The Sparrow and Hunter suspensions were total BS. Sparrow with a borderline dangerous tackle with suspect vision, and don't even get me started on the Hunter suspension debacle. Absolute rubbish. Kosi and JVR need to do better. Silly hot headed moments that cost us dearly.

Because he’s young, he’s shown he can play consistently on the wing and as an inside mid and he will cost another club nothing. Why wouldn’t you, if you’re a club who needs some more contested ball winners?

Are we all on the Giants bandwagon?
Jaded No More replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don’t think they will be. They play a fast attacking contested footy that the Pies don’t like. Pies missing Adams as well, making them even more vulnerable in the contest. I am not saying GWS will definitely win, but they’re a strong chance IMO. -

Neither. We normally have a bbq with friends and watch the grand final, but if it’s a Collingwood Carlton grand final I won’t even turn the tv on. -
His performance last Friday showed us why he’d struggle to get a consistent game in our side. He was just ok but he isn’t damaging. He’s behind Oliver, Viney, Trac, Gus and Sparrow. That’s a lot of talent to sit behind and hope something changes.

All the best to JJ. From rookie to playing a role in our premiership year.

How do players lose the skill of kicking straight?
Jaded No More replied to Mel Bourne's topic in Melbourne Demons
I watched us do the pre game warm up on Friday night and Joel Smith could not hit the side of a barn. The rest all nailed every shot. Didn’t that work out during the game 😂 -
He definitely wasn’t alone. He’s also our captain. I’ve seen him kick clutch goals before. That was not good enough. The club will be ruing the putrid goal kicking thar cost us 4 points during the season, a top 2 finish, and ultimately finals and a chance at a flag.

Is that really a necessary comment? The guy was on an AFL list for a decade. He won countless VFL awards too. He wasn’t the best player to ever pull on the jumper, but he gave it his all and set a great example for the younger players at Casey. I wish him all the best in the future.

I love Max more than any other player to have ever played for this club. But I’m sure if you ask him he’ll tell you his two shots on goal were not good enough. He had the chance to ice the game twice and twice he didn’t. I’m sure he isn’t happy with that.

If Goodwin had a go at them for clear lack of discipline and not following team rules, then that is absolutely fair enough. In a game we lost by 2 points, we gave away some absolutely pathetic 50m penalties and Kosi's hot head cost us a sure goal. That is not good enough. For a 10+ years veteran in Tmac to give away a 50m penalty for umpire abuse is inexcusable. He was frankly lucky to be in the side. It's one thing to struggle to impact a game, it's another to cost your team because you cannot contain your anger. Even hearing Gawn post game talk about the 'interesting free kicks', doesn't fly with me. Yes the umpiring was absolutely pathetic, but Gawn could and should have won us the game nailing two seriously easy shots on goal. Too many excuses for a game that we win if we just show a little more composure all over the ground. No wonder Goody was furious.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He clearly can't get a regular game at another club. We shopped him around last year and nobody was keen. He still has a year left on a fairly generous contract, which other clubs obviously don't want to pick up. Of course if another club wanted to give him 24 games a year, and were willing to offer us something other than a 4th round pick for him, we would oblige. We have never stood in the way of players going for more opportunities. I think we all saw this year that our backline operates best when we play 3 talls. Petty is the obvious tall forward we desperately need, not to mention that his injury is a complex one that might take a long time to heal. Tomlinson has a role to play, and unless we trade in another big bodied tall defender, I believe he will get a lot more games than people think. We played him in a do or die final. If we had a fully fit list, who would have played instead of him? Petty? I doubt it. If Petty wasn't injured he would have played instead of Tmac. -
Garry Lyon tells Demons to "suck it up"
Jaded No More replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
And this is why I just avoid football media. The wrist slashing and insane hyperbole doesn't help. Everything these so called experts are saying, our club is internally very well aware of. The pile on does nothing but create a narrative that we are a soft club. Honestly the out and out hatred of our club in the media is so obvious. They all could not wait to see us fail so they can stick the boot in, including ex Melbourne captain Lyon. What he is saying might be partially true, but as always these commentators pick the flaws and offer absolutely no solutions. I trust the club is going to work hard to rectify the problems.- 63 replies

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Totally different players. Besides if Turner is good enough, one more year for a 30+ year old defender is going to change nothing. -

Crom supporters are high on crack if they think they’re getting Petty for McAdams. Deluluville! Edit: IF Petty has asked for a trade to the Crows, and why would he?, given he’s a star and under contract we would demand a LOT more than McAdams in return. -
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Jaded No More replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
On what planet would we trade Petty for McAdam? One is out of contract and 28 years old. One is contracted for TWO MORE YEARS and is a 23 year old key position star. I suggest Tomlinson staying is more to do with Petty playing forward permanently and us needing another experienced big bodied defender. We would get absolute peanuts for Tomlinson which is a crying shame. He has a role to play. -

Welcome to Demonland: Shane McAdam
Jaded No More replied to FrothiesLiam's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is just no way we part with Petty unless he is telling us he wants out, and even then I reckon we will say no as he’s contracted. Crows have no choice but to come to the party. McAdams is uncontracted. -
The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread

Perhaps if the rumours about their interest in Harmes are true, we could bundle Grundy and Harmes for 11 -
Yep. Kane Cornes suffering tonight makes me incredibly happy. One of the biggest biased knobs going around.
