  1. Sad news for Murphy. Never good to have someone retire with brain injuries. Maynard still sleeping like a baby tho 🙄😡
  2. Whether it’s this year or next, we are going to need another tall forward be it to replace Brown or Petty or both. Perhaps the club is confident that Adams will come good down back and will be able to replace Tmac/May in the longer term, and they see a more immediate need to find another fall forward. Also with Hore now on the list, there is probably a bit of overlap for that third intercept defensive role.
  3. He’s opened a wine bar in Richmond Apparently it’s dog friendly too
  4. Their defense has never been good enough to finish top 4 and that’s the truth. A strong defense can make up for lackluster performances, which every side has during the season. Hell we got destroyed on Thursday night but we still kept our opponent to under 100 points. Having said that, they’re good enough to make the 8, but I doubt they will.
  5. Incorrect. Bont, Libba and McRae (why is he in the VFL) plus English is an A midfield. Inside 50 they have JUH, Naughton and Weightman. Plus Dale is excellent at half back. They have a list good enough to not lose to Essendon. End of story.
  6. This Bulldog team, despite having a horrible backline, has way too much talent in the midfield and up forward to be this shizen. Bevo needs to go. Or stay. I don’t really care to be honest.
  7. Our website https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1528132/injury-news-salem-oliver
  8. Salem out for 4-6 weeks. Bad news for us especially with Bowey still out for a little while.
  9. How, when it’s been made very clear that potential to cause a head injury is now automatically graded medium? He dump him into the ground. Sparrow got a week for a very similar thing last year against the Hawks.
  10. Anyone has any inside word on the severity of Salem's hamstring? Can't say I am shocked that he's played 5 consecutive games only to break down with a soft tissue injury. Such a shame.
  11. I mean how did he not cut across inside 50 in under 2 seconds when Trac completely ignored him in an open 50 and kicked it directly to Andrews instead? He is always playing on far bigger opponents and having the ball kicked on top of his head. Fritsch should be the third “tall”. He should play the role say Bailey plays for the Lions rather than being the main tall target inside 50.
  12. Yes, the worst thing that ever happened to his career was helping us win a flag. Can’t believe he smashed his opponent on grand final day. Disgraceful behavior. He’s backed up every year since 2021, even last year with a badly injured foot. Fritsch would get a game in every forwardline in the league. I swear Demonland post loss is unhinged.
  13. I think BB doesn’t have the legs to go with Andrew who is quick and excellent at peeling off. The idea was probably that JVR had more juice in the tank to “defend” him. It didn’t work. I don’t know why Petty was given the defensive role on him. That would have made most sense.
  14. People calling Fritsch a front runner are seriously deluded. He is in the top 5 for overall goals kicked in the last 5 season, playing as a medium forward. He's kicked only a handful less goals than Jeremy Cameron has in 5 years for goodness sake. He also kicked 6 on the biggest stage of all and would have comfortably won the Norm Smith if not for Trac. If you are playing Melbourne, who is the one forward you put all your attention on? Fritsch. Kosi of course, but in terms of who do you defend in the air? It's Fritsch. For such an undersized forward playing as basically our number one target going inside 50, he is remarkably consistent. He needs help though.
  15. Firstly the club never used it as an excuse, but let's remember that not only was it 3 games in 13 days, it was also interstate travel AND coming up against a side who had a bye and then a game against North, which is basically a bye. We had 2 very hard contested games against Port and Adelaide, lost Salem in the first 10 minutes which left us down a rotation, plus Clarry who was, for the first time probably ever, a total liability. Having said all that, you are right and Brisbane played us very well and deserve all the credit. They smashed us in clearances, in contest, in ball use, in efficiency, in tackles, in just about every single stat except hit outs. They deserved that win, and the final margin flattered us.
  16. Brisbane talk a lot of [censored] for a team that has not won a flag since Y2K 🙄
  17. Demonland after a loss is a special place
  18. 6-McDonald - the only player who comprehensively won his position 5- Gawn 4- Rivers 3- Chandler 2- Langdon 1- Lever On ballers have a night they would want to forget. Never seen Clarry Trac and Viney all stink simultaneously
  19. So it’s Max’s job to stop 3 Brisbane on ballers from reading his taps? Or is it the job of our 3 on ballers to get their hands on the footy? If our mids can’t read Max’s taps, then heaven help us. They’ve played together long enough.
  20. I’ve watched him kick 6 in a prelim and lift a premiership cup and wear 6 AA jackets. We won hit outs tonight 58 to 27 ffs. You really think Gawn is the reason we lost? Name a better ruckman in the AFL right now. I’ll wait.
  21. Doubt anyone who actually watched the game is thinking that margin reflects the results. We were comprehensively beaten by a side that played much better football. Last week Norf went down by 70. I rather not see that from my team.
  22. Max is a 6 time AA premiership captain. He is not overrated, he’s one of the greatest ruckman of all time. Give it a rest, this is never an argument that you’ll win.
  23. Much easier to dominate a quarter when the opposition know they’ve won the game. Just saying.
  24. They also tell me that we don’t just give up. Would you rather lose by 60? I am not suggesting the final score was a reflection of the true result, because it wasn’t. But better to give something than give up. Those were the Neeld days. I don’t ever want to see that again.
  25. Burn the tape and move on. It is clear that our midfield has got away with subpar performances all year, but not tonight. A big area for improvement.
