Not a monarchist but had alot of time for the Queen. All class and never wavered. 70 years at the top is some effort. First anthem i learned in Preps was God Save the Queen (no not the Sex Pistols version!).... just before my 2nd 'It's a Grand Old Flag'. The one and only time i actually got to see her was in a drive by as she arrived at the Braemar Gathering as the final event of the Grampian Highland Games in Scotland, 1974. Also handing out the cups & shields at the end. If you've never been and want to see strong hairy men toss cabers (wooden poles!), put stones and throw hammers in their colourful kilts and sporrans. Along with highland dancing and some of the best pipe bands you'll ever hear, i'd highly recommend it as a once in a lifer day out/experience. Beautiful country side and surrounds also. May she rest in peace.

The teams thread is certainly on a holy bender this evening. Reckon i might have to rattle off three hail Marys after reading that. Thanks Rev

I would add Gus, Kozzy, Viney, Spargo, LJ & Max (to a lessor degrree) to that list

DC after reading this potentially unauthorised insight of the great Uncle Bitters i am starting to have suspicions that you and the maid just might be one and the same! -

He was doing the same last Thurs Kev. Hopefully he can butter up but there's no g'tees in footy especially finals which tend to go next level in pressure, speed on the ball and whatever -

I would be flummoxed if there's a Lander that doesn't think Uncle is loverly WCW. Although you being with him might explain all that BFFL nonsense with the boys as i'm betting there was probably some wiffy clarety coloured substance in your thermoses (note plural). Certainly nothing like the bogus labels plastered on the front of 'em which read "Uncle's Loverly Hot Chocolate" & "WCW's Deviled Coffee" -

Yes just some 'If wishes were horses' nonsense from me Andy. Expecting T-Mac & JVR to go around again at Casey. Not expecting much to happen on the changes front either although Bedford & Smith sounds interesting. Hopefully that doesn't mean Fritta is out. -

Yes he looks bigger framed than on the box. Still plenty of room for some extra muscle in the next few years. Has a good leap on him. In marking contests there's a glimpse of Robbo at times. Penny's finally dropped or is this a common theme at training? -

Dont worry...Subliminal messages usually play out 36 hours later 1858 👍🏻 -
I agree but it should happen 43. Salem's form / intensity / lack of run was a mile off anything that resembled AFL levels last week.... let alone manic finals football. Rocket up Kozzy, Spargo. Their efforts (at times) when we didnt have the ball was atrocious. Then there was Melk's & Gus's horribilis. Competely MIA. BB, LJ, Lever & Viney...pretty ordinary on the night. Most teams can cover a player or two having off games. Not uncommon, even in a final. Can they cover six/seven etc. Highly unlikely, even in a regular H&A IMV unless.you're playing a lowly ranked team which of course doesn't happen in finals. Team efforts win finals and we left too little to way too few last week. How we even got within three goals of the Swans is a tribute to the few who stepped up big time and some others behind those who played either very solid or serviceable games.

He's had some good games at Casey but not door breaking (so far) W. Having said that he shouldv'e been given at least a small block of matches earlier around the North match to see where he's at in that development. Might have surprised on the up side, who knows. Regardless would have been great for his development also. Same with Chandler and Bedford's look was too choppy. Needed a decent block of games around that time as well. Nothing worse than bringing young blokes in and chopping them a week or two later IMV. As for JVR playing next year, well that's stating the obvious.
-
He's shown some glimpses of being very good at VFL level Roost. In the end it would come down to quality of delivery plus JVR making the most of his chances. Macca must be very close though and if somewhere around 90% match fit he would probably get the nod. His experience would be invaluable if he is ready and would make for another tricky match up conundrum for the Bears.
-
I like Mr Hood but someone would need to come out for JVR. That's one of LJ & Melk and can't see Maxy being left as the sole ruckman so would have to be Melk. And would you not have Macca in ahead of JVR?
-
There might not be a 'next week'
-
If Max was a tad younger and/or fully fit you could possibly go in with just Max and swap LJ for JVR. Push BB more time playing higher up to help out down the line in a CHF type role, JVR playing mostly deep.
-
I agree pace is a factor. Both ways ...ie away from congestion / opponent and closing speed. If you want pace i reckon Bedford has to be close to the quickest on our list or at least as quick as the likes of Hunt & Kozzy. I'd love to see him in this week for ANB.

Is there some online vision of this other than trolling through the replay Red? -

Not a bad idea FAR but then we have the problem of being a rotation down through the middle. -

Hope you've recovered Uncle. I won't ask how the maid is fairing.
