NON-MFC: Round 18, 2022
Means nothing if you don’t win the flag. Much easier to finish top 4 when you get basically 10 easy wins at a ridiculous ground only you know how to play at every single year. I will never support the theory that Geelong are genuinely still good. Never. [censored] them all to hell!!!!!!

NON-MFC: Round 18, 2022
Genuinely disgraceful from North. Where has this been all year? Gotta feel for Noble.

NON-MFC: Round 18, 2022
Pies just getting lucky. Can’t wait to see them get destroyed in finals.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Freo are in a premiership window. Why would they give up their best mid and most important player for a developing ruck? That would be a really stupid move that would make them a worse side. It just won’t happen unless Brayshaw demands a trade, which considering he’s in contract seems unlikely.

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
I also think Melksham must be in to play a very specific role

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
I am not thrilled with these selections but I trust the coaches. They’ve done a good job the last two season.

He’s not Oliver tho

I feel a loss coming on. We just lost our best player and most consistent defender.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Welcome to Demonland. I bet my bottom dollar that whoever controls the social media passwords at Melbourne is a closet Demonlander who posts photos and then comes on here to read the mass hysteria with a bucket of popcorn.

Farewell Luke Jackson
No photos of Gus on Insta today. Clearly gone. Do you think our social media team is just posting content that they think will get likes maybe?

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
They are not moving Gus into the middle. They will bring in Dunstan to cover his place.

Farewell Luke Jackson
This thread is getting more and more ridiculous by the day. I love it.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
Well I have very little confidence that we can win this game now. Oliver is by far our most important and best player.

Buddy
Would have him in a second. Sadly I can’t see how we can afford it and I also don’t think he would want to uproot his family for 1-2 years.

What They Are Saying at Alberton Oval
I am pretty sure that is true for every team in the 8....

Is David Noble the new Mark Neeld?
Buckley would be a great option for North. However why would he leave a well paid cushy media job to run a circus? Same goes for Lyon. Ross wants success to prove that he isn’t the overrated hack we all think he is. That doesn’t go hand in hand with North. As for Clarkson, he could walk into any club. Why would he walk into North, unless the money was astronomical or he was desperate to stay in Victoria and Essendon stick fat with Rutten?

We did improve under Roos from a defensive point of view. Under Neeld we were getting dismantled every week, not too dissimilar to North. Roos built a defensive foundation and 2 way running. It wasn't always well executed because as you say, we had a poor list, but there is no doubt the 'buy in' from the playing group under Roos as a whole would have been much higher than under Neeld. I know Roos isn't a people person either, but he commanded the respect that Neeld could only dream of. Noble is very different and comes with a long and respected history in our game.

Taylor Walker
My father in law is available... not a great footballer tho.

Not one of those guys comes across if Roos isn't the coach tho. That is why Roos was so valuable. He could lose 18 games a year without anyone batting an eyelid because he was a proven coach. He had time and grace afforded to him while he resuscitated a dying club with a NQR list and culture. Jackson was the same. He could get a lot of stuff done and had the ear and cheque book of the AFL. Both of these guys, no matter what you think of them, saved our club. Neeld was an awful coach, but anyone who thinks that we could punch our way out of a wet paper bag back then, even with the greatest coach on earth, is kidding themselves. This is why North need someone well established like Clarkson. He can buy them time while he rebuilds.
