  1. 6. Rivers by the length of the Flemington & with significant mid minutes ... 80% CBA! Welcome to the mid field son!!!!! Should've happened weeks ago but took a Tracc tragedy for Goody to pull the trigger. Keep him there FCS 5. Viney. Best game since Rnd 4 but still a bit off with the most turnovers on the night of any player (8). 4. May ...Larkey in red hot form coming in ...kept to zero goals. Massive win for May and we don't win the match if he doesn't achieve the above (& Brown doesn't stick that tackle). 1 goal and we were done. 3. Maxy. Not his best match but still solid as and Xerri is a seriously good ruckman, including at ground level. Norf have found a beauty here. 2. Salem. Gutsy, reliable and serviceable until subbed. Just needs to pull the trigger more often and quickly. Bit slow to move ball on at times which sees opponent getting numbers behind the ball too often & forwards left to wonder... "what if!?" His mate Bowey is the worst offender here though. Let's hope Moniz has a solid game today. Goodwin needs to bring him straight in for Bowey if so. Massive liability down back on present form. Howes not far behind! 1. ANB...a typical dour 'Nibbla' type game 💪🏼
  2. Round 15, 2024 MCG - Demons vs Kangaroos Scoring Efficiency Demons Kangaroos Disposals Per Goal 26.0 35.7 % In50s Goal 23.4 20.8 Conversion % 73.3 58.8 Average Attributes Melbourne Attribute North Melbourne 186.9cm Height 188.5cm 86.0kg Weight 85.3kg 25yr 4mth Age 24yr 9mth 106.2 Games 82.7 Melbourne Games North Melbourne 8 Less than 50 9 5 50 to 99 6 1 100 to 149 5 5 150 to 200 2 4 200 or more 1 Our efficiency may have gotten us over the line in the end. Team Rating, Top 6 players rating, bottom 6 players rating (from the best 22) are all at record lows. Certainly the lowest for this season and, without trolling through past results, potentially since 2017? I can't see us getting close to the Lions but we could be bolstered down back with the return of Lever (assuming he makes it) and potentially a few more in form players coming in via Casey if some perform at a high enough standard tomorrow. Rivers spending significant time through the middle for the second time this season, achieving the No.1 rating for the second week running! Keep it going please Simon. That's a great result for Rivers and for us. However, this positive news was offset big time by the performance of Clarry. That would be up there with his worst ever (statistical) performance since joining the club. What can we do here? Sestan for Clarry with a good showing against North tomorrow at Casey? Another very poor result for Bowey. 44% off his 2023 season rating. Moniz would surely be close to getting a call up if he performs again tomorrow yes? Langdon, Windsor and JVR not great as well although JVR at least presented well on a few occasions, clunked a couple and made the most of his shots with fairly limited game time (68%). Very nice work from Maysie coming in at No.2 for the Demons and keeping Larkey goalless while also posting their worst rating of the night (bar their sub). Incredibly that was not Petty's worst rating for the season. That came in round 7 vs the Tigers when he posted a negative rating with a -0.22 Posting a lower rating than the debutante Brown on 10% game time as sub! Viney wins the turnover king award today with 8. Petty, Clarry, Langdon and Xerri all finishing with a hefty 7 turnovers. The Roos just edging out the Demons with a total of 70 vs the Demons with 67. 3. T-Mac a huge space to kick the ball into about 25 out from goal. Get it in there quick and let a forward or Max hit up into that space but nup. Hang on to the ball forever then kick it deep to the pocket to 6 players!!! FFS
  4. "Back to the 9" when its a Norf player near the point post but for us the Norf player is allowed to set his own mark, over the actual mark and about 3 meters from the boundary line lol
  5. Amazing how the rule is supposed to be fake HBs arent counted but when its us its different lol
  6. Can't do much more than get it forward quickly under some pressure though. Turner needed to trap it. Poor ground level skills / body work
  7. Wow doesn't get much softer than that
  8. Absolutely this The AFL are the biggest bunch of BShiiiteers going They imposed the rule for roughly the first two games in the round after the Scott whinge and conference call to Tax Payer Park and then reverted back to the same old crappola
