  1. Carlton have several injuries too. Credit sure but god they are so dull. Offensive jumper. Offensive song. Offensive supporters. As soon as McKay was subbed out it was game over. Carlton was up to their neck in it until that point. Adjusting your forwardline mid game is very hard. Especially when your key forward goes down.
  2. This game was awful. West Coast are just cruising into the top 8 on the back of playing at Boo Stadium. Will bother absolutely nobody at the MCG. Can’t stand this club.
  3. This game is sooooo dull. I switched over to watch a show about people with OCD. Far more interesting. Looking forward to Freo letting me down as per usual, but will be barracking hard for them.
  4. Minister for Sports today said he has no doubt the grand final will be at the G, and part of the reason we are going hard now is because we know we have major sporting events coming up and we don’t want to lose them. He said just two weeks ago we had 80% footy attendance, and he is not wrong. End of September is a long long way away. Months in fact.
  5. Sparrow or JJ. They don’t have the tank to play 120 minutes, both can play defensive roles and both can hit the scoreboard. Their kicking is probably not as good, but they’ll do better defensively. When Viney is ready he can slot back into the middle and I would play one of JJ or Sparrow at half forward.
  6. Without a doubt he is. He’s our vice captain. However he will surely need some match fitness. How he gets that with no VFL I am not too sure.
  7. Spot on. I would play May on DeGoey and Hibbo on Elliot. Do not mess with the backline. It’s too important for finals. Need to keep the three talls working together every week. Also the improvement in Petty week on week has been amazing. He needs all the game time he can get to build confidence in his game.
  8. Why can other byes be pushed out but ours can’t? We should be trying to save Queens Birthday and Big Freeze from being played in front of 3 people in Sydney. Another week could make a big difference.
  9. I would rather lose to a nothing team that won’t get anywhere near the 8, than lose to a top side in direct competition with us for a top 4 spot. Losing to Adelaide is a blimp on the radar and nobody will remember it in September, nor would it matter. Losing later in the season to Port or West Coast or Geelong would be far more costly.
  10. I know this won’t be popular, but it’s a good thing Collingwood won 1- Takes some pressure off them before next week 2- Elliot shows he needs close checking and we can learn a lot more from our opponents winning than losing 3- SA do not deserve to enjoy footy. Bunch of Covid spreading a-holes and what they made Collingwood go thru is a joke. 4- I hate Adelaide
  11. Good decisions all around. Zorko is a moron with form. Woeful leadership.
  12. Goal kicking this season has been woeful across the board. It’s embarrassing how highly skilled and extremely fit these athletes are and yet they can’t execute simple shots on goal.
  13. It looks like he went to McCluggage in the second half to try and reduce his influence. Perhaps it was just by virtue of positioning rather than a set role.
  14. Could be elite if his body holds up. Collingwood isolating him one out in the forwardline is interesting. Wouldn’t work unless they’re winning a lot of the ball and moving it quickly from contests. Hopefully we don’t allow that to happen next week.
  15. He’s on 17.13 for the year. I know he had a lot of health issues last year and I feel for him. I’m sure he would feel awful with that game. But firstly he should have tried to pass when he was on the 50. Do the team thing. And when he took that last mark he just rushed it which was a poor call. Take your full 30. Settle. Give your teammates time to set up behind the ball should you miss. But St Kilda have been woeful all year and as you say lack leadership of any kind.
  16. You’re right that was an exaggerated tongue in cheek call. But anyone else who was so poor at their chosen profession would be in trouble. He didn’t even try to go back and actually line up for a set routine which I assume he would have practiced thousands of times. Or attempt to pass it on. It’s just inexcusable for a professional paid 6 figures!
  17. Geelong have had one great win against a top 8 side against Richmond. They beat Brisbane by 1 point in Geelong and smashed West Coast who I don’t rate also at home in Geelong. Lost to Adelaide, us and Sydney. Games against Port, Dogs and Brisbane coming up will tell us where they are really. Yes they are playing well considering their injury list, but need to see them perform against strong teams and away from Geelong for me to be really concerned by them. Brisbane, Dogs and Port more of a threat IMO.
  18. If Jack Higgins played for us, I would take him out the back and belt him. Disgraceful attempts at goal kicking with the game on the line. Embarrassing stuff.
  19. They are also extremely old. Their experience will be vital in finals, but gees they wouldn’t want to have to work hard in a second half or a final quarter.
  20. Dermie is an old sad loser desperately trying to hang onto whatever tiny relevance he has left. His “analysis” is about as in depth as a shallow pool of horse crap.
  21. His footy IQ and ball use and ferocity at the contest is elite. He makes up for his size with those qualities. I would like to get him a better hairdresser. There I said it.
  22. His confidence in front of goal is a major issue. Either he needs to work one on one with Williams or a sports psychologist, or he needs to stick to VFL where there is no pressure. He doesn’t have much time to work it out. We can’t take this level of inconsistency into finals especially when Ben Brown is waiting around.
  23. Not sure if going from A to A+ through natural maturity and career progression / experience is such a remarkable improvement. Oliver is just a total freak. Never in doubt he would improve.
  24. It’s a long season and premierships are not won in June. We need to push hard for top 2, and hope like hell we stop getting Covid outbreaks in Melbourne. If we can nail both of these and have a bit of luck on the injury front, we could go all the way. But again, a long way to go and injuries and Covid can very well curtail the season quicker than we can say “lockdown”.
  25. If we continue with the theme of we punish the outcome not the action, this won’t rate a mention. If we however look at player profile correlating directly to weeks suspended, he will get 6. So yes, our guess as good as anyone.
