Harmes plays best in a tagging role. Why we ever stopped giving him those run with roles I don’t know. First real assignment of the year and he has his best game of the year. Coincidence? I think not.

He really needs to do the right thing and call it a day and leave us a list space for our mid season draft. Won’t do it because Lewis is focused on Lewis, but Jesus he is cooked. He runs in sand and he cannot kick. Kinda sad to see such an amazing career come to such a poor end.

Our ball use is deplorable, but at least we ran with a bit more dare and dash today. We looked out on our feet at the start of the last quarter but credit for fighting it out. Our fitness is clearly below par and we are carrying way too many players who are unfit or need to retire (Lewis!!!), but there were glimpses today of the Melbourne of last year. Lockheart worked his guts out and was a standout in the forwardline for me.

This season is a tragic chain of diabolical events. How about we learn to play a decent game plan and spend less time walking with balls underwater.

No doubt this lack of preparation has killed our season and you can’t control players needing surgeries. What you can control is not spending top dollar and picks on unfit players (May, KK), not exposing injured players to more game time than necessary (Smith, Vanders, Preuss) and not letting underdone players be with a history of injuries to come back too early (Jetta). We don’t even deal properly with the things we can control, so there was no hope we would ever recover from the things we couldn’t.

FML the Joel Smith injury is a fuckup of epic proportions. How and why, knowing how long groins can take, would you keep someone out there in a friggin practice match? He literally limped for a half. I know I keep banging on about this, but I mean if we can’t even help the things we can control, then what the [censored] are we even doing? KK and Vanders’ careers seem to he hanging by a thread. Again, why did KK play out the game if he got a head knock? How is May’s prognosis getting worse each week? Why in God’s name would you keep playing injured guys only to make their injury worse? Preuss anyone? I give up with this club sometimes. Ludicrous management.

Have genuinely lost all interest. My last game I’ll be attending until Queens Bday as I’m off overseas for 3 weeks, and actually feel relieved. Usually I’d pay to watch the games lives while I’m away, but I’ve decided a break from this club for 3 weeks will be good. So yeah, football on Saturday. Meh.

Yep. Would also cover like 4 people’s meals at my wedding.

What if instead of spending over $1200 on memberships this season I put that money towards alcohol...

I hope not. What a waste finishing 9th would be. No finals and no good draft picks.
