I’m nervous. Not going to lie. Brisbane are a hell of a lot better than they showed last week. They are also a much much better team than the Dogs.

I mean of course they won’t risk him if he isn’t right. But I think if we win and he is right to go they might still choose to give him one more week just to be extra extra cautious.

They were never going to risk him. I thought it was laughable that they’ll let our third most important player, aged 30, only have a week off with a calf strain. If we win tonight I also don’t think they’ll risk him next week. It’s a very very long season.

Every coach would plan for and around May. Him not playing will change their plans.

Troy Chaplin could not be less convincing that May will play. We clearly won’t risk him. We are just toying with Brisbane. They have to plan around May.

I did mention that the game is getting more and more about elite fitness and two way running. When Lions and Hawks won their 3 in a row the game was vastly different. It was still an incredible effort, no doubt about it, particularly for the Lions who were an interstate side, but it is certainly more and more difficult these days. Richmond did it most recently and had incredible luck with injuries. As you said when they lost Dusty to injury and luck ran out, so did their flag. They were also lucky that there was no other really outstanding team pushing them consistently in those years. For me the Lions 3 peat is one of the most remarkable of the modern era. They had a few outstanding competitors in Essendon and Port, and they also had to play away from home to win it.

No opposition supporter wants to look at team changes and see May, Viney and Fritsch as the ins. It is definitely disheartening.

I am loving the arrogance in this thread. Hope it pays off. I wonder if the Lions supporters are lurking around going “can’t wait to beat these arrogant so and so” 😂