  9. Turner a massive PITB there no free lol
  10. Finally some time through the middle (outside of Brissy in the second half ... 5 clearances!)
  11. Doesn't have the two way running capability or any burst speed at present Big no for mine
  12. Finally a tall forward stands up and takes a contested under pressure. Well done Rooh
  13. Defence solid Mid field not bad Forwards .... Pffft AGAIN (Turner ok)
  14. Clarry's copping a heavy tag but just doesn't appear to have the leg power and speed to push through the contest and hit the ball at speed. Will need a huge pre-season to fix that and get back to his best. Playing him deep forward is probably about the only option from here to try n shake the tag and maybe hit the scoreboard or get involved in some score assists plus pressure i50.
  15. Fritsch & Kozzy VERY soft at the contest. Bowey a liability down back. Obviously mid field depth is shot but we are also seriously lacking a competitive medium tall forward beast aka Melk Great goal from Riv there
  16. Why not both They are both critical
  17. This is why i'd be aiming for a top line recently retired ex forward to come in and sort this hot mess of ours out Mono. It's beyond the pale that it's still happening now after so many years under Simon. Very amature stuff for far too long. Too many seasons, lists and high quality mids, defenders and others wasted along the way. I'd be aiming at a top liner who's done and seen it all.... IF they're willing. Entice them with a medium term three year plus contract on heavy coin. They'd be worth their weight in gold imv and the improvements would be relatively quick i would think. At least after a pre-season and about one season of live matches to nail the changes down. Examples who've had sustained impact & success might include... Recently played / retired or likely to retire in 2024... 👉🏼 Tom Hawkins 👉🏼 Ablett Jnr. Played extensively with great success through the middle as well as HF. Would bring some incredible experience and knowledge / perspective in terms of bringing unison, communication and cohesion. 👉🏼 Jack Riewoldt 👉🏼 Jake Melksham* 👉🏼 Other? Close to retirement but might be able to bring some on field coaching, guidance & value if snared and can play on for another season or parts of a season in 2025 (including a few Casey games to assist the likes of Jeffo / other forwards)... 👉🏼 Tex Walker 👉🏼 Tom Hawkins 👉🏼 Jake Melksham* 👉🏼 Other? *No slight on Jake and just my opinion but would ideally prefer an outsider to assess and ring in the changes
  18. Played significant ruck minutes last match. Looks like that experiment went well.
  19. So if we assume this is the case, and not saying it is. Is there a chance SG is looking to pull up stumps at season's end to move up there? Especially given all the pressures he spoke of in the Age interview a few weeks back. This sneaks out about a month ago and presto, there goes the playing group's passion and along with it the form of many which drops off a cliff (for now)? The balloon burst so to speak. Probably very far fetched but stranger things have happened and a few weeks or months can be a lomg time in footy as we witnessed with Dimma.
  20. So arguably the greatest player ever to have played the game will never be inducted due to some off field issues yet there's an exception for filth players with similar past discretions? If that is the case then get ready for DeGoey to be fast tracked in record time by HQ & their marketing team.
  21. Those two words don't inspire me with much confidence given how we often play in anything that smells of slippery, greasy or wet.
  22. Unfortuantely that word and the MFC have not really gone together since the last part of 2021 D Rev. Oh and a large part of the first half of 2022. And we are a long way off the level of that team at present plus the loss of our equal best player so far for the remainder. If Simon unleashes the shackles and brings in some new blood. Some run and carry off HB via Moniz and possibly Woe. Plus serious Rivers time through the middle. Melk & Smacca start to show something. Petty, Chandler, Bowey and Sparrow get replaced. Alternatively Petty is sent back again till Lever returns and we see a miracle entre from either BBB or Fullo into Petty's role. Maybe maybe. Alot of IFs though.
  23. That's 7 years ago. Imagine how much further down the corruption track HQ would be now! And then there's this little ditty of an excerpt. Look away SWY!... McLachlan said on Friday: "I actually thought [Buckley's suggestion] was quite a good idea. "There's a responsibility everywhere, our players, coaches, officials, everyone's held incredibly accountable every day.
  24. You mean not even brought back over 'the mark they are setting themselves'! Stand rule is and always was a complete farce about 4 to 6 months after its introduction.
