  1. This thread is a bigger let down than the Bachelor finale. Won’t someone give me something?
  2. Just landed back in Melbourne. What’s new?
  3. Which we all hope ends in the exact same way all their other desperate bids have.
  4. So apparently it is possible to get over home sickness when it’s a 4 hour flight away. Fascinating. Also suck it North.
  5. He is very good depth and we all talk about our inside mids like both Viney and Gus haven’t had injury concerns. Who is to say Viney can play 25 games a year? Next year? Maybe ever. With Viney injured, we saw the value of Tyson. If he wants to stay, I’ll be happy to have him on our list. If he wants to go, I hope we get decent compensation for him. He is not a bad player.
  6. Yep. But even if worst case scenario happens, and we replace them with equal amounts of talent (or lack thereof), we have lost absolutely nothing. People talk as if we will go into next year short of players.
  7. Honestly, with the exception of Hogan, has any of the players who have left/are leaving, going to dent our premiership hopes? And if we end up getting a rock solid defender in May, and some outside pace in KK and a backup ruck, does anyone really care if we replace the others who left with more speculative draft picks or discards from other clubs? How will they be any worse than the players we let go, who are clearly not good enough to make it? No point holding onto players who can’t crack a game for the sake of limiting list changes. As for Tyson and AVB, we won’t let them go for nothing. We will try to get decent compensation, which will balance them leaving.
  8. I think there would be 0 rush. If it takes 12 it takes 12. I prefer he takes 15 and never does it again. He would probably aim to play round 1, but my guess is we will see him after the bye.
  9. Wouldn’t that be so typically Melbourne?! If his foot is cactus, we have just lost our chance of seriously improving our list to win a flag, AND we have lost one of our big talents.
  10. He refuses to sign a long term deal. No point holding on to something that is never going to happen. The club is right to push him to leave now. Max value, injury an unknown and still contracted. We hold the cards. Time to go.
  11. Sounds like him and Gus could buddy up. Gus could be a good mentor and give him some advice on the confidence thing. From concussion to 3rd in the Brownlow- the story of the helmeted hero
  12. Honestly St Kilda are joking and I hope one day we snatch one of their players for SFA. Which would make sense as pretty much all their players are worth SFA, hence ladder position.
  13. I was mortified when we took Milkshake. I was wrong. Goody would know him well. If he costs us little, we have nothing to lose. Experienced player with dash. We need to replenish the list.
  14. Kelly leaving Geelong makes me happy. Suffer in your jokes with your old list, you pricks!
  15. Spot on. Getting Lever and potentially May this year, when lots of other clubs were/are interested, make us a destination club. It’s about a player accepting market value salary because they want to play for a club they see future success with. Any club can wave money bags around and eventually land someone. Does not make them a destination club. Players motivated by money over success, are rarely worth chasing anyway. Gaff’s decision is mind boggling to be honest. Vic boy, would be paid well anywhere, just watched his mates win a flag without him. What’s the motivation to go to North other than a crapload of cash? Whereas Polec (good ordinary player who landed a friggin lottery check) and Hogan (go home factor), are a totally different story.
  16. Who the feck would voluntarily go to GC? Plenty of Vic clubs who could use him. He really is not a bad player, he just can’t play his best position at Melbourne. Will go play inside mid somewhere else and be very good. He could be Carlton’s second best inside mid and free Cripps up a bit.
  17. No pressure to kick any goals at Freo, as it’s not the game plan?
  18. So over this. Thanks for your services. Good luck in Freo.
  19. Don’t worry. Clubs that are crap to deal with, get what they deserve in the end.
  20. Completely agreed. We are a club that gets stuff done and are fair to deal with. That’s why we get so many deals done unlike clubs like Essendon. You would hope Kent would have enough respect for the club that drafted and nursed him through loads of injuries, to ensure we don’t get screwed. If he doesn’t care, then honestly he’s no big loss. Either you’re with us, or you can get stuffed.
  21. Is what’s missing a club that isn’t a basket case?
  22. Great now I have to learn to spell his name.
  23. Freo have been that fucken desperate to get Hogan, they’ve literally been stalking him outside his bedroom window since he left Perth. Also they’re a joke and a basket case and their shitty on field performances are starting to cost them dearly. Lyon is definitely on thin ice. No way in hell they miss out on their golden boy. They will give us either 2 top 10 picks or a top 10 pick and a player, whichever we prefer or whichever is easier to get. I will laugh so so hard if Hogan stays, then next year asks to be traded, Freo try to low ball us, we tell them to pizz off, he goes to the draft and ends up at Carlton or GC. Oh the lols.
  24. He will be getting paid craploads no matter what club he goes to.
  25. Lol enjoy North. Talk about chasing cash.
