  1. Fine but the same goes the other way. I’ve heard plenty of umpires be just as condescending to players. Why is it ok for an umpire to explain for 45 seconds why he paid a free and if the player says ā€œbutā€ it’s a free kick? Perhaps if the umpires were not given such a difficult set of grey rules to adjudicate each week there would be a lot less for players to question. If the umpires lack basic consistency from game to game and week to week, why would a player not question something so he knows what not to do next time? Because truly in each and every game the rules are judged differently and it can absolutely change the outcome of matches. It’s not about the odd mistake. Umpires are humans and they’ll make mistakes. It’s about the lack of consistency and transparency. Last week arms out is not a 50. This week it is. Next week it’s a sneeze will do it. The week after I can scream at an umpire.
  2. They are Richmond fans. Please check those expectations at the door thanks.
  3. I don’t disagree. Our second half of the year is much harder than the first half in terms of who and where we play. So banking wins now is super important. On the other hand, the only games so far where we’ve gotten out of second gear have been against the Dogs and GWS, both teams who we know are quality and likely make the 8, and both teams who challenged and beat us last year. We rise when challenged and when we play against better sides. And when we click into overdrive we are significantly better than the rest of the competition.
  4. Feel bad for Frosty. He looked so genuinely shattered.
  5. Two things that make me genuinely want to punch something.
  6. Umpire 22 a disgrace. Hawkins a fat diving cheat
  7. Correct. Ward tried hard but was inoffensive.
  8. Defensively he’s ok. It’s what he does the rest of the time that makes you want to close your eyes and pray to Jesus Hawkins and his fat oily thighs are keeping Geelong from bottoming out. He is genuinely the only one not on his last legs.
  9. Remember when we had Frost and now we have May? Good times.
  10. This game is making me wish we get to meet Geelong in finals. I enjoy very much destroying them.
  11. When you order Melbourne off Wish šŸ˜‚
  12. If you want to destroy the amazing culture we’ve built you can go get that fat [censored] Stringer. He is a cultural cancer. Now, let’s go Hawks. I am sick to death of Geelong.
  13. The problem with this rule isn’t that we don’t agree that umpires need to be respected, it’s that it is impossible to adjudicate CONSISTENTLY because what one umpire constitutes as ā€œabuseā€ another umpire won’t. Already we’ve seen countless examples of this across the first 5 rounds. It is too much of a grey area and therefore needs to be changed to: verbal abuse or physical intimidation = 50m. Everything else is fair game.
  14. Freo is miles ahead of Carlton because they have a good defensive structure. Carlton will look like an A plus team and then immediately drop their bundle. They remind me a lot of the Dogs right now, reliant on having a perfect midfield game to dominate games but can’t handle any sort of pressure or defend behind the ball. Freo are very good.
  15. I guess the beat up is that we are better than all those teams and after years of being awful we are finally a damn good side to watch and our fans still are not turning up in big numbers. I keep thinking if not now then when?
  16. Every supporter thinks their team is the hardest done by. Even the Dogs fans believe they get a bad deal from the umpires šŸ™„
  17. Please quote and share
  18. Carlton is a lot of hot air and flair but very little defensive substance
  19. Watching the replay eating Easter eggs. What a religious experience.
  20. Geelong are not even a fake Hermes let alone a real one.
  21. It is a big problem as it seriously impacts our bottom line, our ability to go to the AFL and demand blockbuster games, sponsorship dollars and so on. Being a big club is a big advantage in this competition and you can’t be a big club when 20,000 turn up to watch you win your 12th straight game.
  22. I get how frustrating the public transport situation is. I live in Berwick and our trains have been down most weekends for the good part of a year due to level removal works. It’s so annoying and I drive to Caulfield station to meet my dad to go to the game which is incredibly frustrating and a massive waste of time. I also recognize that I have that luxury as I don’t work weekends I don’t take small kids with me etc etc and not everyone is in the same position. But, I feel like a lot of people are using excuses like ticketing and Covid to stay home which is disappointing. You can buy a ticket on the day of the game, walking into the G is no more a bother than it has ever been and literally anything is better than listening to commentators telling me how well Swallow is playing šŸ™„ Edit; with 20,000 in attendance sitting in the open air your chances of getting Covid is lower than a casual Saturday stroll in Coles to pick up milk.
  23. Another BS rule reliant on the umpire’s mood. Sensitive souls punishing players they don’t like but would never give that sort of free to Hawkins. AFL house continues to find new and innovative way to ruin the game and make us hate umpires even more.
