  1. Interesting that he mentioned Trac’s role. I wonder if Trac is annoyed that he copped that injury playing up forward, which is a role he doesn’t want to play.
  2. So what did you want him to say, word for word please
  3. Perhaps the problem isn’t what he’s saying, but the fact that our supporters are so obsessed with constantly [censored] on our club, just like the media.
  4. Exactly. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Everyone screaming for our CEO or president to speak and when they do they complain.
  5. Really hope we give Ben Brown a farewell game next week!
  6. Did Clarry make the trip up? May? Trac?
  7. Why would the club spend a whole season rehabbing Clarry, and playing him injured, only for his trade value to diminish and then trade him? Would it not have been wiser to cut our losses last year when his value was higher, and we were trying desperately to get more picks to make a trade with WCE for pick 1? Geelong were keen last year too and had a better draft hand than they do this year. It would be poor list management would it not?
  8. So if the club doesn’t want to trade him, then the whole thing is moot as he has years to run on his deal. And of course he’s being hunted. He’s a star player. Doesn’t mean anything.
  9. He could say he’s having surgery and we are looking forward to getting him fit. He didn’t need to go on about how proud the club is of the progress Clarry made and how happy and determined he is to get to his best. Goody isn’t exactly the smoothest media performer, so if it wasn’t true I think we would be able to see right thru it. But he sounded very very genuine to me. Just as I thought he was clear that there are issues to be resolved with Trac. Never lied or denied it.
  10. Can you answer my question about what Geelong offers us in return? Also why would Goody heap praise on Clarry and say he will be with us next year, if the club was planning to trade him?
  11. And what are we getting in return? Since you appear to have mail
  12. But apparently we play the most boring brand of football 🙄
  13. Sure, but what of the damage that’s been done between Trac and the club? And his teammates who aren’t possibly happy that he’s airing dirty laundry in public? Gawn didn’t sound happy, and he’s the happiest and most positive player I know. Breaking trust between teammates is often something that’s hard to repair.
  14. So you don’t think this whole thing has damaged the club’s reputation and potentially cost us trade deals? Moreover you don’t think there’s a lack of trust now between the players and Trac?
  15. That seems a stretch considering how active he is on his socials on a daily basis. I fully respect the trauma he went thru and really feel for him. He’s clearly nowhere near 100% healthy and that’s really tough. Not sure how causing a media storm around yourself is conducive to recovery tho.
  16. He is one player, a very good and important player, but he is not bigger than the club. Making things public may resolve things quicker, but at what cost?
  17. If he wants things to change, then he has to be part of that change. I fully respect his choice to get away during the early stages of his injury, but you can’t have it both ways. You are either part of the solution or you’re part of the problem. Right now, he’s part of the problem because he’s dragged our club back into the headlines for all the wrong reasons. There are better ways to go about emphasizing your frustrations than throwing a match and watching things burn.
  18. Gawn didn’t sound happy either. Considering he’s killed himself for the club and taken less money so we can play guys like Trac millions of dollars, I can imagine he isn’t thrilled to once again have to do damage control.
  19. This 100% Trac is within his rights to be upset or unhappy with the direction of the club or the handling of his injury. But to play it out so publicly at the expense of the club that made him the highly paid star that he is, is simply immature and selfish. Either he thinks that if he does enough damage we will relent and trade him, or he’s simply more worried about his own brand than the club’s. I suspect that in time he will regret the way he’s handled it.
  20. They don't have a first this year, and if Trac goes there, their first next year might not be very good. And no offense to Quaynor but I am not trading a top 5 AFL player for a good half back flanker. Look I understand the want to discuss this, but when the club and Goodwin both said we are not trading him, you better believe they are not trading him, because his discontent is not news (it's only news to us in the public), and the media release was not sent out without his consent either. If we don't back ourselves as a club to resolve this situation with one of the best players in the league, who committed to our club for 7 whole years, then we may as well turn off the lights and lock the doors and call it a day as a football club.
  21. Let's say Trac wants to go to the Pies, he is smart enough and his management are smart enough to know that there is no world in which the Pies have anything that would satisfy us in a trade. For starters they have no first round pick this year. Their best players are all old, or a Daicos, which they clearly will not trade. It is just a total fantasy. If his life long desire was to play for Collingwood, he doesn't commit to SEVEN years at Melbourne.
  22. Petty definitely flew up yesterday. He posted a photo on socials last night from the GC. Kinda weird they’re not flying all together. Or is that normal?
  23. One of my best mates is an Essendon supporter and he reckons this is the best day of his Essendon supporting life since 2000 😂
