or he might be just sprouting what's said to him publicly. Either way, Burgess looks to be a significant upgrade. Agreed on the first part. If we were talking a runner or physio etc neither here nor there.
  10. The Burgess factor should likely play a significant role in our bounce next season Ron. My mail suggesting this area dropped the ball and "some" felt the Burgess handover couldn't come soon enough. The replacement probably a year too late in hindsight.
  11. Finally a worthy 'non-puff piece' update from the club. Most of the prior ones so far have been complete drivel or cringeworthy. He would be well in the leadership group or Co. Captain by now had he not had such a wretched run of luck. Absolutely love the way Vanders goes about his training and game day white line efforts. No coincidence in his return from about Rnd 15 last year and our back half finish. Imagine a co captaincy of Big M and AVB or a Captain / Vice Captain combo. I realise there's too much risk and not enough recent runs on the board for this to happen but, had things been different, i feel we would never have seen the horrid drop off this season, even with the same pre-season / injury issues we had. May the footy gods be with AVB from here on. If he gets some decent game time in over the next 5 years he could be the difference between a decent bounce back and making finals on a regular basis.
  12. A Fawlty article then Mr Leg?
  13. Where there's smoke? ... https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/could-hawks-coach-clarkson-find-a-new-home-at-freo-six-points-to-ponder-20190911-p52qc1.html
  14. Axis by the time i read all that i was super tired myself!
  15. I have a sneaking suspicion we would be near or at the top of the "recruiting fails" tree if a study was ever done on it over the last three to four decades Mach.
  16. The MFC seems to have perpetual access to a konga line of NQR players that come onto the list, play from zero up to about 30 to 50 games or so, have zero to minor/marginal impact and then disappear into the nether nether usually due to some obscure injury or head knocks. Except of course for those that come back to sue! A few recent examples.... Harry O, Maynard, Bull Smith, Terlich, Michie, Filopovich, Johnstone, Bail, Fitzpatrick, Ben Ken, Riley, Hulett, Toumpas, Barry, Byrnes, Clarke, Clisby, Nicholson, Tapscott, Gillies, Georgiou, Rodan, Bennell, Cook, Sheahan, Williams, Lawrence, Couch, Taggert, Blease, Tynan, Strauss and Sellar etc etc. Walker another addition to that list with pretty much zero impact before being smitten by another obscure injury. KK possibly another addition in 2020.
  17. The old saying laughter is the best medicine definately very helpful for us WWS. Glad you got a chuckle and sometimes needed at work. I'm pretty much done for the year on here other than the odd interest in relevant trade news and this thread! The dude leaving the office meeting via the window has me in stitches as it was so apt to so many boring office yawn fests i attended over the decades.
  18. I think that was always going to be the case TK. His Manager (and his good self) would be mad not to wait. Each appearance in a final effectively ups his value somewhat, assuming he doesn't incur a significant injury or put in a horror.
  19. If you don't mind me asking, in way 39?
  20. Sure isn't McQ. Although Kelly appears to be playing more of his time forward of centre or if he isn't his speed and agility might be getting him into more areas where he can receive more often, taking more shots. More than double on average here. Speed factor also seeing him close down on opponents a bit more often? Tackles & pressure acts are a fair way ahead of Gaff. Significantly higher clearance averages across the board. Contested and ground ball also. Gaff has him in the air a little on marks/intercepts. Gaff also wins quite well on uncontested which i wouldn't have figured. Although he is said to have an insane tank so that might explain the ability to get separation from opponent and get on the end of it. Surprisingly (for me anyway) Gaff also has Kelly well covered on disposal efficiency (73% vs 64.3%) and more importantly kicking efficiency (64.1% vs 54.3%). Would be handy if we could get a hold of their kick ratings. Either one would be a handy addition and major improvement to the list... https://m.afl.com.au/stats/stats-pro#/Compare?playerIds=CD_I295898,CD_I290801&comparisonTab=h2h
