Well I can’t see how he doesn’t get off. So he’s definitely getting life in prison- May to Tribunal
It’s the battle of who is doing a worse job at pleading their case Woods has never played elite level football, and it shows. To suggest a player should know the ball can bounce unpredictably is like saying “the sky is blue”, it’s true but has no relevance to this case. Otherwise you’re telling players to never do anything in case the ball bounces the wrong way.- May to Tribunal
It’s giving Lionel Hutz- May to Tribunal
And I assume Adrian runs on a “no win no fee”? No other reason we keep using him- May to Tribunal
@Lucifers Hero as I said yesterday the AFL is seeking a 3 week ban, which fits exactly within the guidelines of the charge being careless, high contact and severe impact. My guess is that the MRO knew we’d argue the careless part and hence it’s gone to the tribunal. If this useless lawyer can argue his actions weren’t careless he will get off- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
First quarter effort was putrid. But after that we lost the game because our ball use was once again offensively bad. Another week where the opposition’s intercept defender has a field day picking off our rubbish inside 50s- The Judd McVee Thread

Get Kenny to the club in some capacity and you're a 2% of making that happen. Good luck and god speed.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
I mean that's not totally true, because even when sick some players are simply still better than the alternative. If this was a final, or we had to win this game to make finals, you take a risk and back in your best players. We did that with May in the GF and it worked. But the season is so dead it's cold, and this is when these types of arguments are irrelevant. We had a golden opportunity to rest Trac and mix things up, and we chose not to. Instead we pushed him through illness, and we still lost. Great work.- May to Tribunal
The notion that May deserves a suspension simply because he has form, is totally untrue. Can anyone remember the last time he was suspended?- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Not the first time this season I've heard of players being very ill during the week and still playing on the weekend. You'd think we're racing for a flag. Ridiculously and needlessly careless at this stage of the season.- Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?

Kosi with a perfect 10 in the coaches votes How much worse off would we be without him. Scary to think!- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Agreed. Petty should go back to replace May, and stay there as a permanent replacement for eventually Tmac who we know is retiring soon. Play Jefferson and Roo together for the rest of the year and if you wanna go totally crazy being Kentfield in too. The time to throw caution to the wind is now. Who here honestly cares if we win or lose the rest of the remaining games? (Of course we all want to beat the damn Pies) I rather lose a different way than the same old way- May to Tribunal
I think that it was referred directly to the tribunal for the same grading is a good thing. It means they aren’t confident a careless grading will hold up at appeal. Otherwise they’d have slapped him with 3 weeks and got on with it. On the grading of careless it can’t be more than 3 weeks, unless we are so bad at representing ourselves that we argue he intentionally hit the other guy 😂 The AFL will need grounds to ask for more than 3 weeks, and according to their own metrics that only applies if the action was intentional.- May to Tribunal
The MRO has to grade incidents, and you can't argue with the high or severe impact grading, those are very clear cut. They graded it Careless, because as I noted last week with the Xerri case, there is nothing below careless, it's either careless, or intentional which is much worse (4+ weeks and straight to tribunal) The argument here is that May wasn't careless, and contact was accidental. The MRO is too scared to make that call, and so they are sending it to the tribunal to argue. We will hopefully get a decent lawyer that will show that May had about 1 second to realise that he wasn't going to win the ball, and that only happened as a result of the bounce of the ball deviating from it's original course. May's eyes were firmly on the ball the entire time, in the split second that he sees his opponent in the periphery, you can actually see him tuck his elbow in and brace for contact, and not elect to bump. He actually flinches, which means he didn't see it coming. The argument from us should be that he had the right to go for the ball, and he would have taken possession first had the ball not bounced the way it did, and he had not enough time to stop himself with the momentum from hitting his opponent. Unfortunately the height difference meant there was a head injury, but May never changes direction, never leaves the ground, and never raises an arm, which are all the things we are wanting to stamp out. He didn't elect to bump, he clashed with an opponent at full speed trying to win the ball. But of course we will get that absolute [censored] Adrian Anderson to represent us with a limp wet lettuce leaf defense and May will get 4 weeks because he's not a 'good guy' like [censored] Maynard. Nothing surer.- The Judd McVee Thread
Also kudos to him for overcoming not just the Essendon debacle after a late start to his career, but the tragic death of his brother. He is a good man is Hibbo, and one of the very best pick ups we've ever had in terms of value for money. My close Essendon supporting mate says he's the one player they lost from the supplement saga that really hurt to see go, and he was riding our bandwagon hard in 2021 because he wanted Hibbo to win a flag. Now he just laughs at how good Melksham has become... "of course Essendon didn't get the best out of him" he says.- The Judd McVee Thread
An underrated star of our premiership defense. I reckon we retired him too soon.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Nobody will ever replace Max. The plan is to do what 15 or so teams do and play with a good competitive ruckman post Max who doesn’t do what Max does but still helps the midfield get the ball. We have Kalani in the wings and we will undoubtedly keep trying to pluck a competitive young ruckman via the draft or in a trade. Generational ruckman are rare and they aren’t really needed to win a flag. Many teams have won flags with good ordinary combative beasts in the ruck. They’re a dime a dozen. - May to Tribunal
